The inward travelers
There, even now, are those who are grumbling that we need to go back to the edge of this galaxy. Our old world was just fine and it was on the edge. That infection was not allowed to fester. They now are one with the mission. All are feeding their nutrients into the soil.
We need to act towards the survival of the majority, i.e. the council members only. We know best and you better smile and cheer. I, the captain, lead that council. Any who have disagreed have just nourished this new world.
Now there is a hotline for reporting dissidents. The harmony is what needs to be preserved. I have estimated that we only need half of the population when we find our new home world. The rest are just, well, working supplies. That is the tough decisions that a leader must make
For whatever reason, the animals we brought have almost completely died off. Now, most do not know that they are consuming artificially grown lab meat. They are grateful for that. Individual home cooking is now banned as with any food being stored there.
For the good of all, there are now communal kitchens where all the food is made and you need to eat it in the cafeteria. All have their assigned times to eat the breakfast and supper. We must conserve our resources.
The council must have three meals of real food. After all, we make the decisions for all. I do feel that, more and more, they are trying to rest the ultimate decisions from me. I need to watch them. Some or all may need to go into the soil.
The soil and the water will need to be replenished. One thing is that this world ship has the ability to scan where water is on other worlds that may not be fit for us to live but we can make it potable. We are scanning the worlds for those requirements
Even if we need to travel for generations, everyone agrees that we must continue. Press on no matter how many generations pass. It is of the consensus that no matter how long, we will find our new home.
On ward and inward
