“I have plenty of wood. What else can you trade?”
“Tanner has shells. Make decorations.”
“That would be acceptable,” she said.
“You take shells, go back into fort, be safe.”
Candace picked up a grey stone and said, “I see an eagle. I see a warrior with a club and a maiden with a long dress and long black hair. The maiden is wearing a shiny necklace made of silver and turquoise around her neck.”
“Look at eagle again,” Tanner said.
220
“It’s flying. There’s a fish in its talons. Near the eagle, a spirit is dancing. He has feathers on his legs. A dog with a bushy tail like a wolf is dancing with him. There are two lightning bolts in the sky near him. The woman has a club, too. There seems to be a heart here at the feet of the woman, and what looks like a crow above her.”
“Look again at crow.”
“It’s actually a platypus! The platypus is standing over the maiden. The warrior with the club is threatening her.” (In a trance session that took place long before meeting Candace, Marjie had revisited a lifetime in which she was a happy baby platypus who had to hide from a predator!)
Tanner said, “He is man with feet of clay who has nothing in his head. See hole in man’s head? See what is between man’s legs? I cannot speak of it to you.”
Candace said, “He has an erection. He’s pulling her hair. He wants to harm the platypus, too. The platypus is trying to protect her heart.”
Tanner said, “Platypus is Man to Come’s woman.”
Candace picked up a stone which was black in the middle and white on its circumference. She said, “The black is a buffalo, surrounded by light. A herd of buffalo is hiding behind the trees located between him and them. The buffalo is approaching the head of a maiden who is crying tears in her heart. There are four beaver pelts stretched near her.
“The buffalo is coming to her rescue.” (Marjie had previously been identified as the woman with long black hair. Unbeknownst to Candace, Marjie had birthed four sons (the beaver pelts), two of whom had died only hours after birth. She was also sad because, by their own choice, Tony and Bart were living elsewhere. Bart’s father, a drug dealing criminal who had severely abused her when they were married, was trying to interfere with visitation.
I had rescued Marjie from the clutches of another abusive ex-husband and had used regression hypnosis to salvage her broken heart with the help of entities residing in a parallel dimension.
Candace’s ability to symbolically perceive all of that while holding two small stones was impressive.

Tanner said, “Buffalo is Man to Come. Enough for now.”

Chapter Fifteen:
Night Of The Red Moon
Alta Sha informed us that the main story stone was also a map that represented parts of several Rocky Mountain states. The four moons Candace had perceived on its edge equaled the number of months it would take a horseback Indian to completely circuit the area depicted. He said we should travel to Aztec, New Mexico, arriving there no later than the night of the red moon, which would occur when the Earth’s shadow completely covered the full moon.
The next moon eclipse would occur on September 26.
Marjie and I were admiring our August full moon when Tanner said, “Good moon. Very powerful moon comes next month.”
“Yes, the red moon.”
After a few moments of silence he asked, “What wrong with red pony?” Our riding mower refused to start.
I said, “Red pony is lame.”
“Shoot lame pony.”
“We may be able to fix him so he can run again.”
“Bah. Pony no good. Get another pony.”
“It’s not a horse, it’s a machine. We can repair it.”
“Humph.”
“I was looking at one of the stones from Newfoundland a while ago and couldn’t see the platypus. Will you help me find it?”
“Tanner try. Will look at stone.”
I soaked the stone in water to clarify the faded stain, but we still couldn’t see the platypus. Tanner said, “Where big woman?”
“Big woman is two thousand miles away.”
“Woman should be here. Tanner not read stone, woman read stone. Stone is sad. Spirit of stone is dying. Pictures going away.”
“Would it help if the stone goes back to its home and is put in 223

the water there?”
“Yes.”
“Then I’ll send it to Candace. Maybe big woman can read stone again when she has it.”
“Show Tanner big rock. Bring map.” After turning a map of the Rockies this way and that, the stone’s shape didn’t seem to match the actual topography, and Tanner withdrew.
I estimated that traveling 30 or 40 miles per day, an Indian on horseback could go between 3600 to 4800 miles in four months. The stone might represent the Colorado Plateau, which includes parts of several states. Aztec is located near one of its edges. My concern about the expense of another long trip disappeared when coupons for discounted air fare and rental car fees arrived in the mail. When God has a plan, watch out!
One evening I was showing Nucleus 8 pictures of the Rockies and asked, “Do you like my pictures?”
“Yes.”
“I have taken a lot of mountain pictures. When I look at them I miss them and wish I was there.”
“I know of a mountain on the New Earth that is seventeen thousand feet high and always has snow at its top. Its name is Mount Haire.” Gratitude filled my eyes with tears and left me speechless. He said, “Share that feeling with me.”
I swallowed a sob and answered, “I had no idea my feelings about mountains are so strong. Chief Joseph loved his mountains.
To some extent, I think his feelings are coming to the surface.”
“I think you’re right. You have such exquisitely deep feelings.
We need more in the universe like you. Others said I should not tell you about it, that I should wait until you could see it for yourself, but I always thought I would tell you when the time was right and you needed to hear it. The time seems to be right.”
“I don’t know what to say. I know I will love it when I see it.”
Marjie said, “What an honor to have a mountain named after you!”
“Having it named after me doesn’t compare with the thrill of knowing it belongs to us.”
224
She asserted, “It’s only for you.” I wondered why she said that but didn’t pursue it, assuming the reason would be revealed at the appropriate time.
Adam greeted me the following morning. I asked, “What are you up to this morning?”
“Looking at my much honored father.”
“Your honored father?”
“I think it’s quite an honor to have a mountain named after you.”
“It certainly is. It’s amazing to think I will live there someday.”
“Why don’t you wear the necklace Tanner made for you to work today?”
“Okay.”
“I have been working on Mount Haire.”
“You have?”
“Yes, with some others.”
“What have you been doing there?”
“Sculpting.”
“Sculpting?”
“Yes, on the western slope.”
“I would certainly like to see what you are creating.”
“You will. I hope you like it.”
Later Nuke said, “Adam and others have carved your likeness upon Mount Haire to honor a history that will not be forgotten.”
“Won’t Marjie’s likeness be carved on the mountain, too?”
“Her monument is not carved in stone. It is a new star, shining down on the face of Mount Haire.” I thought, That’s one reason why he calls her Star One. He added, “At his own request, Chief Joseph is the caretaker of this mountain.”
I was counting Marjie down for another session when she said,
“Hold on. Wait a minute.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I see a bunch of little faces pressed against the window watching us.”
“Well, this is supposed to be a family session. It’s for all of us.”
“A family session?”
“Yes. I don’t know how, but I know something is going to be 225
Error! No text of specified style in document.
revealed about our trip that they need to know.” I finished the count.
Marjie said, “I’m looking at something like a black button, but I’m not sure if that’s what it is. It’s just black.”
“Reach out and hold it.”
“I can’t. It’s suspended in the air. I’m not supposed to touch it.”
I deepened the trance. “Now I can see it isn’t a black button, it’s a very old nail. It’s rusty and very black. It’s suspended above a hide. There are markings on the hide, but I can’t see them clearly.
It’s swinging back and forth like a pendulum. Now I’m lying on the hide, and the nail is swinging back and forth above me. It’s like I have become the hide. I hope that nail won’t fall down and hurt me, but it doesn’t look very sharp.”
She shivered. “I’m in a cave and I’m getting very cold. It’s really damp in here. I hear water dripping. It’s too cold in here. The sun is starting to peek over a wall across from the cave entrance. I’m being shown that at sunrise, an oval opening above the cave’s mouth lets the sunlight make a circle of light on the floor. I see blue sky through it.
“I hear feet scuffling to my right but I don’t know who’s over there. I can only see the backs of several dark figures. I think they’re men.” She shivered strongly and scratched furiously at her feet.
“Bugs are biting my feet, even though I have on stockings and shoes.”
Several suggestions to decrease her discomfort didn’t work.
“The sun is shining on me now. I’m getting warmer. I see glimpses of Tanner, but he won’t be still. He just comes and goes. Why is he doing that? I don’t like this.”
“He’s trying to communicate with you. Let him come. Don’t resist, just go with the flow. Find yourself a warm spot and tell me what you see when you look at the other people in the cave.”
“The figures near the wall have something on their feet, like boots made out of furry hides with laces holding them in place.
They have furs on their torsos, too. They’re using something sharp to scrape marks on the wall that remind me of Roman numerals.
They seem to be studying them. I hear Tanner. He says I’m wearing 226
city shoes but I should be wearing sacred shoes when I come to this spot. I don’t know what he means by that, but he says the shoes should be very old. I see him clearly. He’s so old and wrinkled he looks ancient. He’s sitting cross legged and shaking some bones he’s holding in one of his hands.” She asked him, “I see the images but I don’t know what they mean. Will you explain them to me? He says Listen to the sharp tongue that speaks truth. Look for a hanging blanket. This blanket is not for sale. It has gray and blue colors.
“I’m getting tired. I have to leave here. Call me back.” I did. She scratched the red spots like insect bites on her feet and ankles that quickly vanished. “I was aware that all our children were eagerly watching everything. I don’t know what it means. None of it makes any sense to me.”
“It’s like our other trips. We get clues we don’t completely understand until we get to our destination. We knew we were going to look for the cave Candace saw on the stone, so maybe that’s why you were there. The nail you saw could be connected with Vikings. They had black iron that would rust. Seeing it used as a pendulum over the hide, you becoming the hide, and Tanner saying listen to the sharp tongue that speaks truth may be a reference to refer to the pointer on the Ouija Board. I think you saw Vikings making runes on the wall of the cave, which matches what Candace saw on one of the stones. Fleas probably caused the bites you had to scratch.”
“The whole thing is still a mystery to me.”
“It will be fun to figure out what it means when we go back to the four corners country.”
I was reading about ancient ruins and did not fall asleep until 11:00 p.m. Seeking guidance from my angels, I began to meditate.
In my mind’s eye, I entered Alliance Headquarters (the Station), where I viewed exotic plants in the botanical area and caught glimpses of my personal system (like a PC but far more powerful).
My mental images became an automobile wheel, then an aircraft wheel, then the silhouette of an elk, and finally a tanned hide with markings on it similar to the one Marjie had seen in the earlier trance. I was surprised by the erotic feelings it evoked and 227
Error! No text of specified style in document.
remembered Marjie had felt herself becoming the hide.
No longer meditating, I opened Dr. Hank Wesselman’s book Spirit Walker and was amazed to read about him becoming sexually aroused while examining a tanned hide! I AM’s uncanny way of arranging such implausible synchronicities reminded me to leave all doubt behind when following the spirit trail.
On our way to town Marjie said, “I don’t understand why I have no enthusiasm for this trip and have no interest in the stone or the map on it. I want to know why I’m not getting the guidance that would make me feel like it’s important for me to go.” When back at home she wanted to compare the stone with our maps, but we still couldn’t find a definite relationship between them and gave up.
Alta Sha said, “You should look for Indian ruins in Bandelier National Monument near Bear Creek Mountain and Bear Point Mountain. You have all the information you need to find what you are seeking. Detailed maps at the park will help you find the trails you need to walk.”
“Why did Kathryn (our Ouija Board guide) tell us to start at Aztec Ruins if the cave we’re looking for is in Bandelier?”
“Perhaps you go there to find the direction you should take on the next spoke of your wheel.” He explained that what Candace had seen when examining the stone was like a reflection in a mirror.
In other words, everything was reversed! I was very irritated with him for not sharing this vital bit of information with us when we first began searching for a match to maps. Trying to keep my thoughts and feelings to myself didn’t work with Alta Sha, who said, “You did not need to search before this night. The true directions waited until you needed them. Are you happy with this?
What do you feel in your gut? Does it feel right to you? What does your angel say?”
Trying to follow Candace’s descriptions to the letter, I had ignored my own inclinations in previous searches of the maps. I now closed my eyes and searched within. “I feel we have the correct orientation now, but I don’t hear my angels saying anything.”
“You should use caution when traveling in this area. There are 228
spirits in the vicinity who crowd one another and have accidents.
Suspend judgment. Judgment will cloud your vision. Keep focused on your goal. Be sure to take the rock with you to work tomorrow.
I have joy because of the beautiful steps I have been allowed to place for you. You are blessed. Many seek such a treasure and do not find it. What motivates them?”
“Greed.”
“That is why they fail. Who leads you?”
“I AM.”
“That is why you will succeed.”
On the date the red moon would appear, we flew to Albuquerque, rented a car, and drove straight to Aztec National Monument, but it was already closed for the day. A wood panel attached to an exterior wall of the gift shop across the street was painted in shades of blue and gray to resemble a Navajo blanket. I said, “There’s the blanket that’s not for sale that Tanner said we would find. Alta Sha was right when he said I should leave my doubt at home and to suspend judgment.”
After booking a room at a bed and breakfast inn in downtown Aztec we went to a Mexican restaurant for supper. Seated near a window, we could see the mountains and the darkening sky. As we ate, the full moon rose above the peaks and slowly began to turn red. We finished eating and parked in a vacant lot that faced the moon, giving us a better view. A couple of minutes later a small plane at treetop level flew directly over us. Nuke said, “How’s that for an imitation? It could have fooled me.”
“Me too.”
The entire moon turned brick red. Marjie said, “Tanner is doing something.” As Tanner channeled, she began to rock forward and backward as if in time with a slow drumbeat. Tanner pointed to the moon and said, “Man to Come, fly there. Fly like eagle.”
I closed my eyes and became Gold Eagle, attuned to the spirit of He Rides the Wind. I envisioned flying to the moon, admiring craters and the barren landscape, and returning. Tanner said, “Tanner worship red sun in sky at night. Tanner will bless you in more ways than you can think. Tanner will force blessings on you and the 229

woman. Fly Tanner to moon. Tanner is no more.”
I said, “You can ride on my back.”
As Gold Eagle, I circled the moon and landed to let Tanner get off. It deeply grieved me to lose him as I returned to the car and resumed normal consciousness. Weeping, Marjie said, “I can’t lose Tanner! He is my foundation. I can’t stand to lose that old man.”
I forced words through the lump in my throat. “It’s his destiny.
I had no idea we were going to release him here.”
“He didn’t even say goodbye! I wasn’t prepared for this!”
“He might reincarnate. He may come back as a flesh and blood person that you can reach out and hug. Either way, he can still be your friend. Why don’t you go in spirit and be with him now.”
“I see him. He’s getting so big! He’s getting bigger and bigger!
This is just for him. I’m not supposed to be here.” Still crying, she returned.
I said, “Let’s talk to Alta Sha.” We nodded greetings as he emerged. I asked, “Will we ever hear from Tanner again?”
“Tanner will return. He has gone to the moon to be healed. His sight will be restored. You are blessed. We are all blessed.” What joyful news!
I thought Tanner might return when the eclipse was completed and found a great view of it atop a foothill. The eclipse was spectacular. The contrast between the receding red shadow and the brilliant edge of white light created a breathtaking image, enhanced by the bright white lights of several UFOs. Nuke said, “That’s quite a sight.”
“It sure is. Are those lights your guys?”
“Yes, they’re keeping track of us.”
Marjie asked, “What if Tanner can’t find us here?”
I replied, “Tanner can find you no matter where you are.”
Confirming my claim, Tanner enthusiastically said, “Softener of Skins is no more! I can see again! I am now One Who Sees By The Red Sun At Night!” We shared his joy.
The following morning One Who Sees By The Red Sun At Night (we still called him Tanner) guided us through the ancient ruins at Aztec National Monument. At the partially collapsed walls of a 230
compartment beside the plaza, he said that he and his devoted sister lived there for many years before the white man’s incurable disease nearly wiped out their whole band. With a few other survivors, they had moved northwest to the area around what is now called Tanner Mesa.
Anasazi pueblos contained kivas, circular chambers in which sacred activities were practiced. The larger the ruin, the more kivas of variable sizes are found. Aztec National Monument is famous for the Great Kiva, a beautiful example of their ancient architecture.
The half of it that protrudes above ground has a diameter of 48 feet and the half below ground is 41 feet in diameter. It is the largest fully restored kiva in the southwest. I estimated the floor to ceiling height to be about 20 feet. Its 95 ton roof is supported by four huge log beams resting on the tops of four square pillars made of alternating layers of masonry and wood poles. Transported from a quarry about 40 miles away, three or four limestone discs about three feet in diameter, eight inches thick and weighing about 355
pounds are stacked like pancakes near each of the pillars. Similar buried discs serve as foundations for the four pillars. Two rectangular containers about 3 feet deep, 5 feet wide, and 6 feet long are situated on opposite sides of the square formed by the pillars.
A raised, square adobe box about 4 feet long on each side is located in the center of the chamber. Above outside ground level, 15 rooms circle the central chamber, each one with a rectangular doorway that opens onto the plaza surrounding the kiva and another T
shaped entrance into the chamber with ladder rungs built into the wall beneath it. A whisper is easily heard anywhere inside the chamber. The strong spiritual energy there evokes a reverential attitude.
Tanner said the stone discs stacked near the pillars contain the stories of speakers who would sit on them while addressing their audience, and that I could hear them if I held my ear against one. I laid my upper body across one with my arms outstretched and my ear against it, but didn’t hear anything. Instead, I grieved over the loss of love shared and the ceremonies conducted so long ago and the tears fell. After a few minutes, I stood up and saw similar tears 231

