So, what was Allison doing in bed with you?” Denise asked Jack.

They were sitting on his veranda and arguing.

“You didn’t catch her in bed with me. You just saw her on the veranda, and you just assumed

that she was coming from my room.”

“Where else could she be coming from? And when I wanted to beat her, you put her in a taxi

and sent her home. I’m leaving you.”

“Úp to now I’m not sure if it’s you or Tula who is along with Fitz.”

“I’ve never slept with him yet. Tula is his woman.”

“She was only visiting me as a friend.”

“She was coming out of the room, half naked.”

“Are you planning on going back to Carl? He wants you back.”

“I’m not going back to him. I’m only sorry that it was Tula, who got Fitz and not me.”

“So, you like him. I must tell Tula.”

“She knows how I feel about him.”

“Most women I know hate his guts. You know how many of them have gotten pregnant

for him and he gave them money to do abortions. It might soon happen to Tula.”

“Most of those things are just rumors.”

Jack invited her inside his house, but she refused and left for her house. He called Allison

on her cell phone and told her to return as he had sent Denise home.

Demar was in his room lying down on his bed when his cell phone rang. Dania was

on the line. Outside the rain was pouring down.

“Demar, you don’t miss me? You don’t long to get some of what I have to give you?”

“Of course, I miss you. You just let Scott have you by his side all the time.”

“I might just get a nervous breakdown dealing with him and his baby mother drama. Every day

a new woman calls me. Either she is pregnant for him or has a baby for him already.”

He burst out laughing.

“Don’t laugh, you hear.”

“I told you to leave him a long time ago. Are you going to have any children for him?”

“You’re the only man I would let get me pregnant.”

“So why are you still along with him?”

“I want to get a good bank account out of him. I have to do that before I leave him. Fitz is looking me too.”

“Why are you telling me that? I’m your man. You shouldn’t even be along with Scott. Why am I sharing you with that guy? I think you like Fitz.”

“Of course not. I don’t like him plus he has no money to support a woman. From we were in college, I’ve been your woman. I drove all the way to St. Elizabeth to sleep with you.”

“I can’t bear to be sharing you with another man.”

“You’ve just got to be patient, darling.”

Before they end the call, they agreed to meet at the River Road hotel on the weekend.

Fitz was down at Denise’s house talking to her as Tula hadn’t come home from work yet.

“I saw Allison coming out of his house half naked. He was trying to pass it off that she just came to look for him. She slept with him last night, I’m sure about that. When I wanted to beat her, he prevented me. He called a taxi and sent her home. I know that she is one of his women.”

“He and I have never been able to see eye to eye. You said he accused you of wanting to leave him because Carl wanted you back. Are you planning on going back to him.”

“Of course not. Let him stay with Janice. All I want from him is maintenance for Carrie.”

Tula arrived in a taxi.

“I just saw Allison in Jack’s bus.”

“I caught her in his bedroom this evening. I wanted to fight her, but he called a taxi to take her home.”

“That guy is no good. I don’t know what you’re doing with him,” Tula opined.

“I’m leaving him, I can’t be bothered. He was just making some wild accusations. He was accusing me of wanting to go back to Carl. Then he was cursing Fitz. He said that he used to sleep with women on the Portmore, Jackson and Keswick back roads.”

“Any guy up here who drives a car and has never been on the back roads is missing something,” Fitz opined.

Jack came on the scene and saw Fitz talking to Tula and Denise.

“I know what you are doing. Tula is only playing like she’s along with you, but it’s really Denise who is along with you. You are just camouflaging the situation.”

“I know I’m not sleeping with him. The only thing I’ve done is to dance with him,” Denise countered.

“I’m the one he is sleeping with if you must know,” Tula stated.

“It’s just because I caught him red handed with Allison, why he’s behaving like that.”

“If you leave me, you’ll have to find somebody to support your baby for you.”

“Jack, you are a big liar. I get money from Carl for the baby,” she said as he jumped into his bus and sped away.
