FINAL NOTES
SPINAL HEALTH
‘You are only as old as your spine. If your
spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it
is completely flexible at 60, you are young!!!’
Joseph Pilates
Our spinal cord acts as a highway for
communication between the body and the
mind. It transfers information from the brain
to our internal organs though the system of
nerves.
So, when we experience a muscular
contraction around the cord, it also affects the
functioning of the organs.
If the pain is felt in the lower spine, we may
have constipation problems, colitis, diarrheas,
gas pain, irritable bowel, bladder problems,
menstruation problems, and numbness in legs.
If it hurts in the middle region of the spine, it
may also result in congestion, breathing
difficulty, high blood pressure, heart
conditions, pneumonia, stomach problems,