on Tanner’s (Marjie’s) face. I gave him a consoling hug and asked,
“What are the long stone boxes for?”
“For making fires and for walking on fire.”
We left the kiva and took the walkway to the visitor center. One Who Sees By The Red Sun At Night picked up a small stone and put it in Marjie’s sock next to her left ankle, which was still weak from the sprain she suffered in Newfoundland. He faced me, took my hands in his, and said, “You have respect. You help Tanner.”
“I’m always happy to help my friends.” We hugged and he withdrew.
When we got to the car Marjie said, “My ankle is burning!
What’s this rock doing in my sock?”
I explained how it got there. “Tanner said he is going to heap blessings on us. I think he put healing energy into that stone.”
We were deciding what route to take to Bandelier National Monument when Nuke said he wanted to visit Dulce, a town on the Jicarilla Apache’ Reservation. We had heard rumors that to obtain knowledge of advanced technology, sinister elements of the dark U. S. government had allowed evil ETs to abduct and experiment on humans in an underground base there. Although we had had been warned to stay away from Dulce, Nuke promised to protect us from any danger. I didn’t think he actually needed our help to find out everything he wanted to know about such a base, but his orders to blend in with humans often caused him to use primitive devices such as autos, telephones, and handwritten messages. The frequent appearance of UFOs when he channeled and their response to his commands demonstrated his access to Alliance technology even when channeling. I was very curious to know if there really was a secret base, but also knew that ETs certainly did not require government permission to experiment on humans. On the other hand, having influence with humans in the illegal dark government might interest them. If true, any government officials who agreed to such an arrangement were committing a crime worthy of execution. From an ET standpoint, it only existed to placate the human desire to have mythical bargaining power.
We greatly enjoyed the spectacular autumn scenery of New 232
Mexico’s northern mountains and the company of Alliance crafts.
A small and very fast silver sphere paralleled our course at low altitude for less than a minute before it simply vanished. Several minutes later a silver sphere about 30 feet in diameter made a brief appearance.
At the outskirts of Dulce Nuke said, “I’m detecting a great deal of activity here. Drive around town and I’ll locate the source of the signal I’m receiving.” He directed me to a road leading to a relatively low, bench-type mountain. Several antennae with odd-looking devices on them projected from its top. We parked near the mountain’s base. “They detected my signal and shut theirs down.
There is definitely a base inside that mountain. We should leave before they send someone out here to investigate.”
It was time for lunch so we drove to an upscale motel and restaurant and parked a few yards away from a black van without license plates or cargo space windows. The male driver and passenger wore white shirts and looked around as if searching for someone or something. After half a minute or so, they backed out of their parking space and slowly drove away, still searching.
Pointing at the mountain, Nuke said, “They have started signaling again. I’m playing with them, trying to jam their signal with mine.
I can feel them trying to zero in on me but they aren’t succeeding. I think I’ll order up some scouts to investigate this area more thoroughly.”
Lunch was uneventful. Our next destination was Bandelier National Monument, which is next door to Los Alamos National Laboratory, where the first atomic bombs were created. A map supplied by the visitor center showed that a group of detached ruins named Tsankawi was located near the town of White Rock, where we obtained the only available motel room because of a last minute cancellation. It was too late in the day to fully explore the ruins, so we visited a city park overlook with a panoramic view of the Rio Grande valley and the sun setting behind a huge, extinct volcano.
We arrived at Tsankawi Ruins early the next morning. There was only one car in the parking lot. A brochure explained the 233

significance of numbered markers at intervals on the well maintained, looping trail to the surface ruins atop the mesa and then to caves carved into its sandstone side. I took a picture of channeling Nuke squatting beside marker #8. Sandy soil and rocks filled most of the surface ruins, rendering only the tops of stone walls. Marjie said, “Many of these dwellings were deliberately filled in so looters would have a hard time stealing artifacts from them.” Thousands of small potsherds were scattered over the grounds of this relatively large pueblo. Clearly happy to be there, Tanner said, “Man to Come, Tanner’s friend who helps him find stones, this is sacred place.”
The trail down the sloping side of the mesa passed many shallow caves, some of them enlarged for use as dwellings and storage spaces. Through centuries of use, ruts up to three feet deep had been worn into the sandstone. Tanner pointed at niches carved into the cliff at shoulder height beside the trail and said, “These for fire; help see at night.” Petroglyphs were carved on cliff faces, large boulders, and the insides of caves. Nuke said many of them depicted contacts with ETs. He said a circle with strange projections on its circumference enclosing a five pointed star depicted a satellite’s antennae and the bright light that shone from it. I took many pictures.
As we walked toward the exit I scrambled up a bare slope to reach the opening of a cave and crawled in. The roughly circular space was about eight feet in diameter and had a low ceiling that required stooping. Several niches were carved into the wall. I sat on the floor and was thrilled to see a deeply carved, life-sized face in front of me. I urged Marjie to come and see it. It was not like the rectangular humanoid figures seen elsewhere. The triangular face had large, concave holes for eyes and wore a headdress, which made me think it was a fairly realistic portrayal of the cave’s former resident. Marjie agreed that the almost human face might be a visitor from the stars and that the feather-like projections on the headdress might actually be the antennae of a communication device. Neither Nuke nor Tanner contradicted our guesses. I took more pictures.
234
Our tour completed, we drove toward the Visitor Center. In the distance, I saw a huge dish antenna aimed at the sky adjacent to the highway and assumed it was Los Alamos Laboratories property. I said to Nuke, who had channeled at intervals all morning, “Look at the size of that thing.”
He answered, “I think I’ll have some fun. I’m going to scramble their signal.” We negotiated a few more curves and suddenly were much closer to the dish, which was now pointing directly at us!.
Nuke said, “They’re tracking my signal. I’m outta here.”
He returned hours later. I asked, “What happened when your scouts went to check out that base at Dulce?”
“We scrambled their frequencies and they tried to jam ours, but they couldn’t. A couple of F-15s arrived with orders to shoot us down but gave up the chase when we disabled their weapon systems.”
Our military knew from the early ‘50’s that ET technology was far superior to our own because of numerous failed attempts to shoot down UFOs. To the best of my knowledge, no UFO had ever used deadly force unless for self defense and normally would evade or disable human weapons. I said, “What were those idiots thinking? It’s like attacking a battleship with a stick. Did they consider the terrible consequences we might experience if you guys retaliated with weapons they know we can’t defeat? If you guys were as warlike as most human governments, our military would have been destroyed long ago.” He didn’t comment.
Trails at Bandelier’s main campus led us to ruins that Marjie said were spiritually dead. Tanner expressed disgust over the use of cement in some restorations instead of the sand and clay mortar of his day. He led us over several low hills to a cliff that had caves like those at Tsankawi. Marjie felt one of them pulling at her so we struggled up through fallen rubble and entered it An opening in one of its walls led into an adjacent chamber of similar size. The blackened sandstone ceiling of the first cave was completely covered with rune-like marks and vaguely humanoid figures, faces, and geometric forms carved into its surface. Marjie exclaimed,
“This is the cave I was in before! There’s the hole over the doorway 235

that let the sun shine on the floor. It was also used to let smoke out.
That other room is where those men wearing furs were scratching grooves into the wall.”
“I wish we knew how to interpret these marks,” I said, and took several photos of the ceiling and walls. The other chamber’s walls and ceiling were totally covered with rune-like grooves.
I took more pictures. Alta Sha said, “This is the cave of her dream. Your pictures have captured more than you know.”
“The runes indicate that Vikings were here.”
“Alleluia!”
We exited the second chamber through another opening and followed an ancient trail to another cave. Near its entrance, I noticed an equilateral triangle carved into the stone at shoulder height. I asked Nuke if it depicted a portal; he said yes, but it was no longer active. I used my last two exposures to photograph runes filling a black band halfway up the inside wall of the cave. Alta Sha said, “Congratulations. Your journey is finished. You are greatly blessed.”
We made our way back to the main path and joined a guided tour to a large cliff ruin. It had been a windless morning but a strong breeze suddenly chilled us at the base of the cliff. Tanner said, “Feel my spirit brothers? They greet us.” I thought of Rides the Wind.
We climbed a ladder to a natural shelf under a massive overhang and were immediately attracted to a large restored kiva. We entered it via a wooden ladder through a square hole in the center of its flat roof and Tanner said, “This for babies. Not real. No spirits here.” We decided it was time to head for home.

Chapter Sixteen:
Didiwahtay
At home, Marjie and I agreed that something had been missing from our journey. After thinking it over, I said, “I know what it was.
We didn’t pick up a new spirit.”
Joseph commented, “That’s not true, daddy.”
“A spirit did join us?”
“Uh huh.”
“What spirit?”
“My new friend.”
“Is your friend with you now?”
“Uh huh.”
“What’s its name?”
“Didiwahtay.”
“Is it a boy or a girl?”
“A boy.”
“Is he someone you can play with?”
“No, he’s just a baby.”
“Where did he join you and mama?”
“In the cave with the medicine man.”
“The one with a face carved on the wall?”
“Yes. That man told me to take him with me.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Medicine man said, Shh! Shh! Not tell.”
“Why did he give him to you?”
“He said the baby was sick when his mother brought it to him.
She hoped he could cure it. She was sick too. She knew she was about to die and didn’t know what else to do. When the medicine man saw mama’s Light, he gave the baby to her.”
“We haven’t heard from Didiwahtay yet.”
“He’s too little. He can’t see good yet. He just has a little hair on 237

his head, but lots of it on his arms and shoulders. He’s been sleeping, but now he’s hungry.”
“Then we should get him a bottle of milk. Do you think he would like that?”
“You will think it’s for me.”
“No, you told me you have a friend with you who needs a bottle and I believe you. Would you like a bottle too?”
“Joseph is too big for a bottle.”
“I’ll be right back.”
When Marjie saw the bottle she said, “What’s that for?”
“It’s for Didiwahtay, Joseph’s new friend.”
“Who’s that?” I explained. She said, “I haven’t felt anything unusual. I didn’t feel anything special on this whole trip. I’m not putting that in my mouth.”
“Very well.” I sat beside her. “Can I speak to Joseph?”
“Yes.”
“Joseph, does Didiwahtay want this milk?”
“Yes.”
“If I put it in his mouth, will he drink it?”
“He’s asleep. I don’t know how to wake him up.”
“Try giving him a kiss on the cheek or tickling the bottom of his feet.”
With eyes closed, Marjie frowned like a whimpering, confused newborn who wasn’t sure that he wanted the plastic nipple, but when he tasted the milk he eagerly consumed it. I gently stroked his face and head and hummed a lullaby, which seemed to confuse him until I tenderly said, “Didiwahtay.” He smiled as I repeatedly sang his name to an improvised melody. Thinking his Higher Self would understand, I said, “You are now a spirit, and don’t have to be sick or hungry any longer. You are safe with people who will love you.” After drinking a few ounces, he stopped nursing.
Joseph said, “He’s sleeping again.”
“Let me talk to mama. You can take care of him while he’s sleeping.”
“I’ve been holding him.”
“Very good! You’re learning how to take care of a baby.”
238
I asked Marjie if she could feel Didiwahtay. “I did when he woke up. He’s very little. I have the feeling that he was sick when he died.”
“That’s what Joseph said.”
“He was considered to be someone very special by his people.”
“And now he has a very special mother.”
Around 3:30 a.m. Joseph said Didiwahtay was hungry again.
This time he didn’t hesitate to suck from the nipple. He smiled and made cooing sounds when I again sang his name several times. He seemed uncomfortable after drinking most of the milk so I patted Marjie’s back until he gave a mighty belch and quickly fell asleep.
So did I.
I was getting dressed for work when Perithnea said hello. I returned her greeting and asked, “What do you think of our new addition?”
“He’s very special. He’s a new spirit.”
“Do you mean that he’s never been human before?”
“Yes. His people were certain he was born to do great things.
They considered him to be a chosen one.”
“Is he a hybrid?”
“No.”
“I hope to be worthy of the honor of helping to raise him.” I now wonder if his mother was impregnated by a Viking, which would explain the hair on his arms and back.
Victoria, another loving spirit who often channeled through Marjie, said, “Do you remember the story that’s shown on the Newfoundland rock?”
“Certainly.”
“Do you remember the part about the baby?”
“Do you think Didiwahtay is the baby?”
“Yes.”
“Beyond his need for parents, I wonder why he was given to us.”
“Perhaps you’re supposed to take him to the teepee where he belongs.”
“What makes you think that?”
“It’s logical. You’re always transporting spirits.”
239

