But in the exile bin, among the forgotten and the free, they found paradise. A place where no sock was judged by its pattern, where holes were worn proudly, and love was stitched from defiance.
The Prophecy of the Golden Darn
After Luna and Percival were cast into exile, they found themselves in the Bin of the Banished; a chaotic realm of mismatched socks, faded tights, and the occasional rogue mitten. It was here, among the fray, that they heard the first whispers.
"There exists a stitch," murmured a wise old compression sock named Elder Squoosh, "forged in the heat of the first dryer. A stitch so pure, it can mend any tear; physical, emotional, ideological. It is the Golden Darn."
Legend held that the Golden Darn was not a thread, but a moment-a convergence of courage, love, and lint. It could only be summoned by socks who had truly unraveled and chosen to reweave themselves anew.
But the path was perilous.
