His mom pretended to be Mrs. Crumble, speaking in a high pitched voice; “Oh thank you, young man! My cereal was getting lonely!”
They played for nearly an hour, navigating cardboard roads and laughing at silly mishaps. At one point, Theo’s dad landed on a “Spilled Milk” square and had to go back two spaces. Theo clapped with delight. “Daddy spilled it! Now Speedy Moo is winning!”
When Theo finally delivered his last bottle to the toy store, he jumped up and declared, “I’m the Merry Milkman Champion!”
His parents applauded, and his mom handed him a small sticker shaped like a milk bottle. “Every champion needs a badge,” she said.
Theo wore it proudly the rest of the day, even during lunch, where he insisted on drinking milk “like a real delivery man.” The game was packed away, but the magic lingered; proof that even on a rainy day, a cardboard town and a blue milk truck could turn a living room into a world of adventure.