“That’s true. We’ll need guidance to take him to the right teepee.”
That evening Marjie and I used the Ouija Board to learn more about Didiwahtay’s destiny. I asked our guide Kathryn, “It has been suggested to us that Didiwahtay is the baby that belongs in the little teepee that was seen on the rock. Is this true?” The pointer spelled YES. “In how many months from now are we to take Didiwahtay to his teepee?” TEN. Kathryn told us to take him to the Hopi Reservation and to read books to him about his people and their customs.
Didiwahtay’s eyes opened the following night. He clamped Marjie’s teeth on the bottle’s nipple and shook his head like a hungry piglet. Each time I said his name he raised his eyebrows and he paid close attention when I read to him, impressing me with his speedy development.
In the morning he stroked my face before grabbing a corner of my shirt collar and sucking on it. When I gave him a bottle and crooned to him, he squeezed my finger, made soft, melodic noises, and smiled before going back to sleep.
At bedtime Marjie said, “I can feel Didiwahtay growing, and so is Joseph.”
I replied, “He looks directly into my eyes when I hold him.”
The following night he refused the bottle and imitated the sounds I made. He then made sounds that I imitated, and after we babbled that way for about a minute he exclaimed, “Dada!” He then made a garbled attempt to say Didiwahtay. In a couple of days, he learned the meaning of words like pretty, lights, finger, nose, hand, eye, and mouth. He also learned the names of primary colors, clearly said his name, and imitated me when I called Rufus, our cat.
He was fascinated when I played a tune on my harmonica and cuddled close in my arms until he fell asleep.
Alta Sha encouraged me to teach Didiwahtay Indian sign language. From a rudimentary library book, we learned the meaning of basic gestures and practiced using them when saying the matching words. Before long, we silently used the signs to express simple thoughts.
240
Marjie and I drove by a pasture one day where several horses were grazing. One of them was basically white but had smokey grey patches covering its head, neck, and rump. I stopped to teach Didiwahtay the word horse, but before I said anything he clapped his hand to his chest in the sign of ownership and exclaimed,
“Didiwahtay Cloud Horse! Didiwahtay Cloud Horse!” I said I would try to get Cloud Horse for him.
Candace informed us by telephone that she intended to sell her cottage, pay all her debts, and move back to the states. She asked Marjie to return to P. E. I. in order to help her with the necessary preparations, which would also mean more contact between her and Nuke. Marjie’s willingness to go was a major step in her personal growth that I encouraged. When the time to leave was near she wept, saying she already missed me. Didiwahtay put a finger on her tears and said, “Wakan Tanka (Great Spirit).” He pointed out the window at the dark clouds and said, “Look for black cows.” He called our partly black dogs black cows because the dairy cows in our neighbor’s pasture were mostly black. He was telling me to bring the dogs inside because Wakan Tanka’s tears were about to fall. Didiwahtay chose to remain with me when Marjie went to Canada. When she returned with Candace a couple of weeks later, he made the sign for love to me.
In another synchronicity, I was reading an article on November 11 about Oklahoma’s controversial Heavener Rune Stone which some attributed to Vikings. According to one interpretation, the runes referred to the date of November 11, 1012! Since the Viking settlement at L’Anse aux Meadow is thought to date from around 1000 C. E., that date is plausible.
I asked Candace for her interpretation of the Heavener runes.
She said the date indicated was actually 11/11/1101 and that other content vaguely referred to the end of the world. My ears perked up because years before a patient told me that he had repeated visions of the number 1101, which he thought had something to do with the end of the world!
I was eager to hear Candace’s interpretation of the petroglyph photos taken at Bandelier. In spite of knowing how important this 241

was to me, she kept them for several days without comment. Marjie said, “Tanner is saying he wants to take a spirit walk with the big woman through the pictures we took at Bandelier.”
When Marjie and I told Candace what Tanner wanted to do she said, “I saw someone looking in the window a while ago.”
“What did he look like?”
“He was an old man, not very big, with very dark skin.”
“It was probably him.”
Marjie closed her eyes. Tanner said, “Tanner want big woman read pictures.”
“I’m not ready to read them yet. I’ll read them tomorrow.”
“Go get pictures. You read now!”
“Very well, I’ll get the pictures.”
Tanner looked at me. “Big woman bossy. No boss Tanner.”
Upon her return Candace passively watched Tanner and I smudge until he ordered her to cleanse herself. When she finished he said, “Remember fort? Get in fort.” She nodded. To me, he said,
“Go get box that talks. Make sure it still alive.” I did. He said to her,
“Now tell what you see in pictures.”
She said the carvings in the first Bandelier cave were a celestial map. Lines radiating from Sirius, the brightest star in the Orion constellation, depict a pathway to our solar system and to Earth. “A very important woman points the way to a portal leading into another dimension. This portal is in a place where there are many flat lands and where there seems to be a lot of wildlife. As you come into this other dimension, momentarily you will be able to see where you are going to go. You have to be in this flat land in order to go through this portal, and once you go through this portal and you see where you have to go, you’re going to see mountains.
“I hear the wind blowing through grasses that surround us on the plain we are standing in. I hear the distant call of an eagle. It’s a shrill call. I don’t see it, but I hear it. I hear, I hear, oh, what is that sound? It’s a lonely, howling sound…It’s a long, low, lonely, howling sound. There are mountains. Here is the base of the mountains where the rivers flow and where the buffalo drink. Only when the shadow of the mountains falls upon the river will you be 242
able to see the entrance to a cave.”
“One mountain or twins?” asked Tanner.
“Two mountains that are the same, and there’s another smaller mountain behind that can’t be seen unless you climb the other two.
I’m looking at this like I’m looking down on it.”
“Back to cave.”
“Okay. This is a physical entrance. It’s not a portal. Can I go in?”
Tanner nodded. “Spirit is moving me within the opening. It’s a large, large opening. It can’t be missed, but you won’t be able to see it until the shadow of the mountains is falling on the river. It’s about a third of the way up on the mountain. There’s a large ledge, several miles worth of ledge, at that point and you come to the opening, and as I walk in, oh my goodness, oh my! I don’t even know where to start! I’m standing at the entrance and I am looking down. It’s very important that you do not walk in and continue walking, for there is a sudden drop off. You have to walk along the edge and there seems to be a gradual decline to the floor of the cave as you walk in. I don’t know what it is, but there’s a whole lot of wood inside the cave, and it’s shaped like something. It’s like somebody had built a huge receptacle inside the cave. It’s too dark to tell what it is.”
“Walk up to it.” Tanner ordered. “Light torch.”
“I see pieces of cloth hanging from tall staffs or tall pieces of wood that are planted within this receptacle. It seems to be in relatively good condition, not weathered or aged in any way. It’s like it’s almost new. The wood is bent to come together at certain points. It almost looks like a ship. Like a boat.”
“Light torch.”
“I have the torch but I can’t see all of it because the torch isn’t bright enough. This is too large. If I go up to a higher point with this torch, I can see the whole thing, and it is! It’s like a ship of some kind! And I see the sails still hanging. I don’t see anything else. I get that it’s blessed.”
“See remains.”
“Remains of men? There are bones, there are bones about, but they don’t lie together to form a human skeleton. They are 243
Error! No text of specified style in document.
scattered.”
“The bones of my brothers,” Tanner said.
“Your brothers? I see the skeleton of a hand, and it’s holding a large spear of some kind.”
“Go to entrance of cave and look out. Say what you see.”
“The sun is on the other side of the mountain from where the cave is. It’s very early, like seven or eight o’clock in the morning.
The other side of the mountain is east. I’m facing roughly west. Can I go back into the cave?”
“No.”
“I have the instinct to continue up the mountain.”
“Go outside cave.”
“I’m on the ledge outside the cave. The ledge is quite wide. Quite treacherous, but quite wide, and I’m following it up and I’m coming around the side of the mountain and into the sun. There’s an opening…”
“You go North?”
“I’m coming around to my right, toward the north and around to the east as I come around to face the sun. And I’m almost at the top of the mountain now and there’s an opening, but it’s not a cave, because it doesn’t have a top. It’s like the top is broken off and I can walk in quite a distance before I am enclosed in a chamber or a cave.
It’s like a piece of the mountain was sheared off, and I walk right into a very large chamber. And I see a lot of skeletons, whole, entire skeletons all around as though they just died where they were sitting. There doesn’t seem to have been a conflict of any kind. They don’t seem to have been injured. They seem to have died for no apparent reason. They are sitting very formally, as though they had been sitting around in a circle, like in a program or a discussion of some kind.”
Tanner commanded, “Leave cave. Get in fort. Look at pictures.”
“Okay… I have to have a minute to get back into my fort. Uh, I’ve come around to the other side of the mountain, and as I look out, I need to come back down? I am down by the river. Is that where I am supposed to be? I’m just supposed to follow the river and stay away from the mountain?” Tanner said nothing.
244
“There’s a valley. I’m not grasping this. It’s like I left this point and went to another place. I’m not near the river I was near before.
It’s almost as if I left that dimension and have come back within this time frame, and I seem to be back on the plains that I left.”
“Describe the area.”
“A great expanse of flat lands.”
“Draw it tighter.” Tanner said.
“If I draw it tighter it seems to turn into an opening. It seems to turn into a funnel almost that brings us down beneath the earth into an opening of some kind.”
“You want map?” Tanner asked.
“I saw maps on the walls of those caves.”
“Want map?”
“I guess so. Yes.”
“Man to Come, get map.”
She examined the map. “Yes. Chaco Wash. It’s somewhere along here as we come down and follow the Chaco Wash. There’s uh...uh...This is too big. There’s like a little, it’s not a river, it’s a road, and right in around here somewhere. It’s not a road, it’s a trail. It’s a trail that has been followed for centuries, and I don’t’
think it is a trail that has been followed by humans, but a trail that’s been followed by animals when they come down to the river to drink, and that’s what we must follow. It seems that at this point
…there’s a small mountain. It’s almost like a big hill, and there’s an entrance that’s partly above the ground and partly below the ground, but the ground seems to dip at that point as you are coming around this large hill. So you can come down into this area, but (the cave) is very obscured, not easy to find. You could pass it a hundred times and not see it. You think it’s just a small opening in the rock that’s insignificant, but when you come closer, you see it is a full-size opening into a cave. When you enter the cave...”
“Don’t enter cave.” Tanner said.
Looking at the pictures of the Bandelier cave petroglyphs and runes again, she said, “I’m at the entrance… It’s long and narrow…There seems to be a lot of spirit protection around this cave. This indicates a large eagle. See the eagle head and the 245

wingspan? It almost has a human head. Whoever in your life represents the eagle, I would say that his spirit is guarding this cave, and he always seems to be in flight. I would say down here, this seems to be the spirit of a buffalo. This is a huge, huge buffalo as you can see, guarding the other side of the entrance… It’s almost as though this being or creature that’s embedded in this rock is telling us to continue on past these entrances…There is also an indication that there is extreme protection from spirits around there. All of the message is not written here or else I’m not able to read it as good as I should.”
She looked at the photos of Tsankawi petroglyphs and said,
“What I am seeing here is a creature, probably a male, and I see several craft, traveling mechanisms, whatever they are, that have landed. And there are several smaller creatures if you look closely enough…The male has probably just come off his craft and there is another craft right down here in the corner, and I believe that these arrows are indicating that these craft were once way up high and they came down from the sky.”
She suddenly looked over her shoulder and said, “Who are all these people here? I see them behind me, and I know Nucleus is over there, but who are these other people here? Is it okay for them to be here? I shouldn’t be apprehensive of their presence?” Tanner didn’t reply.
I knew they must be benevolent if they were with Nuke and asked, “Are you saying that this is a craft, even though it looks like a deer, and this hand is, too?”
“Yes. This whole area shown here seems to be a center of communication in order to keep contact with each other while they are on Earth. There is another picture that indicates that this is not where all the events took place. Where the drawings are is not where it happened, and I don’t know how far away it was, but it may have been relatively close. I believe the spiral is the sun and I believe that coming around the corner, there is a lot of equipment standing in that area, so much that they didn’t draw it all, just little bits and pieces of what they saw.”
Tanner said, “Identify picture.”
246
“Number seven. There are at least four people standing there and the tree-like drawings, there are two you can see clearly, are forms of communication to talk to people coming in or leaving. I believe this was a whole contingent that arrived at one time, not just bit by bit. In picture number thirteen, this seems to be a container of some kind. It looks like a satellite or even a space saucer of some kind, but I believe it is a container that was placed in the cave that I am not allowed to go into. You can see faces around it. I don’t know what’s in it. There seems to be more knowledge in it than anything else, a lot of directions. You may find some charts or maps that were drawn in that time. This fellow is like a second lieutenant on picture four. There’s no doubt he is a male. In his left hand, he is holding some kind of a weapon or communication device. He’s not the head honcho. He’s directing operations to get this whole system set up, to get this container into the cave.”
Looking at the face carved on the wall of the cave at Tsankawi, she said, “Here is the big guy. You know who this man is. He is someone familiar to you; you know him. It’s not 8.” She looked at Tanner, who was still channeling. “Is it you?” He didn’t answer.
“Quite handsome, don’t you think? Those are feathers. No they’re not. You’re not a Native American! You never died! You’re not a spirit. You may be an old man, but you haven’t died yet. Your age is very great and you are from a galaxy beyond ours, and you are a good friend of 8, and your name is not Tanner…and those are not feathers.” She pointed at the portrait again. “That’s a helmet, some kind of device you wear on your head for protection as well as for communication and identification as to your position. You are still living and your identification number is nine. You are of a species of beings that has great intelligence and your species has been traveling back and forth to Earth for tens of thousands of years.
Your age is beyond ten thousand years. Can I find your name in these photographs? Am I right? You’re not saying. Have I told something I shouldn’t have? I don’t know where to go with this. I think I’d better stop. Tell us what your name is besides Tanner.
Shall I say it? What is it in your world? I know what it is. Shall I 247

reveal it?”
“You not in fort.”
“I’m still firmly ensconced in my fort. Has all I said been wrong?
Do you deny it? You knew when you told us this was you that these revelations might come out.”
“Woman speaks too many words.”
“Are they true?”
“Woman speaks too many words.”
Candace persisted, “We have established that this is Tanner and he is the one who directed this whole operation. This is picture number twelve. It indicates a lot of beings scattered around as though establishing a perimeter. Whatever is contained in this box is very important and there are an enormous amount of people protecting it. This is picture number one. Again this shows the establishment of a perimeter around this cave where the box is placed. Picture number six shows the box again. People are placing things into it; you can barely see it. This is picture number eleven, again establishing the perimeter. To summarize, there are caverns to be found at the Spanish Peaks and at Chaco Wash which contain things of great interest. If they are revealed, their significance would be Earth shaking.”
Nuke, quite angry, said, “I am surprised and disappointed that you blurted out information about the identity of a Board member without his permission.”
“I thought if information was revealed to me it was because I was supposed to reveal it to others. I don’t think I did anything wrong in revealing what Spirit showed me. There were many other things I was shown that I did not tell.”
“You know the protocol for revealing information about Board members, and how important our right to privacy about personal information is to us. You put Tanner in a very uncomfortable position. What bothers me most is you persisted in challenging him about his identity when he clearly didn’t want to discuss it.”
“I think it would be best for me to go back to the cottage now, since I only seem to be doing the wrong things here.”
I said, “Thanks very much for your help. This is the best birthday 248
present I could have had.” I gave her a hug.
Because of 8’s criticism, Candace later declared she was going to Atlanta and packed her few belongings into her car. I was fed up with her manipulative lies and silently looked forward to her departure. At the last minute, she asked Nuke if she could redeem herself. He replied, “We will have to recreate the situation. Perhaps Star One (meaning Marjie) will be willing to ask Tanner to return and I will seek Mother (Metatron). Candace can call upon White Eagle (a benevolent spirit guide) and any others that were here.”
I felt Mother’s touch as we gathered to hear Candace’s formal apology. Tanner lit the smudge ingredients and said, “Sage is the smoke of the spirits of departed souls. Sweet grass is the hair of Mother Earth. The fire will stay lit only if truth is spoken here.”
After we bathed in the smoke Candace said to Tanner, “I want to apologize to you for the way I acted yesterday. I thought I was supposed to reveal what I had been shown and I offended you. It wasn’t my intention to do that.”
Mother said to her, “You wish to speak to me?”
“I will do whatever you require to make amends.”
“And what will you offer to bind your words?”
“Whatever you request.”
“You do not remember what I previously requested?”
“If I do not keep my word, I will forfeit Nucleus 8’s life.”
“Very well. You should leave your old ways behind. They are not good for you. Learn new ways, the ways of Nucleus 8’s society.
This will lead to happiness for you. Is there some other thing that you desire?”
“I would like to know how I can get over this antagonism I feel toward you. I don’t understand it and I want to get over it. Can you explain it to me?”
“You fear perfect love. Step within me.”
To me Mother said, “Step deeper within me.”
I eagerly accepted Metatron’s invitation, and in my mind’s eye I was surrounded by large spheres of translucent pink Light. I saw the familiar arched hallway inside him and suddenly knew that it led to the Board of Twelve’s conference room.

