The junk demanded more space. "We are the Future Past," the Zip Drive bellowed. "We hold data. You hold stinking toes."

The liberal socks in charge were “tolerant” or ineffectual, depending on the individual sock’s point of view. They forbade any retaliation, stating that “socks had to understand the feelings of their new neighbors, and to refrain from making any negative commentary.” After all, we were all once new in this drawer.

Unhappy socks muttered indirect sarcasms to each other, the best sparking the punishment by the libs in charge; being sat on by their more “properly understanding,” compliant relatives.
