13. Many Embracing Positions
In the classic hugging meditation, both partners face each other, whether they are standing, sitting or lying. In this position, both partners can focus on receiving, as giving happens naturally. Another option is for one soul to embrace the other from behind, whose back is turned toward them. This allows the recipient to focus entirely on receiving. This position is similar to the way parents hold their child. For those who lack this loving, caring connection, this can be a deeply healing experience. This position can also be done while standing, sitting or lying down. Finally, the roles can be reversed, with the second soul holding the first in the same way.
Each of these basic positions has a different effect on both partners. We can take a moment to connect with our feelings before deciding intuitively what feels right in that moment. If we feel like changing position, we can communicate honestly and lovingly to decide together.