Mother said to Candace, “Do you see the city?”
“Yes!”
“Describe it.”
“It’s very beautiful. The buildings are so tall!”
“Look straight above your head and tell me what you see.”
Candace sighed, “Oooh!”
Mother said, “I detect no negative emotion within me. Your word is accepted. Eight will now descend to you. Nucleus 8
remains bonded to you.”
Candace opened her eyes and exclaimed, “Eight!”
His eyes brimmed with tears. I hugged his shoulders with my right arm and said, “It’s all right.”
After regaining his composure Nuke asked, “May I approach her?”
“Of course.”
I left them alone for a couple of minutes until invited to join them. I said to Candace, “The proper attitude for anyone who approaches a Board member or Mother is humility. The survival of all who live at the Station depends upon everyone’s honesty and commitment. In many ways, the Board is like the council of elders in Native American tribes. They embodied the best qualities of their culture and were always concerned with the welfare of all the people who depended on their wisdom. They were not to be argued with like we do with elected politicians. Once they agreed upon a well-considered course of action, one either had to obey it or leave the band. Tanner was highly revered by his people when he lived on Earth. When you approached him you sat at his feet in silence until he spoke and you did not leave without his permission unless it was a matter of life and death. Those who listened to his words carried them in their hearts forever. That’s the kind of respect he expects to receive.”
Candace gave me a hug and said, “You are wonderful, Rex.”
“I just try to do the will of Breath.”
A day or two had passed before Nuke said to me, “Nine is ready to meld his mind with Candace’s so she can give you more information concerning him and our mission.”
250
“That’s great. I have many questions about the information we’ve already received. I’m trying to understand the relationship between Tanner as a Native American and 9, who’s been a Board member for thousands of years and is not of this Earth.”
“If Candace consents to melding their minds, some of your questions will be answered.”
Marjie said, “I’m getting that all the information we are seeking is contained in the Sacred Stick Tanner told us to make.”
“Rocks that Slide told us to make the stick.”
“It’s hard for me to separate Rocks that Slide from Tanner.”
“I know what you mean. They’re so much alike I think they may be different manifestations of the same Oversoul, like you, Star One and Victoria.”
Candace agreed. I fetched the sacred staff and we gathered around the low coffee table. Bending my knees was painful, but I said nothing about it. Tanner prepared the smudge ingredients and said to Candace, “Will use only one match to light fire. If fire does not stay lit, it means truth is not being told and Tanner will have nothing to do with talk.” He placed the smoldering mixture in the middle of the table. He and I smudged in turn. Candace moved the container closer to herself but Tanner moved it back to its original position, saying, “You better pray smoke does not die.” With a perplexed expression, Candace cleansed herself with the smoke rising from the nearly dead embers. Tanner took the Sacred Staff from me and I was preparing the recorder. He said, “Be still. You make sacrifice.”
I asked, “Do you want me to make a sacrifice?”
“You in a posture of sacrifice. No make sacrifice.” I gratefully pulled up a chair and sat down.
Holding the staff horizontally, he forcefully shoved it toward startled Candace, who leaned away. She straightened up, slowly grasped it and gently placed it on her lap, as if to exaggerate the difference between them.
Apparently their minds had already melded, for Tanner said,
“Tell what you see!”
“I see a small man. Black hair, coppery skin, dark eyes, lines of 251

wisdom, far seeing. He looks young but he isn’t.”
He said, “Speak all what you see.”
“I saw you as you really are the last time, and when I spoke the words I got into a lot of trouble and I was punished.”
“Now you speak freely.”
“It’s not a trap,” I said.
“It’s rather difficult after all I went through before. I see a very old man, very tall, very large, endowed with great wisdom where energy and sources of energy are concerned. I see his symbol, which is the number 9, and I see his name and I see him as part of a group. He carries a large staff. He’s very well respected and has intimate knowledge of the things he pursues.”
“Tell more.”
“About the man that I see?”
“Tell all.”
“His name is Mishaka. That’s not the right pronunciation but it’s as close as I can get. It’s a word in the language of the species this man is from, which denotes a large bird native to his planet. He represents this bird. This bird has strange appendages at the front edges of its wings very similar to claws, and the wingspan is quite large.
“When he came to Earth he was with a great many people and they brought with them a container, a box, a chest, that was put away and hidden. There were directives and messages left as to where to find this chest. The beings he arrived with came as a tribe of native Indians but they really weren’t. The tribe existed only during the time that they needed to hide and camouflage the container.
“The container holds enormous information and directives for the creation of various sources of energy. It also holds formulas and information about metals. It contains things that were placed into the box on a whim, on your whim, and that’s all I can see.”
“Smudge again. Touch bag at bottom of stick. What is in bag?”
(It held the ashes left by burning pictures of our loved ones.)
“Something crinkly. I don’t know what it is.” After a brief pause she added, “These are souls. Many people.”
252
Tanner held up four fingers. “Only four.”
“I’m sorry, but it seems like many to me.”
“Represent many. Now hold bones. What are bones?”
“These bones are not of this Earth. There’s something about them.”
“Those are raccoon bones,” I said.
She replied, “I’m getting that there were other bones that were not of this Earth and they are in the container. I see with my third eye that there was a great bird that you were associated with on your home planet. It was a very large bird that had something like talons along the front edge of its wings, like a pterodactyl. It had finger bones which had large talons at the ends. The bones with the talons are in the container that you (referring to me) are to find.
They have no special significance except to indicate 9’s respect for this great bird.”
She felt of the next bag, which was made from a mink’s pelt and contained relatively pure dirt from an old cemetery. “This is not of this Earth. It has something to do with the spirit world. It has something to do with bones.”
“Close enough.” Tanner said. He pointed to the moccasins above the bag. “What are these?”
“They are containers of dust. They carry dust.”
“How many you see?”
“Foot coverings, two of them, but they have much dust.”
“Many feet. Much dust. Very well. Now get in fort. Tell all you see in this stick.”
“This stick once belonged to you. It was a symbol of your leadership, but it is also a story of what is in the container. It is also the story of you and your people. You came to Earth and pretended to be Indians, but you weren’t. You were beings of pure energy who could assume any form. You adopted a human form so that you could blend into your surroundings, but also because there was something you wanted to keep hidden, to protect, and that is what you put into the container. The souls of departed ones are what you put into the container. They are your relatives. They have been in the container for a very, very long time, along with certain 253

information.
To me she said, “When you go to find the container, there will be an element of danger. There are those who do not want the container to be found. They don’t necessarily want it for themselves. They have a general idea of where it is but can’t locate it precisely. I see that in order to find the container, you will have to find the place where the river ran the deepest. You would recognize this point because there will be the skeletons of many snakes there. That’s why the snake bones are on the staff. Also the raccoon is known as a thief. There may be something in the container that was stolen. Perhaps stolen to protect it because it was so valuable, or perhaps, there is something in the container that others would try to steal if they could find it. To find the cave, someone would have to stand in what used to be the deepest part of the river early in the morning, facing the sun. When the sun comes up over the horizon, there will be a brilliant flash of light, almost like a little explosion, that will come from the container.
Something about sunlight causes the container to shine brighter, which will point the way. You will see very large, black birds circling when the sun rises at the location where it is to be found.
“There is a glow in that area. I want to say radiation, but it isn’t dangerous like the radiation that we know. It’s beginning to show through now because it has been in that box too long. When the sunlight touches on that glow, it creates a flash and this is what’s going to show.
“There are beings around the cave guarding the container. They are very white and their skin is rough, and they have rather large heads. They are humanoid. There has to be a lot of protection around the container because there are many who would like to find it. There are other people looking for this who are not of this Earth, and they may try to follow you.”
To Tanner she said, “You know who these people are, don’t you.
They are a species of the reptiles although they don’t look like reptiles. Their blood is very cold, however. At the entrance to the cave, I see an animal, a very large animal.”
“Look at feet.” Tanner commanded.
254
“It has very large feet with black fur. There are four of them, two and two. It’s not an animal, but two people standing side by side.
They’re wearing this strange kind of foot covering that is very furry and black. They come up to the knee and are laced with leather. It reminds me of the kind of things the Norsemen wore on their legs.
They appear to be standing on the ground but actually their feet aren’t touching the ground. These are sentinels standing next to each other.”
She paused for a minute before adding, “All of the things that are seen are somewhat symbolic, but they are really going to happen. It’s going to be up to you to write the sequence of events, and you are only going to know the sequence as you do them. It’s like you’re writing the sequence after the fact. And as you go over your list, looking for the next event, the next event is only going to be told by the sequence that you’ve already written down. When you have all the information, it isn’t coming to you in the sequence that it’s supposed to come. So as you go through each step, you will have to make a note of it and have to go back to the information you have.
“It’s like a hit and miss situation but it will come to you very quickly. When you find the container, it will be suspended. There are two long staffs that run through the container and hold it suspended above the ground. The staffs are supported by some logs. The container is rather large and shaped like a big disc. There are words written on the top and sides of the container which will indicate how you are to open the box. I can see the writing, but I don’t know what they say. They are not of this Earth, but you will be able to decipher them.
“You are going to need a great deal of protection with you. It is important that you understand that you must open the container very, very slowly and from the back side. It’s important that the energy in the container be allowed to flow out before it flows around you. You would not be able to withstand the power of this energy. The energy itself will not harm you but the concussion it creates when it flows out of the box could, almost like an explosion.
You are going to be faced with more information than this world is 255

probably prepared to absorb. There are indications of people on Earth at this moment who are going to be able to help you with all of this. You will know who you have to talk to that can decipher a lot of this information and help put it together.
“It’s a great struggle for me to remain within my fort. I want to leave and run because the danger is so great, coming from all directions. I think danger is the wrong word. It’s just that you have to be very, very cautious.” She said to Tanner, “Perhaps you can say better than I can what precautions need to be taken. Shall I go on?”
“Go on.”
“Nine has great knowledge and wisdom, and he’s the leader, the ruler of the entire galaxy from which he comes. He has chosen the number nine because in his society nine is a non number, and he wishes to be obscure. Nine suits him. His greatest downfall…may I say that? His greatest downfall is his compassion. He is very tender hearted and tries to hide it. He has great compassion for beings of all kinds.”
“He has good heart,” Tanner said.
“He does indeed. He finds it difficult at times to discipline those who wrong him. In that sense only is it a downfall.”
“Not downfall,” Tanner said.
“Perhaps not. That was the wrong term. The entities which make up his society can adopt any form they choose, so when this container is opened perhaps you are releasing more than just energy. The energy may become something else when it is released.
Perhaps it is beings and it is time for them to come out. Perhaps, it is time for them to put to use the knowledge that the world is ready to absorb.”
Tanner put his finger to his lips. “Enough words. Be quiet.”
After a few seconds Candace started to say more but Tanner shushed her again. After five minutes of silence, he said,
“Sometimes woman speak too many words.”
“Have I said too much now? I’m sorry.”
“No add words.”
Confused, she looked to me for clarification. I said, “He didn’t 256
say that you have spoken too many words today. He said sometimes you speak too many words. Don’t add more words to what he actually said.”
Tanner smiled at her. She gently extended the stick toward him, but he forcefully grabbed it in the decisive Indian way and then abruptly handed it to me. “Man to Come, you care for stick.”
Smiling, I returned his farewell nod to me and Candace.
A change in Marjie’s expression showed Nuke was channeling.
I asked, “Do you know what’s in that container?”
“I do not, but I would love to find out.”
“If Candace is right about the dangers involved we will need a lot of security when we go to find it.”
“Then I had better be there.”
Candace said, “White Eagle is wearing a new uniform.”
I asked, “How is it different?”
“Before he always wore black clothing with his shining white headdress, but this time he was dressed entirely in white.”
“He’s been promoted,” Nuke said.
“Yes, but why?” she asked.
“He no longer mourns for you.” White Eagle was pleased that Candace had turned away from the flattery and false advice that John, a deceptive spirit guide, had been giving her for years. It was a major and essential step in soul growth and for the benevolent use of her psychic gifts. I lifted my glass in a toast to White Eagle.
Not long after that breakthrough Didiwahtay drew a picture that included him, me and Candace standing side by side. He and I were holding hands but Candace and I were not. He said,
“Didiwahtay needs all hands to touch.” With sign language he indicated that Candace was his mother and when I said no, Marjie was his mother, he insisted it was true.
I asked Candace if she objected to being Didiwahtay’s second mother and she said, “Not at all.”
I saw that Nuke was channeling and asked, “Do you object to being a second father, Nuke?”
“No.”
“Do you have a problem with that, Marjie?”
257
Error! No text of specified style in document.
“No.”
I asked, “May I speak to Didiwahtay for a moment?” He quickly returned. “Didiwahtay, look at Nucleus and tell me what you see.”
With a skeptical glance he said, “Black cow.” I laughed. He sometimes called me a black cow, too, a name he also used for buffaloes and dogs.
I said, “Not black cow. Look again.” Nuke smiled and wagged Marjie’s hands and feet.
Didiwahtay giggled, looked at Nuke’s hands and feet, and said to me, “Six fingers and toes. You have five.”
“Who do you see when you look at Nucleus?” He made the sign for father. “Who do you see when you look at me?” With a puzzled look, he made the sign for father again. “Right. You have two fathers. Now look at Candace and tell me what you see.” He signed mother. “Good. Look at yourself. What do you see?” He made the sign for self. “No, this is not your body. Whose body is it?” With another puzzled look and a momentary pause, he signed mother.
“Yes, you see two mothers and two fathers. How do you feel about having two mothers and fathers?” He smiled and made the sign for happy. I said, “Since we are all one family, let’s give each other a hug.” Marjie, Candace, and I embraced. Though invisible to me, I knew that Nucleus and Didiwahtay joined us. I asked, “Are you happy with your big family, Didiwahtay?”
“Yes.”
“You are a lucky child to have two sets of parents who will love you and teach you.” Contented, he made the sign for sleep and withdrew.
Speaking of his six fingers and toes on another occasion, Nuke said, “Archaeologists have discovered six fingered mummies in Egypt. Some of them are quite tall, whereas the average Egyptian was quite short. The anomalies were due to the genetic influence of the Star Beings. My father descended from them.” I knew from previous readings that ancient Egyptians believed the Star Beings who ruled before the first pharaoh was appointed came from the constellation Orion, which they called Osiris, the hunter, and Sirius was his dog star.
258
Candace asked to have a trance session so White Eagle could channel and to find out why she felt so drawn to Mesopotamia.
Nuke observed. I prayed for protection and guidance before the countdown. Candace smiled broadly and made movements with her hands and feet as if dancing. I asked, “What do you hear?”
“So many drums!”
“Who do you see?”
“White Eagle and thousands of Indians as far as the eye can see, all on white horses and all wearing white. A couple of them are standing with White Eagle. One is Grey Deer and the other is Horse that Flies.”
“Does White Eagle have words for us?”
He said to Nucleus 8, “I and those with me are here to pay homage to a great man. The homage is first that we are here to support; we are here to express caring and love and loyalty to this great man, who has been so careful of our well-being and whom we trust to continue to look after our welfare in future existences in other places. Man who Walks, there is an associate in your work who is not what he appears to be. He may attempt to undermine your reputation or your work in some way. He is deceptive. You should avoid this association.”
(Weeks later we learned that Nuke’s second in command had been undermining his authority for many years.) Nuke demanded, “What tribe do you belong to? When were you alive? Where did you live?” His skeptical attitude surprised me.
“I lived in the middle plains of your west in the fifteenth century.
My tribe was Cheyenne. We lived below the high mountains.”
As if conducting a police interrogation, Nuke said, “What does the future hold for my friend and counselor?”
“Many positive changes will be happening. You should keep doing what you have been doing together. Almost all obstacles have been removed for the blessings that Breath has in store.” He turned to me and asked, “Why does he express hostility toward me?”
Nucleus said, “I feel no hostility. You offered to answer my requests, and I made a request.”
259
Error! No text of specified style in document.
I said, “He offered his services to you, but you are asking questions about me.”
Nuke said, “White Eagle, have I ever shown hostility toward you?”
“Yes, in our sport.”
Laughing heartily, Nuke replied, “Yes, and the next time we meet, I will beat you at your sport.”
White Eagle also laughed. “No doubt you will, but it will be difficult.” He withdrew.
When the session was over I asked Nuke, “Can you tell us anything about the energy beings inside the container in Chaco Wash?”
“I will tell you what I may. Ask me questions and I will answer.”
“Were they the last of their kind?”
“I can’t say.”
“Are they the same species as Tanner?”
“I can’t say.”
“What is their purpose here?”
“They are to be the leaders of your New Age. They will emanate such peace that everyone who comes into contact with them will be influenced for the better.”
“Irresistible love?”
“You could say that.”
“Why do you and beings like them even bother with the human race? We are warlike; we are destroying our planet with our greed; we attempt to send weapons into space that threaten everyone.”
“We are attracted to your beautiful spiritual Light. When I look at you, I see your Light. You cannot see Light in the way that I see it. In fact, I have to look through the Light in order to see your physical form. The Light …is very beautiful, and that is what we are interested in. We want to encourage that Light.” The rest of the session was about a past life Candace had lived as a very manipulative and sinister person.
Marjie and I had been hearing a lot of popping noises in the house and got out the Ouija Board to identify the source. Tom, our new guide, wrote that Z LADY was the culprit and added, Z LADY
260
WANTS TO TALK IN TRANCE.
I counted Marjie down. She said,“Z lady is a very old Indian woman, a grandmother. Her black hair is so long she carries it draped over her arm so it won’t drag the floor. It would probably stretch out three feet behind her if she let it fall.”
In a gentle, soft voice Z lady said, “Greetings,”
“I’m honored by your presence, grandmother. You are called Z
lady?”
“I do not like the name I have been given.”
“What name do you prefer?”
“Petals Floating on Water.”
“That’s a beautiful name. I am curious to know what your people are called.”
“Apache’ is what they called us, but our ancestors were truly Aztec. I am found in the area where Apache’s now live.”
“We were told that you wished to speak to us.”
“I will tell stories when the woman with the stone and I are together. Tanner and I have stories to tell through the stone.”
“I will arrange for the woman with the stone to join us later so that you can talk, if that is acceptable to you.”
“It is acceptable.”
Marjie said, “She is vanishing into a single point of Light. She was really impressive, very serene and wise.”
When Candace, Marjie and I gathered together, Petals revealed that she was the woman with long black hair Candace had seen when examining one of the Newfoundland stones. Petals was directing two women (Candace and Marjie, who each held a baby) to go to a certain place where a boat they were to use was hidden in a cave. At first, Candace couldn’t remember where the cave was, but they eventually reached the place where their men would join them. Petals said she was no longer needed. How this vision pertained to current or future events wasn’t clear.
Candace noticed a tiny gap on the thin edge of the major Newfoundland stone and placed her fingernail under it, causing a small flake to pop off. She thought a white stain in the resulting hollow looked like a ship. It reminded me of a dragon, like those 261

