THE NINE OF PENTACLES

img73.jpg

“The Lord of Material Gain”

Venus in Virgo

DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM

The solitary enjoyment of ones material accomplishments in life is imaged by this portrait of a graceful, aristocratic lady standing alone in her garden. Her beautiful robes are adorned with flowers and she stands in a lush and bountiful setting with nine pentacles adorning bushes already heavily laden with abundant fruit. On her gloved hand rests a hooded falcon and a small snail crawls towards her.  A fine manor house can be seen the background.

ASTROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION

The desire power of Venus acting in the earth sign of Virgo assures good fortune and a rich material harvest to those who work diligently  and  carefully  to  secure  a  comfortable foothold in life.

But even the realization of all desires also brings with it the inevitability of decay for time, even in a lush garden of peace and self satisfaction, crawls ever forward and in the end comes to overtake us all.

ORACLES

When Appearing Upright in a Reading

Your prudence, diligence and hard work will pay off in material success and you can enjoy the good life. An atmosphere of accomplishment surrounds you but it is wise not to become too complacent about your present success. An unexpected offer of material gain may be offered and you are advised to be especially cautious about those in whom you place your trust and confidence.

When Appearing Reversed in a Reading

An atmosphere of deception and bad faith surrounds you. You are in danger from thieves and may be facing the possible loss of your home or business. You are advised to move with caution and not become involved in any questionable enterprises that could lead to lengthy or expensive legal entanglements.

THE TREE OF LIFE

“The Foundation”

Often it is not until the affairs of our material life are set in order that we can devote ourselves to the progress of our emotional and spiritual growth - the true foundation of a successful life. It is when we become indifferent to the abundance we have earned or blind to the realities of the world that exists beyond our privileged sanctum that we succumb to the gravest spiritual blindness and have nothing left to stand on when the material foundation of our existence to dust crumbles.
