A self proclaimed god goes to war

It turns out the god can get irritated about the condition of the road. He is making the army smooth out the road so he does not feel so many bumps. They also must hunt for fresh meat for his meals. Regular rations are just not suited for someone of his holiness.

They took almost five days for a two day trip and that was only the border.

Just to piss him off further, Draco had his people flatten the road for a few miles to a perfectly smooth condition. Now the god is really fuming and orders the generals to capture the work crews. They need to work his roads. All others can die.

Their army formation is what was told. All generals riding at the front followed by the swordsmen. After that hundred were the hundred archers. The last was the horse drawn coach.

The column thought it was getting ready to rain. It was getting dark. Once they looked up, they saw the sky filled with dragons. King Draco landed in front and another that was carrying an elf landed behind him.

In his commanding voice King Draco addresses the army of Elves. “We are here to do one of two things. We will kill each and everyone. None will live or you can turn around and leave. On one condition. You leave the carriage and its contents here. You will unhitch the carriage horses and allow them to run free. Which will it be?”

There was no discussion. The generals ordered the horses be set free, “We are returning to our country.”

As they were leaving, it seems like the god had fallen asleep. Smooth roads. The generals were the last to pass the carriage and each took a swipe with their swords. Not to kill but to wake a god up. He opens the door to see their backs going in the direction of home.

The god then sees the dragons and quickly closes the door and locks it.

King Draco, in his full dragon form grabs the carriage in his talons. Now the god it contains is flying. The carriage is now in the courtyard of his palace. Draco tells me that I need to be the one to first confront the god.

I am now on the ground and approach the carriage. I find the door locked but I tug on the door anyways and I yell to the god, “I thought that you were going to slay king Draco personally. You need to come out. If you don’t have a sword, we have one for you. King Draco has accepted your request for a dual.”

Talking through the closed door, “Raval, my son, is that you?”

“You are only the seed doner. You never acted, even for one moment, like a father. These people that you have condemned as animals, have been more than a father than you have ever been. My wife’s father is now my real father. The goblins have shown me more acceptance and love for a son than you have ever shown. “

He still will not come out.

“King Draco, my sire, since he is the god. I feel that those who he dismissed should be the ones to confront him. Would you please do the honor and ask the gods to come here?”

Draco loves this twist. A real, self proclaimed, god verses the fake gods. he calls them. “Watcher I ask you to please come with all the other gods to educate this fool as to just what a god is really made of.”

She appears with the god of all, god of mercy, the god of fate and the god of wisdom. She also brought the matriarch Gabor. The matriarch takes her place beside Draco and speaks to all present.

“A challenge has been issued. That challenge was to the king but the real challenge is to the gods themselves. All are required to watch and then write what they see and hear for the chronicler to put into history. All watch a battle of the gods.”

With that, the carriage had vanished. The lone occupant is sitting on the dirt on his elf pride. “How dare you treat the god this way.”

Draco remarks, “Balls but no brains.”

The god of all calmly walks to him and now the elf is standing against his obvious bewilderment. The god of all now gets right up into his face and speaks, “You are nothing but a self inflated ass who has done great harm to his people by your actions.”

The king of Elvaden has now soiled himself. The god of all laughs and continues. “Normally you would be placed on one of the Watcher’s worlds or just sent to oblivion. That is not for you. You need to be taught what it is to be humble. You are going to be reborn on another world, you will not awaken until your tenth birthday.

Then all your deeds, all your statements will awaken and plague you because you will be born to a very loving family. Your new morals will be superior to your memories. You will see just what harm you have caused. If you succeed to right, in your new life, the wrongs you committed in this life, then and only then will you be allowed to go to the final life with this life erased. Enjoy being a mouse folk. They are the most loving of all the races. Just be aware that you will be a felid mouse folk.”

With that, he is gone.

The god of all now steps up to me. “Prince Raval, you are now the king of Elvaden as its rightful heir.”

I take to the knee then say, “I must respectfully decline. I am no longer a prince. I am happy to be just a humble servant of king Draco. He is a true king. He is fair, compassionate and just. My family is proud to live in his kingdom. Please choose one of the young elves to be king. You know them all. Choose one who has the same convictions and morals as king Draco.”

The god of all smiles. “I knew that you would answer just this way. I needed this assembly to hear your words of wisdom. You have found out that Mazze and your children are the greatest wealth there can be. This was the thing that the Watcher told you about when she said that you would be asked after the babies were born. You answered as we thought you would. Family is the most valuable thing that is in this world, in this universe.

King Draco, the kingdom of Elvaden has been hearing this. They are tired of that old elf attitude and will embrace your just rule. The elves were the first that your ancestor, Kron, gave self rule to. You now have the last piece of this world under dragon rule. The Supreme Creator made your race especially for this role. You have proven yourself wise. Your grandchildren will take this world to its final peace.”

They all disappear. Everyone is in shock but Draco breaks the somber mood. He lightly punches me on the shoulder. “Look at what you did. As if I did not have enough to do, you get them to finish the job.”

He huffs and looks like he is pouting but then breaks out laughing. The matriarch pats him on the back and just says “You poor baby.”

There are many more plots against the dragon rule but three of his grandchildren finish what was started by an elf and a dragon.