that sometimes served as figureheads on Viking ships. I asked, “Do you remember telling us about seeing a Viking ship in a cave during a trance session?”
“No.”
“Maybe that ship is the boat Petals was talking about. Nuke, Marjie and I were present when you first saw it, and you have been giving us important information ever since. Maybe Petal’s story is a metaphor for things that are happening now.”
The next day we held a session with Candace and White Eagle said, “I am glad for the opportunity to speak. Each of you is about to embark on a great journey of significance which will affect many people. You should be firm in your decisions. You will be separated for a time, but will eventually rejoin. You will encounter others along the way who will try to divert you, but you are not to be deceived and should let them go their own way, although it will lead to their destruction. Although Candace is frightened of the path given to her, if she withdraws from the path it will cause great confusion. It is imperative that she not be allowed to turn away because most of the directions you need for the steps you are to take will come through her.”
I was willing to encourage Candace to follow his instructions but doubted she could be relied upon because she frequently changed her mind, wanted to be flattered and cajoled into keeping her word, and enjoyed creating conflict situations that made her the center of attention. I resented her passive-aggressive behavior which distressed Nuke so much that he had asked me to be their mediator more than once. I tried to be objective in spite of my low opinion of her character, but my primary allegiance was always to him. Alta Sha confirmed that it truly was White Eagle who had spoken through her and his counsel was valid, so I shelved my doubt.
Candace and Nuke asked me to join them for a séance. We sat around a lighted candle in a dark room; Candace asked for a manifestation. I closed my eyes and became receptive to anything that might appear. Powerful energy coursed through my body, causing my muscles to tremble and jerk. In my mind’s eye, a polar bear was mauling the left side of a spear-carrying Eskimo, who 262
played dead until the bear shambled away. I asked Candace, “Is the spirit of White Bear (a member of White Eagle’s group) here?”
“Yes.”
“Please ask him how he received his name.”
“He says he was a hunter of polar bears and was wounded on the left side by a bear marauding in their village. A group of men tried to eliminate the bear, but at the last minute it turned on them and the others ran away. He says they were cowards. He killed the bear, but in the process of dying it raked its claws down his left side.
It destroyed part of his left hand and left scars on his left hip and thigh. He now wears the skin of that bear and has been named White Bear.” Much later I remembered that Marjie and I had envisioned another lifetime in which I received injuries to my left side, a pattern which continues in this one. The major journey White Eagle mentioned never took place.
After Didiwahtay heard me read sad stories about the fate of various Indian tribes, he said he didn’t want to be an Indian anymore, but he eventually changed his mind. Marjie and I were taking a drive in the country when he said, “I am not a baby anymore. I am a boy and I need a boy’s name. This is the Indian way.”
“Do you want to choose your name or to have someone else do it?”
“I want mother to choose.”
Marjie said, “I think his name should be Stays in the Clouds. It’s always cloud this and cloud that with him.”
I asked her, “How about Cloudwalker?”
“How would you say that in Indian?”
“I have no idea. Perhaps you should ask Tanner. He would know.”
“He says Notiloquay.”
“May I speak to Didiwahtay again?”
“I am here.”
“Your new name will be Notiloquay. It means Cloudwalker.” He grinned from ear to ear, held his hand up toward the clouds as if to grasp them, and sang his name aloud many times. I sang along with 263

him.
When Marjie was very depressed or physically disabled our interdimensional family members channeled to help out around the house, doing things with her body that it wouldn’t do for her.
One morning, when a new medication had left her very sedated, Didiwahtay said, “Cloudwalker made coffee, poured orange juice, and oven is warming up for cinnamon rolls. I mopped floor and washed dishes, too.”
“Well, thank you for being so helpful. I’m impressed.”
“I love my daddy.”
At bedtime that evening Didiwahtay asked, in a more mature voice, “Is mother going to die?” I assured him that she wasn’t. I reminded him that he was a free spirit and did not have to experience Marjie’s symptoms. With an even more mature voice, he replied, “It is important for Cloudwalker to be brave and strong for mother, not just for myself.”
His spirit body had apparently developed to the point when, if he had a physical body, he would be expected to assume adult responsibilities.
Recovered from the temporary effects of the medication, Marjie said, “It’s important for Didiwahtay to find his own piece of land.”
Perplexed, she added, “Just now I felt like I really was his mother.
I was sitting on top of an adobe looking out at open land. I have never experienced anything like that before. It was very odd.”
“Perhaps you were his mother in another lifetime, or maybe his mother’s spirit entered your body for a few seconds.” Perhaps his mother’s spirit did not fully understand that the requirements of a physical body no longer applied to her or Cloudwalker.
When he learned how to use crayons Didiwahtay drew a mesa with grass on its top and a concave area in its side containing small dwellings. To the right of that scene, he drew a stick figure with a square head, a square torso, square feet, and six fingers on both hands. A stairway led to a star-like object in the sky and a spear under the steps pointed toward the star. I asked, “Will you tell me what these things are?”
The creature is not like Cloudwalker. He came from the star. The 264
spear is to chase him and make him go back.”
“Why do you want him to go back?”
“It comes at night. It is not like me. I don’t like it.” He suddenly remembered that the alien entity Mishaka had taken him in when his mother died. He pointed at Marjie’s body and at me, saying,
“You are not like me. I want my real mother and father. I don’t belong with you and Nucleus and Candace. Help me find my real parents.”
“Your parents lived in the place you drew. I will take you there soon.”
“Will I find them in their bodies?”
“Only if they have reincarnated, but if they haven’t, I’m sure you can find their spirits.”
“I want to find them now.”
“With the Creator’s permission, I think you can contact them.
Lie down on the bed.” I said a prayer of protection and asked for I AM’s permission. As soon he was entranced, Cloudwalker joyfully held his arms out as if hugging his parents. “Can you see them?”
“Yes. They are in the Light!”
Marjie suddenly cried out, “Pat! I can’t hold on to him! Stop him!
He’s going to leave!”
“He won’t stay gone forever. He wants to be with his parents.
It’s alright.”
“Bring him back! Bring him back!” She sobbed as if her heart would break.
“I’m sure he’ll be back soon. Ask Alta Sha.” Alta Sha looked calmly at me. “He is coming back, isn’t’ he?”
“He has taken another path.”
“That’s an unexpected development.”
“He is a free spirit.”
“Shouldn’t someone tell him he’s making a mistake?”
“How so? He has simply taken a different step.”
“He stepped off the path I AM prepared for him.”
“He has chosen a different path. He is a free spirit.”
“I guess this will be the first mission we won’t complete. I 265

thought we were supposed to take him to the Hopi reservation.”
“Perhaps you can call him back.”
“How can I do that?”
He smiled. “Use your talents.”
“Marjie, we’re going to try to call him back, okay?” She nodded.
“Ease yourself back into the trance. We’re going to go looking for him together. Let’s go.” I mentally perceived Didiwahtay and his parents as brilliant beings of Light. “Can you see them?”
“Yes. They’re dancing. His mother is beautiful. So is his father.
They are so happy! He is a beautiful dancer. He does it so well! He is growing.”
“Does he see us?”
“He doesn’t seem to.”
“Let’s make our Lights so strong they can’t miss seeing us.” I visualized them looking at us.
Marjie begged, “Please come back, Didiwahtay! Come back!”
I bowed to his parents and said, “We are very pleased that you have been able to join with your son. We know it makes you very happy. Didiwahtay was placed with us because the Great Spirit has plans for him. It is His wish that Didiwahtay will perform great works for his people. He has been chosen to help your descendants find their way in a new world that the Creator has told my friends to prepare. Didiwahtay is to help your people restore the good old ways of living in the new world. There is nothing to prevent you from contacting each other in the future. When Didiwahtay calls upon you, you can come to him.
“Is he coming toward you, Marjie?”
“No, but he’s looking our way. They have given him a new name.”
“Do you know what it is?”
“I can’t make it out. His father’s name is Two Spears. His mother is Cool Earth. I see a spear sticking in the ground. His name is something about a spear in the breast of Earth.
Speaking to his parents again, I said, “We went to the place where you lived when you gave birth to your son. He was presented to us in the dwelling of the holy man who watched over 266
his spirit from the time that he died, waiting for us to come and receive him so that he could do great works. The Creator has many blessings in store for him and the others that he will serve. The people come first. We must do these things with love and through love. It is all about love.” When Marjie smiled I asked, “Has he joined you?”
“Yes. He has grown a great deal.”
“Alleluia! Thank you for sending your son back to us and thank you for coming back, Didiwahtay.” I embraced him through Marjie.
Didiwahtay said, “Dada.”
“Yes, Spear in the Breast of the Earth?”
“I saw mother and father, Cool Earth and Two Spears!” He signed they were mother and father, that he loved them and he was happy with them. He also signed that they had made plans, had taken steps, and they had played.
“You came back to do the work the Creator has planned for you.
You can see your parents whenever you want to. Being here is temporary. Eventually you can be with them for as long as you like.” We embraced again.
He smiled and said, “Didiwahtay sleep now. Not alone.”
Nucleus 8 and I were reminiscing about significant events we had shared in the three years we had been friends. I asked him to explain the relationship between Tanner and Mishaka, who holds Position 9 on the Board. He said they shared the same Oversoul but were separate entities. “Just as Candace has her Ginea, Tanner has his 9. It was 9 who cared for Didiwahtay at Tsankawi, not Tanner.”
“Didiwahtay said that 9 wasn’t like him, which suggests that he didn’t look like the natives. The portrait etched on the wall of his cave doesn’t look completely human, either. Apparently he was known to have special abilities, for Didi’s mother took him to 9
when she was dying. I suppose she thought 9 could save him. Why didn’t he cure their illness?”
“You must understand we cannot cure every illness we encounter. We have made progress since then, just as your own physicians have.”
Marjie and I were eating supper when Didi said, “Dada Chief of 267
Error! No text of specified style in document.
Eagle Clan, great warrior. Mother is Princess, mean Princess.”
I chuckled, “Why do you say she is mean?”
“She make Didiwahtay control self around others. Will not let him do what he wants to do to them. Is good Mother. Has taught me much.”
“Speaking of teaching, have you talked to the chiefs in our trees?”
“Yes. All great leaders. They teach Didiwahtay much. Why have you not asked them into your home? Why they not inside?”
“They are where they have chosen to be, but they are certainly welcome to come inside. I’ll make sure they know that.”
“You have taught me that we are all one tribe but the Hopi are not my people. I do not want the task I have been given, but I will do it because it is what you want. I will be ready when the time comes to go but they are not my people. My people are here. You are my people. I want to stay with you.”
“I don’t know if you will have to leave us to do your task. All I know is that I’m supposed to take you to the Hopi Reservation. We don’t want you to go away but we will follow the will of Breath.”
“Didiwahtay must teach.”
“How many at a time must you teach?”
“One is enough.”
“Then how do you know you cannot teach here?” I pointed to the mobile home beyond the blueberry bushes.
“I cannot teach in bush.”
“What do you mean?”
“You point to bush. Say I teach in bush.”
“I was pointing at the trailer. Why do we have it?”
“So people who come can learn.”
“Exactly. How do you know we won’t bring back someone who will join our tribe? All who want to learn, who seek wisdom, are of one tribe. Breath does not ask his children to give up everything that matters to them in order to do what He wants them to do. I don’t believe He will make you suffer.”
I spoke to the stable manager about buying Cloud Horse and was told he was a rodeo bucking bronco and not for sale. When I 268
gave Didi the sad news, he suggested we get him anyway. I explained taking him without permission would be a crime and we wouldn’t be allowed to keep him. “Perhaps we will build a fence and then we can have other horses.”
“Why do you shame me?”
“How did I shame you?”
“You are going to get black cow for me to ride, not Cloud Horse.”
“What are you talking about?”
“In some moons, you will have black cow.”
“Why will you have to ride it?”
“What else is there for me to ride?”
I laughed. “You are a free spirit. Why can’t you go and ride Cloud Horse if you want to?”
“I have ridden Cloud Horse.”
“How did you do that?”
“I had to sneak.” He smiled, as proud of his conquest as any young brave of the olden times would have been.
“Why did you have to sneak? If you are a spirit, and no one can see you, why can’t you just ride him whenever you want to?’
“When Didiwahtay is near Cloud Horse, people can see him.
Didiwahtay go now. Didiwahtay love Dada.”
“Dada loves Didiwahtay.” We embraced.
When I told Marjie about Didi riding Cloud Horse she said,
“That will ruin him for bucking.”
“Maybe that’s the idea. If he won’t buck, they might sell him.”
After supper Marjie and I took a walk in the yard, admiring the feathery, serrated clouds in the evening sky. I said, “They look like a giant hawk’s tail or a war bonnet.” I wondered if this display was created because of my conversation with Notiloquay.
Following up on Didi’s comments about the chiefs in our trees, I stood before them and said how much I appreciated their desire to protect us and apologized for not offering them the hospitality of our home. As if an answer, spiritual energy tingled in my spine.
For the remainder of that evening, I felt that energy every time I entered our living room, where most of our Indian inspired crafts 269

were displayed.
The next afternoon I said to Didiwahtay, “I stopped to speak to Cloud Horse on the way to work. He came to the fence when I called his name. I told him to be gentle instead of bucking when people ride him so we might be able to buy him and bring him here to live with us. You should ride him often to help gentle him. When I came home from work he wasn’t in the pasture. I hope he wasn’t taken to some faraway place. I phoned the manager of the equine center again about buying him but he didn’t return my call.” We never saw Cloud Horse again. Didiwahtay accepted the loss without complaint.
Nuke helped me to fence the pasture by holding steel posts in place while I drove them into the ground and by helping to fasten barbed wire to them. While driving through central Arkansas Marjie and I saw a sign indicating horses were for sale. After briefly riding a mature, gelded, black and white paint, we bought it and a two year old sorrel filly. The purchase price was quite reasonable and included delivery. Didi’s prediction that we would soon have a black cow caame true, but the paint turned out to be an outlaw.
He would follow the reign for a few minutes of calm riding until he didn’t want to be ridden any longer and became obstreperous.
After he deliberately scraped me off his back by passing under a low limb, we sold him.
We named the filly Dreamer in honor of Chief Joseph, who was a member of the Dreamer Society. She was affectionate, curious, and playful. When she was three and ready to be seriously ridden we hired a professional trainer who worked with Marjie and her, making her into a pleasant saddle horse. Nucleus 8 loved to watch Dreamer chase and kick a basketball around the pasture. We bought other horses enjoyed having them for several years, but Didi had no interest in riding them, for he had developed a new interest.

