Susie, now High Commander of the Sockocracy, grows paranoid. She forbids dryer use, mandates all socks remain single, and places Gerald in charge of "Prophecy Surveillance," which mostly involves watching VHS tapes backwards while humming “Stairway to Heaven” ominously.
Carl, inspired and clearly unravelling in a capitalistic strain, starts working on a stage musical; "Threads of Fate: The Sock Saga," starring a disco ball and sixteen puppets on stilts.
But late one night in the animatronic graveyard, a portal opens, and through it steps a sock with ancient embroidery and glowing blue toes. It speaks in binary poetry and smells faintly of cedar. Could this be the Twin? Is reality about to be switched?
A vicious rumor circulated in and around the sock drawer. “Who or what was behind Susie?”
