If there was one thing missing in Zac's life it was the company of a companion. Years ago Jack and Zac had both said a fond farewell to each year not longer after the prom. Jack was unsure of his sexuality and did not want to pursue the relationship any further.

When he got older Zac went out to bars, occasionally hooking up with a boy here and there but not really enjoying the experience. He realised he was looking for something more and would not know what that was until it hit him in the face.

And that is when he met Alex.

They bumped in to each other quite literally, Alex depositing most of his drink over Zac. “Shit sorry mate didn't see you coming” he said apologetically trying to wipe down the mess he had made on Zac's shirt enhancing the problem.

“It's ok” said Zac “accidents happen!”

With that they introduced themselves to each other and Alex said it was definitely his shout. “So what's your poison?” he asked.

“A double of whatever you just made me wear on my best shirt will do just fine” answered Zac.

With that a friendship grew and not much later a relationship blossomed.

Visiting Summer Zac said “So Mum I have met someone and I can't explain how I feel, it is so hard to describe.”

“Love is a hard word to describe” said Summer “it's scary, it's wonderful, it is a whole jumble of feelings.”

“Love is such a strong word to use.” said Zac his brow furrowing. “I want to know I say it without making it sound like a shallow statement.”

“The fact that you feel that way and are hesitant in putting one foot in front of the other tells me you are already there. Take the leap Zac. If you do fall, it's worth the risk, trust me” his Mother said.

Zac took the leap and Alex was there to catch him.