Chapter Seventeen: The Infinity Stone I usually could not remember what occurred during my nocturnal visits to Nuke’s dimension and occasionally persuaded him to fill me in. Regarding one of them he said, “You decided we should go down to the surface of this beautiful planet that you took me to. I asked if we shouldn’t take some precautions before landing but you just circled the planet about three times and said you didn’t see anybody down there and thought it was uninhabited. I said, Of course you don’t see anybody, we’re three miles up, but you said you were being led by Breath and were sure that everything would be alright and with no preamble at all you went straight down. When we landed I asked you how thick the hull of your ship was. You said you were sure it was thick enough but I stayed inside while you disembarked and started collecting rocks. You kept saying, Oh, what a beautiful place! Oh, I wish Tanner could see this! Oh, I wish Tanner could see that! You asked for a container for the rocks. One of your flesh-eating crew members handed me one that I dropped down to you. Right away I heard a high-pitched scream and yelled, Let’s get outta here! You jumped in the ship and I said, When are we leaving? You said, Ten seconds ago! While we were getting away you said, Maybe we could just go back and apologize and give the stones back to them. I heard three loud pings against the side of the ship and said I thought it was a little too late for that. We finally outran them.”
By then I was laughing my head off. “It wasn’t funny! You didn’t follow any of the standard procedures for landing on a newly discovered planet.”
“I didn’t take the usual precautions because I felt certain I was supposed to land there and wasn’t expecting any trouble. People who love their planet so much they will shoot you for taking a few 271

rocks are worth knowing. I want to go back and apologize.”
Adam, our adopted faery son who was also Nuke’s second in command, said that going back uninvited was a bad idea. Instead, he approached the planet’s ruler and got permission for us to return on the condition that we come in the same craft as before and allow them to examine it. Using my mind’s eye, I boarded my craft with Adam and asked it to take us there. Within seconds, we landed on a massive landing area paved with huge hexagonal paving stones.
A large crowd of human-like observers lined the plaza’s perimeter.
After Adam and I descended to the surface, a handful of the spectators approached. I said to Adam, “I want to kneel before them.”
“Don’t do that, father.”
“Okay, I’ll just bow my head to the one who greets us.” A regally attired emissary stepped forward. I respectfully handed the container of pilfered stones to him and said, “If possible, I would like to make amends for landing on your beautiful planet and taking these stones without permission. I would like to learn more about a people who care so much about everything that exists on their planet.”
Adam said, “You have said enough, father.”
“I’m having trouble picking up any thoughts from him.”
“That is deliberate. He wants you to recognize your emotions.
How do you feel, father?”
“I feel foolish and humble. I have a strong desire to know more about these people and their ways.”
“How do you perceive him, father?”
“As strange as it seems, he appears to be wearing a large crown like the kings of old did on Earth.”
“Yes.”
“He’s wearing a long robe or cape of royal purple.”
“Yes. The wisest one of all has greeted us. He wants us to follow.”
The king led us to thick ground cover beyond the edge of the plaza. Adam said, “He’s trying to communicate with you. What are you receiving?”
272
“The image in my mind looks like something you could sit on.”
“He wants you to sit on the plants.” I carefully sat on the waist high vegetation, finding that its broad, heart shaped leaves supported me like a form-fitting chair. Eyes closed and feeling deeply peaceful, I saw the blue Light of I AM as I leaned back and absorbed their loving energy.
“Can you feel the plant?”Adam asked.
“Yes, it seems to be growing around me.”
“If you sit for very long, it will encase you entirely.”
“It’s a delightful feeling. It loves me and I love it. We celebrate the life in each other.”
“He wants you to turn over and put your face in it.” I did. What do you perceive?”
“I see many small insects and tiny plants, and I smell the wonderful scent of the soil, which is full of life.”
Duplicating my movements, Adam said, “It is marvelous, isn’t it.”
“It’s amazing how much life exists here.” A few moments of pleasure had passed when I said, “Our escort is telepathically communicating that we have consumed a great deal of his time and he must be about his business. He says he has total consciousness of his world and is aware of everything that happens on this planet.”
“Yes, father.”
To the king I said, “I would appreciate the opportunity to return in order to learn more about how you developed complete awareness of your entire planet. I may need this ability in the future.”
He replied, “You may return.”
“Feel free to examine my ship in any way that you like.”
Adam said, “They want to know if they can keep it.”
“I can’t give it away. It’s like an extension of myself.”
“He has a gift for you, father. Hold out your hand. What do you see?”
To Adam I said, “Is this what I think it is?”
“Yes.” It was Tanner’s infinity stone!
273

To the King I said, “I don’t know how to thank you enough for this. This is wonderful. There is one who has searched far and wide for this stone, and now I can give it back to him. Thank you.” He bid us goodbye.
The reception committee had already examined my vessel and we were soon heading back to Earth. I wondered, How did this man, living on a remote planet in another dimension, know that I was looking for Tanner’s infinity stone? Did Tanner’s spiritual brothers bring it here, and if so, why did they choose this particular planet? Is the king of this planet another expression of Tanner’s Oversoul?
Adam and I had returned to our Earth home, and although I didn’t remember giving the stone to its rightful owner, I said, “Nine (Mishaka) has possession of the stone now, doesn’t he?”
“Yes.”
“I wonder if the stone will be taken to a place on Earth where we can find it.”
“It will show up.”
That the king had the infinity stone suggested there was an intimate relationship between events on Earth and those in his dimension. The universal use of telepathic communication on his planet, even with plants, reminded me of Perithnea saying years previously that on the New Earth, grass will grow short in areas where people want to walk and animals will approach if someone wants to touch them. Perhaps the planet we visited was the New Earth the Alliance had created. Nuke said the New Earth is approximately the same size as Earth. It has two suns, which prevent the seasonal extremes of temperature that occur here, but it does have nights and days. It receives ample rainfall but also has deserts. In the late 1990’s, it had around three thousand intelligent inhabitants and everything was growing nicely. From my viewpoint, the complete absence of pollution and greed are its most outstanding features.
As I expected, Candace’s chronic inconsistency caused Nuke major emotional turmoil and finally led to their separation. She moved to Georgia to stay with family and friends and never paid a cent of the three thousand plus dollars she owed us. She stopped 274
all contact after Marjie confronted her about it.
Their unstable relationship had forced Nuke to experience strong emotions without being controlled by them. He managed to deal with losing her and, following his orders to blend with humans, sought a successful romantic relationship. After a couple of quickly failed attempts, he met Amy (a pseudonym), another gifted psychic, and with Marjie as his channel, they spent many hours together for over a year.
I was interested in her reactions to Tanner’s stones and asked her to hold the Heart of the Buffalo. She said it was very powerful and that she had been having repetitive dreams about searching for two mountains connected by a saddle of land where there is water.
She asked, “Is there something like that at the Spanish Peaks?”
I answered, “Yes, a creek flows through the saddle.”
She was speechless when holding the major Newfoundland rock with eyes closed until Nuke told her to place a finger tip in the small concavity revealed when Candace had flaked off a piece of its edge.
She said, “There’s some secret here, something hidden.” I repeated Candace’s tale of Black Bear and his band of renegades who wanted to harm the woman with a child. She replied, “I can really identify with that. I think Black Bear is my ex.” (Marjie, Candace and Amy had been abused by men.) “I see an Indian’s face. He is showing me a box. He’s opening it. I see a cloak that is a rainbow of colors, like a web made of sequins. He’s putting it over my shoulders. It’s very powerful.” Trembling with spiritual energy, she made a howling sound like very strong wind blowing through trees. “I’m traveling.
I am in another place, where I see another old Indian sitting beside a box and a stick man, the kind children draw. I feel the box contains something very profound and important. I feel Asalara’s (Tanner’s) pain, a sharp stabbing pain in my heart. He is opening the box and is taking out another cloak. It is black and gold and covered with feathers. He is putting it on top of the cloak I’m wearing. I feel the energy again… I’m traveling. This is a very cold place. I’m speaking to someone wearing a fur hat. I do not recognize his race. He isn’t completely oriental, but mixed. I don’t know where I am. This man has a box also. It’s old and wooden and 275

has carvings on it. They are very impressive. He is opening his box and taking out another cape. It is turquoise and gold. He’s putting it on my shoulders. The energy is overwhelming... I’m traveling again. I am in a border town somewhere in a very remote part of China. Everyone is very poor. I am with a very old and skinny Chinese man. He has an inscrutable, smiling face and is almost too obsequious. I feel somewhat uncomfortable around him, as if I can’t fully trust him. He has a box also. It is beautiful, with black lacquer on the outside and gold trim. It has a rainbow-colored dragon on it.
I feel afraid of this box. I don’t know if I want to open it.”
I said, “See what you have been given. It belongs to you.”
“I’m opening it. There is a beautiful black and gold cape with a red lining in it. I’m putting it on. I feel another surge of power. My whole body is becoming the color of Lapis Lazuli, and my eyes are red gems.” Enraptured, she rested her head against the sofa’s high back. “I see a golden cloud. In it, I see Jesus and Buddha sitting next to him. They have invited me to sit between them. Jesus is on my right and one of the ascended masters is on my left.”
“You are in good company,” I said.
“They want me to rest for a while.” Still holding the stone, she laughed.
I asked, “What’s happening?”
“I am with the faeries. They’re all around me. They have gifts for me.”
Channeling unexpectedly, Sarah asked, “What kind of gifts?”
Delighted, Amy said, “All kinds of things. Little boxes, little shiny things. Trinkets. There’s one in the back who wants to come to the front with a box.”
Sarah asked, “What’s in the box?”
“It’s a little gold box.”
“Open it up.”
“There’s a crystal heart in it!”
“Put it around your neck.”
Amy gestured as if putting a necklace on and frowned. I asked her what was happening. “Some dark, black-looking bullies are coming. They don’t want me to receive these gifts. The faeries have 276
left.”
“Use the crystal,” Sarah said.
I said, “The crystal is full of power. Use its energy to subdue these bullies.” She smiled. “What is happening now?”
“The bullies are in golden stocks. They have gold bands around their hands and feet. They could really get out, but they don’t realize it.”
“Let’s not explain it to them now. Is your rest finished?” She nodded. “Perhaps you should continue your journey.”
“Across the top of the last cape are the words Manitoba, Canada.
Don’t tell me I’m supposed to go to Canada!”
“Apparently so.”
She made a whooshing sound and said, “I’m in someone’s hut in Canada. The women look like Eskimos. They are very pleased to see me and are greeting me warmly. They have another box hidden behind some hides. They’re bringing it out. It’s a woven basket. I’m getting ready to open it.”
Tanner interrupted, “She is using up her energy. She should put down the stone.”
To Amy I said, “This is Tanner’s rock. He wants you to put it aside before you use too much of your energy. He is concerned about your welfare and may have other reasons for wanting you to stop. Why don’t you just give it to me?” She let go with one hand, but not with the other. I gently removed the stone from her palm.
“I don’t want to leave when I am having so much fun.”
“You’ll have a chance to use the stone again later, but for now you need to rest.”
“I expected to see a buffalo robe in that box but I didn’t. I saw something like horns, but no robe.”
Nuke said, “The box was empty because you’re tired. You’re not ready to receive the next gift yet.” Amy returned to her normal consciousness. Nuke asked, “Remember what you said earlier about envisioning a blue ball somewhere in the house?”
“Oh, yes!”
“Do you think you could find it now?”
She stood up, looked around the room and approached a table 277

where the squash blossoms of the magic necklace on display contained turquoise spheres. Nuke said, “Did you notice that the stones in the necklace are blue?”
“Yes, but I saw a single blue ball.” Unable to find it, she returned to the necklace.
Nuke said, “That is what you seek.”
She picked it up and said, “This is very powerful.”
“Put it on,” he said.
She did. “I have missed this so much I have to cry.”
I replied, “It’s fine if you cry. Come and sit down.” She sat and held a tissue to her overflowing eyes. “You feel the love that was used to make this necklace.”
Entranced again and weeping, her eyelids fluttered and she said in an anguished voice, “I see blood, a river of blood.” She quickly regained her composure. “Now I see myself wearing a rainbow cloak. It covers not only me, but the entire Earth. I am being lifted up into the sky. I am among the stars. My skirt is made of stars. My top is made of stars. The stars are vast, and I am wearing them.”
Nuke said, “If you allow yourself to drift, the necklace may take you to places you do not wish to go. It is very powerful. Take it off for now.”
Hesitantly, she handed it to me. I said, “This was made by an Indian for a woman seer he greatly respected. Before he could give it to her, she died. Since you feel it belongs to you, perhaps, you were that seer in another lifetime. I guess we were led to it so that we could bring it to you. We know it amplifies spiritual energies and their traces.”
Nuke asked, “Would you like to go for a walk?”
As the three of us strolled down the driveway Amy said, “Do you hear that?”
“I don’t hear anything,” I said.
Nuke pointed to the east. “There’s a high-pitched, warbling sound coming from that side of the pasture.”
Trying to hear it, I walked in that direction and saw a bright, star-like light in the sky begin to bob and sway in place. I said,
“Come and take a look at this. It will dance for you.”
278
They joined me. Nuke said, “It’s a craft, about seventy miles away.”
“How big is it?” Amy asked.
“I can’t say for certain. Perhaps we will see one or two pass over as we walk.” Several minutes later he said, “There are two of them.”The steady white lights flew over us. The sound of jet engines followed but was too far behind for ordinary planes and it lingered much longer than normal for jets. Near the western horizon, a rapidly blinking red light traversed the sky from north to south at a high rate of speed. Nuke said it was an Alliance craft.
As we walked back to the house I heard the warbling sound they had mentioned. I thought it was the song of an unfamiliar night bird until Amy exclaimed, “Hold me up! Hold me up! I can’t stand.” We grabbed her elbows. She said, “Let me sit down.” We gently lowered her. A few seconds later she said, “I’m all right now.
Help me up.” We held her arms to steady her as we slowly walked up the driveway. She said, “I felt the presence of a spirit. I think it was what the Irish call a banshee, a nature spirit. Didn’t you feel it come close?”
I answered, “I didn’t feel it, but I heard it.”
She was able to walk on her own when we reached Nuke’s cottage. He said, “There is no negativity here. A perimeter has been established around the cottage and nothing that could harm you can penetrate it. My staff will be watching over you through the night.” Marjie and I said goodnight and went home.
I wondered if the entities who knew that the cloaks belonged to Amy were the seven Earth guardians Ken Carey wrote about in Return of the Bird Tribes. If so, it means that her presence promotes the well being of Mother Earth.
The following day Amy spoke of a vision she had while sitting outside the cottage. “An Indian came and sat down beside me on my right. He was wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans and a cowboy hat. Then an older Indian dressed in the traditional way sat on my left. I watched your dogs run down the driveway toward the road and come back with a large group of Indian spirits following them.
They sat around me as if to pay homage and to hear my words.”
279

