The interior was dimly lit with warm, amber tones. Wooden floors creaked underfoot, and the walls were adorned with antique tools, sepia toned photographs, and Americana memorabilia.

A stone fireplace was crackling nearby. Guests were playing checkers at rustic tables while waiting for a dining table. The hosts greeted Hiram with a smile and a "Welcome to Cracker Barrel!" setting the tone for a laid back, homey experience. It was part restaurant, part time capsule, and all about comfort.

Then Hiram saw that the smirking demons from “The Drug Zone” were now mixing with the habitues of “The Cracker Barrel,” allowed to be right on their home court.

The evil was permitted and pervasive. It was also big and Hiram knew that he needed a plan. ........... And a gun.
