14. NOTICE HOW YOU FEEL INSIDE

Many athletes get far better mind training than the rest of us. They are drilled in mental exercises to focus on the outcome they desire, to visualize themselves achieving that specific outcome, to seem themselves winning, to "be the ball"!

Meanwhile, the rest of us flounder around with the Old Worldview thinking habits that were still in use when people believed the world was flat and the sun went around the earth.

With our poorly trained thinking habits, instead of recognizing a fearful reaction to someone like Trump as soon as he opens his mouth, and realize our emotions are warning us we are going in the wrong direction if we keep paying attention to him, we collectively got more and more fearful – egged on by two factors: 1. Trump's rants and the gruesome vision he painted of a godless country ruled by a despot interested only in his own extreme agenda, and 2. Hillary's downward spiral in the marketing area of campaign emails and announcements. To the point, email subject lines similar to this: "I'm terrified! Trump is outspending us!" The subject lines alone rang the death knell for her campaign to be elected.

Those negative affirmations that one supporter after another read and absorbed and came into harmony with mentally were deadly to the desired result of Hillary's winning the presidency.

We can learn from this lesson, so that it won't happen again. When our feelings are in the lower range of fear, anxiety, worry and dread, that means our thoughts are in that lower range, too. And from that standpoint, the only things we can attract and manifest will also share that low frequency. Hence, the election of a man who is a racist, bigot and extremist with avowed white supremacist supporters.

Notice how you are feeling—our emotions are the pure indicator of our thought patterns. When we feel upset, since most of us never learned the laws of the mind and how to use them properly and effectively to improve our lives, we get the bright idea that we need to force ourselves into a happy mood.

Can't be done. Force negates. Oh, we can paste a smile on and pretend we're doing okay. I know, because for many years of my life I kept on smiling, but the smile was false. I was trying to cover up my fear and anxiety over a really bad marriage and put a good face on it. Read that again—do you see what I said? It's what we've been taught: cover up, put a good face on it. But we can't cover up fear by smiling—that emotion of fear beneath the surface is driving our results.

Be calm in the face of hatred. It appears to be directed at you and all you hold dear, but when we realize what is going on with the other person, we can see they wouldn't be so hateful in their messages to others if they felt any love for themselves.

While we can and I believe should feel compassion for even Hitleresque people, it doesn't mean we roll over and let them trample over us.

The reason I feel we must emphasize having compassion when being a modern-day Freedom Fighter, is that if we act hateful, if we spew angry messages in response to Trump supporters, then all that retaliation on our part means we have aligned with the very "Dark Force" that we wish to eliminate.

Allow the rage-aholics their own experience of being fear-driven, but detach yourself from joining in on that vibrational wavelength.

"Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.

It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control.

Its presence is an indication of ripened experience,

and of a more than ordinary knowledge

of the laws and operations of thought.

"A man becomes calm in the measure that

he understands himself as a thought-evolved being, for such knowledge necessitates the understanding

of others as the result of thought, and as he develops

a right understanding, and sees more and more

clearly the internal relations of things by the action of cause and effect, he ceases to fuss and fume and

worry and grieve, and remains poised, steadfast, serene."

As a whole, we do much better obeying traffic signs than we do the signs our emotions helpfully offer us. For instance, what would your reaction be if you were driving along and came to any of these signs along the roadside or on a freeway lighted panel: Wrong way, do not enter, turn around, go back, bridge out, yield, stop.

Notice the signs your feelings offer and ask for guidance.

Affirm: In the morning, I will know just what to do.