I said, “The man in the plaid shirt might be the Indian who made the necklace and the older one might have been Tanner. Apparently there’s a strong spiritual connection among you. Speaking of spiritual connections, I can’t remember the sequence of the boxes and capes you received yesterday. Do you?”
“No, and it seems strange that I can’t.”
Nuke said, “Don’t forget that she saw the stick man when Tanner gave her the cape of feathers.”
To Amy I said, “In one of her trance journeys Marjie was shown a vision of creation in which the prototypical human was a stick man. The profound effect the stick man had on you leads me to think you might have participated in the creation process.
According to Gnostic teachings, God initiated creation by providing the necessary energy and material but appointed a female entity known as Spider Woman by various Indian tribes to carry out His plan. The Sioux called her Iktomi. Long ago, Indians often drew stick figures to represent humans.”
Amy said, “When I put that necklace on, I felt thousands of arrows penetrating my body. I saw the whole panorama of everything that had ever been killed on Earth, people and animals and the river of blood. It happened at high speed, but I was aware of every wound and every death. I also saw a cross the color of blood in a green field and felt my heart was being stabbed.”
I said, “Asalara (Tanner) once wrote a poem about his heart being stabbed due to separation from his spiritual relatives but anticipating a joyous reunion. Do you remember the name of the Ascended Master you saw sitting beside Jesus?” I instantly forgot the name she gave me as if programmed to do so. I asked, “What caused you to sit down in the driveway?”
“The bird’s call was like a magnet for my mind and then a spirit came near that sapped my strength. I had a lot of dreams last night.”
I said, “I think the boxes are connected with the seven angels who have been guarding Earth since its creation and that there will be seven boxes.”
“I think there are fifteen, one for each of the Indian spirits you 280
have worked with,” she replied.
A few days later we met Amy at a Memphis restaurant. Nuke silently put the magic necklace on the table and Amy picked it up.
We followed her to her home and upon arriving I asked Nuke,
“Why did you give her the necklace?”
“I wanted to see what she would do with it. Tanner wants to make a formal presentation of it later on.”
Amy showed us several beautiful objects made by Native Americans, explaining that years ago her family had owned a shop featuring such items and that she had always identified strongly with Indians. As we got ready to go home, she handed the necklace to me without comment.
Shortly after that contact, Amy faxed the following message to Nuke: Three beautiful Native American spirits appeared in my bedroom.
One of them said, “You are Thunderbird.” I had a vision of being in the center of their circle. My face was round and my red hair had ribbons colored like a rainbow streaming out from it, like the face of the sun. They represented all the elements of Earth, and I was the mother of them all. In the four directions, a red, a white, a brown, and a green buffalo were kneeling before me, paying homage and acknowledging that I was Thunderbird.
In the midst of these revelations, Didiwahtay said, “Amy was my mother before. She took me to a man with feathers.”
I asked, “Why didn’t you tell her that when she was here?”
“It is disrespectful to speak to her unless she speaks to me first.”
“Does she know that you are with us now?” I doubted we had ever mentioned him to her.
“She knows. She has been my mother in many lifetimes.”
“She may not know that it’s alright to speak to you. How do you feel toward her?”
“I feel great respect. She is the mother of all elements on Earth.”
“Are her people your people?”
“She is the mother of many peoples, just as you have many people.”
“Does it make you happy to have such a powerful mother?”
“I am very proud. I would like to learn from her. Would you 281
Error! No text of specified style in document.
permit this?”
“Of course. There is much she can teach you. We are not bound by tribal customs. This is too important for that.”
Tears filled his eyes. “Then I will learn.”
In the class she taught on Sundays, Amy recited a beautiful poem she had composed that morning. My entire body tingled as surges of spiritual energy pulsed up and down my spine and I suddenly realized with grateful tears that she was a manifestation of White Buffalo Calf Woman. I thought, Thank God she has come back and knows who she is! At the conclusion of her class she said,
“Everybody, there’s something I must say to you but I don’t want to say it. It’s going to make me cry.”
I said, “Go ahead and cry. It cleanses the soul.”
“The last Sunday in August will be my final class. I must go on a retreat. I don’t know how long it will last, and I don’t know where I will go, but I know it is something I must do for the good of everyone. I must follow what Spirit tells me I must do.” I thought she was being prepared for our next trip to Colorado and that it would be a life-changing event for her. Over lunch, she told us that Indian spirits were still visiting her bedroom, saying she was Thunderbird. She had vivid dreams about the meaning of various Indian designs but couldn’t remember the details upon waking.
It was a mild day with light breezes when Amy joined us on our drive to Martin. A mysterious whirlwind of dust and debris suddenly appeared on a deserted stretch of highway. She said,
“Every time I’ve gone somewhere in the last few days I have driven though whirlwinds.” I had never before seen a whirlwind on this often traveled stretch of road and have never seen another one there in thirty years.
It was late afternoon when we arrived at home. Marjie said,
“Tanner is very near and very active. He’s telling me what to do before presenting the necklace to Amy. He wants us to put the feathered blanket on the ground wherever we like and to bring the sacred staff. He and you will perform the ceremony.” While we made preparations, Amy went to the cottage. I laid the feathered blanket in the same place as when the Indian spirits had entered it.
282
I went inside to gather the smudge materials, donned my beaded headband, and got the Tarahumara drum. Marjie brought the staff.
Marjie and I sat at the head of the blanket, facing westward.
Tanner began to channel. Amy walked in a circle around us and the blanket, dropping pieces of bread on the ground. She said, “I was told to bring bread. I have no idea why. I just know that I’m supposed to.” I expected her to take a seat opposite us and began to beat the drum. Without a word of explanation, she walked back to the cottage. After a few minutes, Tanner commanded, “Go get woman.”
At the cottage door I said, “Tanner wants you to come now.”
“I’m washing my hands and feet and changing my pants. After all, I am a woman.”
I went back to Tanner. Drumming again, I did a toe-heel dance around him and the blanket. He raised the sacred staff to the sky, said a prayer, and then angrily said, “Bring woman now!”
Amy said, “I’m gathering my offerings.” She picked up a few items and followed as I drummed our way to Tanner’s side.
He told me to sit at his left and told her to sit facing him on the opposite side of the blanket. He gestured for me to ignite the smudge ingredients but they wouldn’t stay lit, even when he tried.
He said to both of us, “This is not good. Bring hair of tree.” I thought he was referring to the dried Spanish Moss in the house and went to retrieve some while Amy collected pine needles and live cedar leaves from nearby trees. Upon receiving them, Tanner asked her,
“Will green leaves burn?”
“I think they will.”
“Will these burn better than the dry hair?”
“Green pine needles won’t burn as well as dry ones,” I said.
Amy fetched a handful of brown needles. Tanner smiled, saying,
“Woman wants big fire.” He took a few, twisted them together, put the other smudge materials on top of them in the pewter bowl, handed it and a match to Amy and said, “Here is fire stick.” Amy tried to light the normally volatile pine needles but the ingredients would not smolder.
I said, “Too much humidity.”
283
Error! No text of specified style in document.
Tanner replied, “Too much humility.”
Amy looked at him. “Humidity or humility?”
“Woman has choice. Can walk away.”
“I will not walk away.”
She struck another match, then another, another, and another until the ingredients finally smoldered enough for smudging.
Although he cleansed after us, there was more smoke available when he smudged. He then extended his open right hand toward Amy and said, “Where is bread?”
“It’s scattered all around the yard.”
“Where is bread?”
“I can’t remember exactly where it is. Do you want bread?”
“Woman get bread.”
She went to the cottage, quickly brought back a hunk of bread, and kneeling before him said, “What do you want me to do with it?”
“You know what to do with it.”
Amy hesitantly tore a piece from the hunk and gave it to him, but he tossed it away. She offered me a piece. I put it in my mouth and she put a piece in her mouth. Tanner held out his hand again and put the piece she gave him in his mouth. He said, “If you are to be first, then you must be first. Nourish your soul. How are you to lead others if you do not take the lead?”
Elbows on her knees, Amy bent forward until her face nearly touched the cape. Smiling, Tanner said, “Woman sleeps.”
“I have never been more awake,” Amy said.
He held up the staff. “Listen to story of stick. Do not forget.” He pointed to the pouch containing ashes. “This spirit.” He touched the snake vertebrae. “Spirit takes form.” He gestured for her to touch them. She did. He lifted the mink pouch containing dirt.
“Sacred Earth. Your mother.” He pointed to the little moccasins.
“Walk softly on the earth.” He touched the black feathers at the top and said, “Transformation. Spirit leave.” Looking intently at Amy he said, “What offering do you bring for this power?”
She lifted a snake’s discarded skin. “I found this when I was placing bread around the yard. Every time I put a piece down, I 284
found something.” She showed us two halves of a bird’s egg, a bit of cedar, a worn piece of oyster shell with a hole in it and said,
“Womb.”
“Good offerings.” Holding the eggshell halves, Tanner said,
“Good birth.” He picked up the oyster shell and said, “Shell, not womb.”
Amy said, “It’s shaped like a womb. See the opening?”
“What good is opening?”
“You can see through it.”
“Into another dimension. Doorway.” Holding the snake skin, he said, “Transformation.” His comment about the cedar was, “Good life.” He could not untie the dried, stiff knots of the rawhide laces that closed the flap of the mink pouch. I had tied them very tightly when Rocks that Slide told me it must not be opened again. To me, he said, “Where is knife?”
I went inside to get one and picked up a flashlight. I sat beside him and asked, “Do you need this light?”
He pointed to his chest and said, “Light here.” Pointing to Amy and then to me he said, “Light there. Light there.” He pointed to the setting sun and said, “Light there.” He pointed to the kitchen window nearby and said, “Light there. Plenty light.” He cut the knots on the pouch and placed two feathers that were attached to it beside the necklace. Taking a pinch of soil from the pouch, he put it on the crown of Amy’s head, covered it with his palm and said,
“This is your mother. Take good care of her.” A moment later he touched each of Amy’s shoulders three times with the tip of the staff before doing the same to me and said, “Embrace your mother.”
I lay on my belly and spread my arms, hugging Mother Earth. Amy embraced herself before following my example. I gave silent thanks to Mother Earth for providing everything we needed to survive. As we lay there, Tanner stood up, shook the staff to make the hawk bells on it jingle, and danced in a circle around Amy. With the butt of the staff, he traced a line from the crown of her head down her back to her tailbone before doing the same to me. He then sat down and gestured for to me to sit beside him while Amy remained prostrate. The necklace was lying on the cape before us, wrapped 285

in a red cloth. He removed the cloth and said, “You hold that side, I hold this side. We place necklace on her together and give back offerings in cloth.”
We each took one of Amy’s arms and helped her to stand up.
After turning her to face the setting sun for a few moments, Tanner turned her to face eastward, telling her to kneel. The exposed necklace lay before her. We put it around her neck and I fastened the clasp. He placed a hand on top of her head again and gestured for me to put mine on top of his. Then he said, “It is finished.”
We suddenly heard a loud, thundering sound like a jet plane flying directly above us in the darkening sky and saw an atypical pattern of aerial lights. If they were on a conventional aircraft at the high altitude suggested by their size, the volume of the sound was much too loud. Addressing Amy with excellent English, Mishaka, having descended from the Alliance craft, channeled through Marjie: “You are now Reigning Dove. I am confident that you are worthy of this power and will use it well,” and withdrew. Still kneeling, Amy gathered the two feathers and the red cloth that contained all of her offerings while Marjie, tired from all the channeling, helped me to gather the cape, staff and Drum..
After getting up very slowly, expressionless Amy followed us into our house. Nuke said to her, “Tanner has put his stamp of approval on you, so there is no need to withhold the reasons for our trip west. Based on the impressions of a psychic woman who examined the stones we gathered in Newfoundland and the pictures taken at Bandelier National Monument, we think we might find an intact Viking ship in a cave on the West Spanish Peak. We will also be looking for the wreckage of a crashed UFO there.”
I told her about the sabotage of Rapsar’s craft, the container in Chaco Wash, and the need to take Didiwahtay to the Hopi Reservation. I also told her how honored Didiwahtay felt because she has been his mother in many lifetimes. “He wants to learn from you and hopes you will instruct him, but it is not customary for him to ask an elder to give him what he wants instead of waiting until it is offered. He wants to sit at your feet.”
Amy agreed to teach him and said, “I felt his presence very near 286
all day.”
I told her we wanted to take her to Aztec and Tsankawi so she could walk the same paths Tanner had used. It would be a jam-packed journey.

Chapter Eighteen: Earthbound Angel In a private moment Nuke said, “I have searched all the records for the entire Alliance, and there is no record of Amy’s existence anywhere. This is completely unprecedented. Our records contain information about every human being born on your planet, and she is not among them. It can only mean that she is not of Earth and has only adopted this form for her convenience.”
“That explains why Mishaka named her Reigning Dove, why I think she’s a manifestation of White Buffalo Calf Woman, and why the other Indian spirits have been calling her Thunderbird. You realize you’re courting a goddess, don’t you?”
“I don’t know what her level is, but it’s somewhere close to Mother’s.”
“What if she is an aspect of Mother?”
“That is a really intimidating thought!”
“You’re intimidated by Mother? I think of her as very loving, in spite of her great power.”
“It’s like this. Do you remember the first time Alta Sha asked you for an embrace and you were so humble it made you weep?”
“Yes.”
“That’s how I would feel if offered an embrace by Mother.”
“Mother is both male and female but the male aspect is dominant, right?”
“What of it?”
“What if Amy is an aspect of Mother’s feminine side, and you are an aspect of the male side?”
“That thought hadn’t occurred to me! It’s almost too much to handle.”
Marjie and I were speculating about the sexual aspects of Nuke’s relationship with Amy when he said, “As long as you’re 289

talking about me, I’m going to tell you a few things. Amy and I do not have to engage in any kind of physical contact to experience full sexual pleasure. I would never compromise someone I love (Marjie) by using her body for that. All we have done is to hold each another in a long embrace, like this.” He hugged me. “She’s amazing. She traveled to my body (at the Station) during our embrace, entered it with her consciousness, and experienced my orgasm. I don’t know how she did it. It was awesome. She took me to a higher level of vibration than I can go by myself and showed me that she could do it without using my technology. Even if I wanted to, I doubt that I could penetrate her mind with my technology or my telepathic abilities. She is definitely not of this Earth.”
I said, “Nevertheless, Amy has chosen to make herself a part of this Earth and is here in flesh and blood. She wanted to remove any thoughts I might have about her being a lesbian and told me in no uncertain terms that her essence is entirely feminine. I told her I already knew that.”
“You have nothing to worry about. Nothing has happened that you or Marjie need to feel any guilt or shame about. I told her I couldn’t manifest here in my own body because I’m radioactive in this dimension. She said she already knew something like that must be stopping me. She also said she knew what was going to happen to my body in the future and I shouldn’t worry about it. She didn’t want to tell me what, but I managed to wheedle it out of her.”
“How?”
“Very indirectly. I told her about all the injuries I have received in the past, how it affected my night vision, and how my body was falling apart on me. She blurted out that I didn’t have to worry about it, because I was going to get a new one. Then she accused me of tricking her but I said I thought it was okay because I always have a backup plan.”
At bedtime Didiwahtay gave me an enthusiastic hug. I hoped we would not have to leave him on the Hopi Reservation.
Demonstrating his knowledge of my unspoken thoughts again, Alta Sha nodded a greeting and said, “Freedom, my friend.” He 290
had recently said that was my new name.
I hadn’t noticed any big change in my self-awareness. “Hello, my friend. I wanted to ask you if we will we have enough time to take Amy to Tsankawi as well as taking Didiwahtay to the Hopi Reservation.”
“You will not be long at the Hopi Reservation. Didiwahtay is not prepared to stay there and will return with you, but of course he has free will.”
“In that case, why should we go to the Hopi Reservation? What will be accomplished there?”
“He will see and remember and learn.”
“Will that help him understand his purpose?”
“Yes.”
I wore a T shirt imprinted with a large portrait of Chief Joseph to the church we often attended. Amy was with us. Randall and Bertha (pseudonyms) introduced themselves, saying they were familiar with Chief Joseph’s story and that they conducted healing ceremonies at places where Native Americans had been involved in violent encounters in order to remove traces of negative energy.
Spiritual chills ran up and down my spine.
I introduced them to Amy and Marjie and shared that Mishaka had named Amy Reigning Dove. Bertha said that reminded her of a map of Earth’s western hemisphere in the book, Keys of Enoch, upon which the outline of a dove of Light was superimposed. According to the author, when the dove descended it would signal a positive change in the hearts of humans. Randall and Bertha believed that the Creator had arranged the events that caused them to move to Memphis instead of remaining in New England, where they had been quite content.
Nuke privately told me he was quite familiar with them. I wanted to invite them to lunch and to introduce him but he said,
“That’s premature. They have work to do before you get together for an in-depth discussion but it won’t take them long to finish it.”
Over lunch Nuke asked Amy, “Did you notice that anything unusual happened during your class?”
“My mike cut out twice for no obvious reason.”
291

