Falstaff thus receives a sound beating, and the wives are certain that the old knight must have surely learned a lesson by the experience. Using legal terms (lines 183-84: fee-simple, fine, and recovery) Mistress Page suggests that the devil may or may not own Falstaff’s soul. However, she is convinced that the knight will never again attempt to woo the wives.

The two wives then decide to tell their husbands everything about Falstaff, his wooing attempts, and their schemes to get revenge against him. And, if the husbands decide to take any further measures against Falstaff, then the two wives will assist them in that matter.
