16. PURSUE HAPPINESS
Focus on what makes you feel happy each day. Pour your energy into doing what you love. You'll feel the difference first. Enjoy the feeling of inexplicable happiness, laughter and joy.
Let happy emotions carry you along and ignore the doubts that want to yank you back into the muck of negativity where most people continue to live from lack of understanding there is a better way.
Just as you may have reached critical mass as far as fear and dread go, you can shift that around, and soon reach critical mass for happiness meaning it will be a bigger part of your day in every way.
Being a happy person doesn't mean you skip through life in a foolish, happy-go-lucky way, but it does mean that a deep sense of contentment abides in your heart, and you can withstand anything, including things that used to rock you off your foundation.
As a society, we are bombarded with negative affirmations night and day, and like well-trained schoolchildren, we repeat the essence of fear in every waking moment. How do we do this? By talking about and thinking about what we don't want. Cancer, divorce, accidents, financial disaster, job loss, and the election of Donald Trump, an extreme rightist with delusions of grandeur and power.
Untrained thoughts are similar to a distracted gardener haphazardly tossing fertilizer pellets in the garden: some goes on the sidewalk, a handful goes on the weeds, and then a little of the food actually lands in the flower bed and helps the roses bloom.
Untrained thoughts say: "Oh no, they're predicting rain on Saturday—we'd better call off the picnic. Too bad, the kids were all looking forward to it." Trained thoughts counter that with: "Hey, let's predict the weather we want… the outcome we WANT!"
Your Mind Is a 3D Printer –everything you think with enough emotion and interest is something that then "outpictures" in your reality.
Start taking more care in what you imagine. Make those pictures about things you love and experiences you want to imprint on your subconscious mind to create in the physical world. As above so below—that ancient saying means as we think (above) so it turns out in life (below).
When you are pursuing happiness, understand it is not a set goal you hope to achieve. First be in alignment with the emotion of happiness that you have already received all that you desire and believe that your wish is already fulfilled. Enjoy that feeling and enjoy the happiness in advance. That is the true power of being a happy person, with the unshakeable belief that all is well.
