Chapter One

Dania Green knew the type of man Demar Reid was. They used to be college lovers. She was a teacher at Keswick Primary school and he at the nearby high school. They were in a hotel room at the Hill View hotel in that community.

“If Scott finds out that I’m seeing you, I’d be in serious trouble with him.”

Demar knew Scott Dunn. He was a very disagreeable and loud-mouth fellow. He had about four

taxis plying the Keswick to Linstead route. He drove one of them. He also had a coaster bus on the Linstead to Cross Roads route.

“I told you to leave that guy and be with me alone.”

“Demar, we were lovers once, remember. When I was coming up here, I told you to come with me. Now you’ve just come after playing around down in St. Elizabeth. I don’t even know the amount of women you went to down there. I came up here, met Scott. He wanted to be along with me. You weren’t around so I just decided to be along with him. I can’t say I’ve regretted it as he gives me money, not as much as I would like, but maybe he will be more generous in the future.”

“You put money over everything. We both know that he has a lot of women.”

“I won’t let any man come to me without protection. That goes for you, and him too.”

“When we met first, we never use to use condoms.”

“I was just silly and inexperienced, but I don’t know what diseases you caught from those girls you were playing around with, so I’m takin precautions.”

They started playing around before they made love again.

The next night she went to sleep with Scott at his house in Norris. After they made love, he said he has something to tell her.

“Can’t it wait until in the morning?”

“Another woman is pregnant for me.”

“What, repeat what you just told me.”

“You heard what I just said.”

“Another woman is pregnant for you. You have three baby mothers already. This is the fourth. I don’t want to be caught up in all this baby mother drama. I’m tired of women telling me to leave you alone or how I’m shortening their children’s allowance. You told me that I was the only woman you were seeing.”

“I’m a very popular guy and sometimes these girls just push themselves on me.”

“And I suppose you can’t resist them. Why didn’t you use a condom?”

“She told me that she was on the family planning.”

“I suppose that’s another mouth you’ll have to feed, added to the three you already have. I think I might leave up here sooner than I planned to.”

“Why are you planning to do that?”

“I want to get away from you and this baby mother drama.”

“So, aren’t you going to have children?”

“I’m young, plus I have to be married before I consider that,” she turned on her side and dropped asleep almost immediately.

He also fell asleep shortly thereafter.

Saturday night, Janice Dixon and Carl Notice were at a part at the Keswick High school. Janice was a teacher at the high school. Carl was the public health inspector for the area. Denise King had a baby for him, but she wasn’t at the party. Denise was a nursing assistant at the Linstead Hospital. Lisa Price another of Carl’s women, was at the party too. She was dancing with Jack Little. She was a teacher at the high school while Jack was a minibus operator. Dania and Scott were also at the party and were dancing together. Demar was there with another teacher from the high school, Naomi Spence.

Later that night Dania went home with Scott. They made love until the late hours of the morning. Just before she dropped off to sleep, he asked.

“Do you and that guy, Demar, have something going on? He was just swooning over you. The whole time we were there, he just kept staring at you.”

“Maybe he was just admiring me. He is just one of my colleagues. I am a beautiful woman and I like when men admire me.”

“I heard that he is very wild. He was at a school in St. Elizabeth, and they had to ship him out as he was along with all the young female teachers.”

Dania started laughing.

“Not Demar, Scott, the girl who was dancing with him had to beg him to come to the party with her.”

They both dropped off to sleep a short time later and after arguing some more. They woke up in the morning to make love again.

Demar was at his house after making love to Naomi. They were resting up in bed when she asked.

“Are you and Dania lovers? I’ve heard that you’re sleeping with her.”

“Those are just rumors. There is nothing going on between us.”

“She was looking at you the whole time we were at the party. What about your woman in Linstead?”

“I don’t know how you can say that she was swooning over me, and she was there with her man. As for my woman in Linstead, we are giving the relationship a break. But we haven’t broken up. To tell you the truth, I suspect that she has a boyfriend over there.”

“So are you planning to do anything about it?”

“I just told you what I’ve done.”

“By the way all the female teachers at both the primary and high schools are very young. I heard that you have a reputation with women. How many of them are you seeing?”

Demar knew that he and Chris Arnold were the only male teachers at the high school. Chris

was a shy type of guy and had only one girlfriend. Linton Whyte and Ted Dawson were at the

primary school. From all accounts both men were going steady with their girlfriends who were

not teachers.

“Most of the female teachers are married and those that aren’t, are going steady with their

boyfriends.”

Fri.7.9.17-Carl and Janice were basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking. It wasn’t the

first time they were sleeping together.

“Denise saw me the other day and cut her eyes at me. I don’t know what that girl wants with

me.”

“Don’t pay her any mind. She is just a shy, introverted girl.”

“She wasn’t shy and introverted when she was spreading her legs for you.”

“You can’t turn back the hands of time.”

“She says that I want to take you away from her.”

“There is nothing going on between me and her. I give her money for the baby, that’s all.”

“Her bigger sister, Tula is always cursing me whenever we meet. I heard that you are seeing Petal Day from Norris.”

“Petal and I are just social friends.”

“That was the same thing you said about Denise until her belly started shooting up. Then you came with your bag of excuses.”

“It was a mistake with Denise, and it won’t happen again.”

They started playing around again before doing it a second tine. After that both of them dropped off to sleep. They didn’t wake up until late that morning.
