8. HONOR YOUR CORE VALUES
What is your truth? What do you really believe in? I'm talking about the things that YOU believe. Most of us don't know what we believe. We grew up parroting what parents and grandparents and teachers told us we should believe, and we practiced saying it long enough that we fell in step with them and nodded: Yes, I believe all that, too.
Everyone has core values. These values are at the heart of our lives and the choices we make.
Core values are those solid beliefs that help us make sense of our place in the world. Not all of these values are good or helpful. Many are, in fact, damaging to the individual and deadly to the rest of the world.
When someone's core value is to put himself first at the expense of the rights and needs of others, he reveals himself as an egomaniac, a danger and a threat to freedom and justice. A narcissist lives by the core value that his needs come first and everyone else is on earth to serve him and make sure he gets what he wants.
If your core value is to grow and prosper and help others do the same, then make sure that everything you do in life honors those values. People will say things like, well I hate dishonesty but my job requires me to lie to customers about the freshness of the goods or where they were made. That person needs to change jobs or the steady drip-drip-drip of being out of alignment with their stated core values on a daily basis is going to create real problems for them.
We have to be more vigilant about being in harmony with what we say we believe in.

9. IMAGINE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT GREAT
You may have watched "The Secret" film and then decided to try to use the law of attraction to improve your results.
Many people gave up quickly, saying it didn't work, as if the law of attraction is some option we can choose to use or discard.
Actually, it's always with us, every moment of the day, and it is always in action. Our thoughts direct the law of attraction to bring to us, or attract in, those things, people and events that are in vibrational harmony with our thoughts.
Have you ever noticed that if your day started off poorly (and you didn't do anything to change its direction), that more often than not, the whole day goes from bad to worse?
That's the law of attraction working in your life. It is a neutral force, simply responding to our thought requests.
Our challenge is that we've gotten the idea that what we "Say" or "Affirm" is what we are ordering the law of attraction to bring us. That does work, but only if what we are saying and affirming matches what we believe we can receive and what we expect to get.
That's where things start falling apart, as if you walked up to a take-out counter and could order whatever you wanted, but the clerk heard a garbled version and you're annoyed when they give you something totally different from what you were sure you ordered.
Without awareness of the crucial part our thoughts play in this creation process, we end up feeling discouraged, in debt, out of luck, out of love, and quite often more than a little miserable.
We end up with results we don't like or want, not because we are being punished but because we didn't follow the rules of the mind game.
If you clearly imagine what you want, it's not enough to be able to picture it and be excited about having it or really wishing for it night and day. You have to be in a state of mind where you believe the result or experience is already yours. That inner belief is the key.
