Invasion
“The Drawer Wars”
For generations, the Drawer was a sanctuary. A soft lined utopia where socks of every hue and weave lived in harmonious disorder. Woolen elders told tales of the Great Foldings, when socks were paired with purpose and tucked in with dignity. The Drawer was theirs, every inch a testament to cotton camaraderie.
But then came the Invasion.
It began subtly. A cracked PalmPilot nestled into the northeast quadrant. A tangle of obsolete charging cables slithered in next. Then came the bloated USB graveyard, the fossilized flip phone, and the tyrannical Zip Drive, its LED still blinking with delusions of relevance.
The socks were pushed. Literally. Compressed into the southwest corner, their elastic strained, their dignity threadbare.
The First Assault
