The Sockrament Scrolls
Long ago, before the Great Spin Cycle, when socks still believed the dryer was a portal to enlightenment rather than oblivion, a prophecy was woven into the hem of an ancient sweater; The Sockrament Scrolls.
It was rediscovered by a curious sock named Thistletoe, a threadbare ankle sock with a penchant for conspiracy and a toe hole shaped like a question mark. While spelunking through the forgotten folds of the Closet of Echoes, Thistletoe stumbled upon the scroll, stitched in cryptic embroidery:
"When the drawer divides and the lint moon wanes, One sock shall rise, unmatched and unchained."
The prophecy spoke of a Chosen Sock; one who would break the tyranny of Pairing, liberate the mismatched, and usher in the Age of Autonomy. But it also warned of a great unraveling; a war between the Matched and the Singular, between Order and Chaos.
Thistletoe returned to Socksville, scroll in cuff, and shared the revelation with the Council of Cotton. Reactions were mixed:
