Mr. Nortreus Met Black Girl
in the Toy Shop
“Do you have daughters?” A black girl asked him while he was admiring the dolls. “Hi beautiful!”
“I don’t have children, but I wish I did,” he replied to the girl who was there with her parents.
“Why?” She asked.
“But you don’t seem like you don’t have children,” the girl remarked.
“What makes you think I have children?” He countered it.
“Aren't you old enough? You look like a grandfather,” the girl stated.
“Really?” He responded with a smile.
Shortly after, the girl’s parents noticed she was talking to a stranger.
“Sweetheart, what are you doing?” The girl's parents asked her, puzzled by her conversation with a stranger.
“Father! Mother! Can I buy this doll?” She pleaded and changed the subject.
“Sweetheart, why don’t you look for another toy since this one is too expensive?” The girl's parents suggested.
Soon after, the girl and her parents moved to another section of the store to look at more toys.
Mr. Nortreus spent a few minutes exploring and admiring the toy store before he went outside to head home.
