New York State Apple pie

 

1 pie crust (For crust use whatever you are comfortable with-I am happy with those you can find in the dairy case)

5 cups apples, peeled and sliced (your choice)

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons margarine

Sprinkle lemon juice over apple slices.

Combine sugar, salt, flour,cinnamon and nutmeg in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle over apple slices.

Toss apples and flour mixture until apple slices are fully coated. Arrange into bottom prepared crust.

dot with margarine.

Cover with top crust and fold under and crimp.

cut slits into top crustand dust with sugar if desired.

Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes
