CHAPTER 8: Your Worth Isn’t Measured by Likes

Jasmine sat on her bed with her phone. She looked at the pictures she posted.

Only five likes.

She sighed. Her friends got tons of likes. She felt invisible.

“Maybe I’m not cool,” Jasmine thought. “Maybe I’m not enough.”

She looked at the Moon outside. It glowed, even when no one looked at it.

Suddenly, soft silver light filled her room. It wrapped around her like a hug.

Jasmine floated up, up, up… to the Moon.

When she landed, Mr. Peters stood there with a kind smile.

“Hello, Jasmine,” he greeted her. “Feeling down?”

Jasmine nodded. “I didn’t get many likes on my post,” she said. “Maybe I’m not important.”

Mr. Peters shook his head. “Likes don’t show your worth,” he said. “You are special no matter what.”

Jasmine frowned. “But no one saw my picture.”

Mr. Peters pointed to the Moon. “See that? The Moon glows every night, even if no one’s watching.”

Jasmine looked up. The Moon was shining, proud and bright.

“You don’t need likes or follows to be amazing,” Mr. Peters explained. “Your worth comes from inside.”

Jasmine smiled a little.

“You shine with or without likes,” Mr. Peters said. “Remember that.”

The soft silver light wrapped around her.

“Be proud of who you are,” Mr. Peters whispered. “You’re enough.”

The light carried Jasmine back home.

The next day, Jasmine posted a new picture. She smiled in it — her real smile.

She didn’t check the likes this time. She already knew she was enough.