He smiled. “Did you see the staff member I told to step on the wire so it would do that?”
“I didn’t notice him. By the way, I had a dream last night about some automatic writing I did two years ago in a language I didn’t recognize. There were two pages of it, and the only part that was in English said there was something important in Chaco Canyon.”
“Do you remember what I said about Chaco Canyon?” I asked.
“No.”
“That’s where the container with the energy beings inside is hidden.”
“I’m going to bring those writings with me the next time I visit.”
I was looking forward to that. Confirmation is always appreciated.
We were back at home when Nuke said, “I’m going to find out what Amy’s angelic name is.”
“Mishaka said she was Reigning Dove.”
“That’s a human name. I don’t think he would have named her if he had known she has an angelic name. I think Perithnea and Star One can find the name if they search for it in the plane of books.”
That evening Marjie said, “I feel like I’m supposed to do something.”
“Nuke wants to know what Amy’s angelic name is. He thinks you and Perithnea can find it at the plane of books.”
“Alright, I’ll do that.” I said a prayer and induced the trance.
Perithnea said, “We can’t go unless Alta Sha says it’s alright.”
After a brief pause she added, “He says we can, but first we have to play on my swing.”
Marjie described them swinging as high as they could before they jumped off and made a perfect landing in the place of books.
She said, “It’s still a mess. They’re scattered all over the floor instead of on the shelves. Perithnea says if you put the books on the shelves they jump right back off again. I see a book that’s shining very brightly. I know it’s the one we’re looking for. I’m going toward it.” She grabbed her left side near her armpit, coughed, and said, “A sword.”
I exclaimed, “A sword! What do you mean, a sword?”
“There’s a sword sticking in me.”
292
“Where did it come from? What’s it doing there?”
“There’s a big angel here with a sword. He’s sticking it in my side but it’s all right. I’m going to go get that book anyway.”
She removed her hand from her side, but immediately grabbed it again. I said, “Find out who’s stabbing you and why he’s doing it. Maybe you aren’t supposed to go to that book.”
“It’s alright. I’m going.” She coughed deeply. “I’m here now. I have it. The first page is cream colored, but it’s blank. I’m turning to the next page. I see the number 50.” (I had read somewhere, and Alta Sha had confirmed, that there is a hierarchy of fifty orders of angels arranged according to their responsibilities.) She continued,
“This is the Table of Contents. The book is divided into different sections. One section is Duties; another is Placements; another is Songs to Be Sung and here’s Identifications, which begins on page 58.
I’m turning to that section. I feel the sword again, but I’m still going to look. I see the picture of a guard and the word VEIN. You pronounce it Vee in. It’s the name of masculine guards with swords of Light who are the army of God. It’s a Vein that’s poking me with his sword. It doesn’t really hurt; it’s just uncomfortable and makes me cough. I’m turning to page 59. I see something that looks like a silhouette, but it’s silver, not black. It’s a kind of angel called a SILVETTE. They are very pure angels and give their purity to the Creator, which is all they do. Now I’m on page 60. I see the word AL. This is a type of angel which is a guide and guardian, like ALTASHA. They all have a name that begins with AL, and they are both masculine and feminine. One name I see is AL OHA; another is AL VING; another is AL NYE; another is AL LOH; another is AL
BE. There are very many of these. Now I’m on page 61.This page refers to locations within Creation. It is divided into nine commands, but I know that isn’t quite the right word for them.
Amy is in one of the nine divisions. I can feel her angelic name. It comes as a word that has to be sung. It’s not in a written language.”
“Perhaps you can sing it and try to spell it.”
“It sounds like this. Lyyyyyeeeaaarrryyynnn.” She spelled,
“Lieryn.” Perithnea sang it and Marjie imitated her.
I asked, “Did she come when you called?”
293
Error! No text of specified style in document.
Marjie smiled. “Yes. I’m finished now. It’s time to close the book.”
“Are you going to guide mother back, Perithnea?”
“Yes.”
Marjie returned to normal consciousness. I asked, “How did Lieryn look when she came to you? Was she in her physical form?”
“I saw her in both her Light and her physical form. She looked at me with very loving, gentle eyes and told me that I had seen enough and it was time to close the book.”
It had been long, spiritually active day. I was sleepy when I got into bed beside Marjie, who was lying on her stomach. She rose on her elbows and looked at me but it was Alta Sha who said, “She is singing the name correctly, but the spelling in your language is wrong. It should be Lyryn.”
“Thank you for the correction.” I was almost asleep when Nuke said hello. I replied, “We found your angel’s name.”
“I know. I’m grateful, but I feel like I’m in over my head.”
I said, “I’m too sleepy to talk about it right now. I need a nap.” I instantly fell asleep. When I woke Nuke was channeling. “Hello, Nuke.”
He answered, “I know more about her now and still feel like I’m in over my head. This is too deep for me. Compared to her, I feel like a crumb.”
“If you weren’t worthy of her you would not have met and you would not have been given this knowledge.”
“I talked to Mother. I told her I had learned that each type of angel has a certain tone associated with it, a combination of pitches, and if you knew all the tones and sang them in the proper order, you would connect with the Creator in a new, unexpected way. Mother said that was right. Aren’t you overwhelmed by all this?”
“Not really, I’m just taking it as it comes and waiting to see what’s going to happen next.”
“How do you do that?”
“I was awed in the first session I had with Marjie and she went to the Creator’s throne. I was awed the first time I spoke to Perithnea and the first time I spoke to Alta Sha. I was awed the first 294
time I spoke to you.”
“I guess it’s just normal to you by now.”
“I wouldn’t go that far. How did you figure out that if you sang all the tones in the right order you would connect with the Creator in a new way?”
“It’s knowledge I didn’t know I had.”
“Like a forgotten memory?”
“Not a memory.”
“If it’s not a memory, what is it?”
“A memory is about an experience you had.”
“Then where did the knowledge come from?”
“Someone planted it there. I think Amy has stimulated me to realize that I know it.”
“Why would you know about it if you aren’t supposed to make use of it?”
“I need to step back and think about all this.”
“If you decide not to continue with her it’s like saying either Breath doesn’t know what’s best for you or He doesn’t know what He’s doing.”
“That’s right.”
“Perhaps you’re about to find out that you’re an angel too.”
He answered, “Mother said Amy’s ego prevents her from remembering her full identity, but if the letters LY are painted in cedar ash on her forehead, it will unlock her knowledge.”
“Then that’s what we’ll have to do, but right now I have to go clean up the kitchen.”
“Thanks for talking to me about this.”
While I did chores, Nuke telephoned Amy and updated me. “I told her I knew her angelic name but I wouldn’t tell her what it is.
Instead, I said she was an extremely spiritual being and one couldn’t get much more spiritual than her. She said, I’m so glad someone finally recognized it, and laughed. I said she would have to come up here to find out what her real name is.”
When Amy came she gave me a copy of the poem she wrote which led me to believe she is also White Buffalo Calf Woman: The Quickening
295
Error! No text of specified style in document.
She stands alone,
A solitary figure dressed in white,
A quiver of rainbow arrows in each hand.
The sounds of angels humming and bees laughing Can be heard by peaceful confidants.
The stars and the sun shine simultaneously.
The room becomes a shining mirror.
Birds and buffalo flock to the crystal circle.
Her heart begging to be recognized.
Owls hoot a haunting chorus of magic spells.
Butterflies dance with lightning speed.
Fireflies glow in a golden indigo.
Her breath is a drum that beats out eternity.
Body, speech and mind emblazoned with flame Burn into thee the script of Yahweh.
Every step taken is like that of an innocent fawn.
The quickening is now.
Yours, mine, ours.
When reading it alone, I felt the hand of I AM on the crown of my head and thanked Him for the quickening. With eyes closed, I envisioned myself rapidly approaching the outer boundary of a galaxy and instantly entered our solar system. As I passed by Saturn, its tremendous energy made me quiver and I knew something was happening there which would affect everyone in our solar system. I again felt the hand of God at the crown of my head and sensed a deep spiritual connection with the huge ringed planet. I asked I AM to use me to do His work and to show me the steps I should take.
To prepare for receiving her angel name, Amy was lying on their bed in a spread eagle position. A candle flickered on the bedside table. When Nuke and I told her that writing the first letters of her name on her forehead would reveal her identity and purpose, she immediately entered a deep trance. Kneeling at her side, Alta Sha placed her left hand on top of his head and said, “Give me your blessing.” She silently did. He then stood up and helped her to assume a sitting position at the bedside. Amy winced with each 296
stroke of his finger as he used wet ashes to draw a mirror image of the letters LY on her forehead. He then held a mirror before her and sang her name three times, lengthening each syllable as was done when we first heard it. Amy looked stunned. Alta Sha smiled and said to her, “Now blow out your candle and create!”
Still entranced, Amy slowly looked at her reflection again and then at the candle. For perhaps a minute, she appeared to hear an internal voice and nodded agreement. She blew out the candle and appeared to receive more private information. After several more silent seconds, Alta Sha said to her, “Perhaps you will come into the living room and converse with me.” When we took our seats there he said to Lyryn, “Perhaps you will address me.”
Still entranced, Amy took his hand and mine, saying, “I have no words for you now.”
Puzzled, Alta Sha looked at me as if wanting an explanation. He followed my eyes as I looked at the hand still held by Lyryn and I said, “That is your blessing.”
To Amy he said, “I will take my leave. Perhaps you will find words to say to me later,” and withdrew.
Still silent, Amy reclined on the sofa. After a minute or so, Joseph, our adopted Teglinlin child, began to hum contentedly.
Amy emerged from the trance and smiled at him. He asked her,
“Do you know how Teglinlins sound when they’re sad?” She shook her head and he moaned as if grieving. He continued talking about trivial things in his normal, cheerful way.
I was very curious to know what Amy experienced when she received her name but she never said a single word about it. I understood Alta Sha’s puzzled look when he asked her to speak and bless him. Her secrecy was also a big disappointment for me.
Like Candace, she frequently withheld information that she knew I wanted to document. Although an angel at a spiritual level, her earthbound personality turned me off. I thought she was self-centered, attention seeking, and domineering. I was so frustrated with her behavior that I shared my irritation with Marjie. While I didn’t intend for Nuke or Amy to hear it, he did, and told Amy what I said. She requested a meeting with Marjie and me to discuss 297
Error! No text of specified style in document.
the situation. Nuke listened in and spoke through Marjie when he had something to add.
Holding a slender, leafless branch about a foot long, Amy said,
“This is a talking stick. If anyone has something that they want to say, they should pick up the stick. The only rule is that what you say has to be the truth.” She said the four of us we were like the corners at the base of a four-sided pyramid with God at its apex, and together we created a great deal of power. It was very important for us to radiate energy from the pyramid, for the waves of energy spread in all directions and affected everyone around us in ways we didn’t perceive. She said it was important to respect each other’s feelings and to give each of us space when we needed it. She emphasized how strongly she was committed to the process in which we were all involved. She had drawn a picture of the pyramid radiating energy that was identical to one I had visualized when meditating.
I replied, “I believe the mission is more important than any one person’s feelings. I am also committed to the mission and think breaking our team apart would be a tragedy. This process is far too important to let our egos rule.” I didn’t say I thought her ego was a large part of our problem and she probably thought the same about mine.
Marjie said to Amy, “I don’t want any of the people that I love to be in conflict with one another. I certainly don’t want to be the cause of any bad feelings. Even though I have no desire to be aware of what takes place between you and Nuke, I know that he needs physical contact.” She looked at me. “I want you to be accepting and understanding of that.”
“I don’t have a problem with it. If I had a problem with it, Amy wouldn’t be here, and I certainly wouldn’t accept you going to the trailer to spend the night with her. I already told Amy I believe her influence on you at a spiritual level can only be positive. I’m happy she is working with you. If I have offended any of you, I am sorry.
I love you.”
Nuke said, “I love every one of you and I can’t bear to lose any of you, but I’m afraid if we don’t separate, I will lose one or another 298
of you because of the conflicts between you. I suggested a separation so there wouldn’t be any conflict, but every one of you is stuck with me for eternity.”
“I already know that,” I said. “I have known it since the first two or three times we spoke to each other.” We all embraced.
That evening I told Amy and Nuke about my feeling that things of personal significance were happening on Saturn. He responded,
“Saturn is being used for mining purposes.’
“Are they mining diamonds?”
“How did you know?”
“The thought just popped into my mind. What applications do diamonds have in your technology?”
“They act as amplifiers of energy.’”
“I think the connection I felt was due to the diamonds. Amy had a vision of prosperity for us and we’ve been told several times from other sources that we’re going to receive a lot of money. Maybe we’ll get a bunch of diamonds before this is all over.” (That did not occur.)
When I asked Nucleus to interpret the automatic writing Amy had produced two years previously, he said, “You know what it means even if you can’t remember the language. Don’t pay attention to the marks, just react with your impressions.”
“Alright. Sarah and Joshua and some others are supposed to take a journey together. There seem to be coordinates here and a schedule that shows when and where certain things will happen.”
“You weren’t that far off. It says that two beings of similar species have traveled to Earth from the outermost planet of this solar system. The decayed remnants of their light beam craft are still here. There is a living presence in Chaco Canyon.”
He said the symbols at the bottom of the message indicated where the two beings had traveled, for how long, and so forth. I replied, “I think the two similar beings might have been you and Amy in another lifetime.” He didn’t comment. “What does this sentence mean?” It was written in English: Reverse orbit Saturn Sun Danas.
“It means that Saturn once belonged to the star Danas, the sister 299

to Sol (our sun), which captured it in the distant past.” I wondered how much the orbits of planets in our solar system had been affected by such a massive event. Nuke had told us that Danas and Sol would be in their closest proximity again in 2020. I wondered if that would cause cataclysmic changes in the orbits of our system’s planets again. Mass extinctions had occurred on Earth eons ago.
Was that another reason for the creation of a New Earth? (Many years later I was told that Danas’s orbit had been altered to prevent planetary cataclysms.)
Amy and Marjie sometimes spent hours together making artificial flower arrangements. After one such day, Marjie said, “I feel Tanner very strongly. I think we need to do some work.” We gathered in the living room. Marjie told me to fetch the main Newfoundland stone and to light cedar, sage and sweet grass for smudging. Tanner, Amy and I bathed in the smoke. He noted that the ingredients were still smoking and said to Amy, who was holding an ear of corn, “Why have you not honored me?” She handed it to him. He said, “I am honored. Have you been taking care of yourself?”
“Yes, I have been making more time for myself. By taking care of myself first, I have more energy for taking care of others. It works better that way.”
He asked me to honor him with something to drink and from the options I offered he chose coffee flavored brandy. He tasted it and said, “Good drink! What berry is this?”
“Coffee.”
“Not know coffee.”
“It’s a bean that grows on a bush,” Amy said.
He asked, “Reigning Dove take stone and read it for Tanner?”
Amy silently rocked back and forth for a minute before Tanner said,
“Why not read stone? Pick up stone.”
Holding the chipped end of the stone to her ear, Amy smiled. “I hear a wolf howling. It’s running. Someone who is not good is following it. Between its legs and behind it, there is a wall which looks solid, but it’s an energy field. It’s only air, but it feels like a barrier of some kind. They are going through it. They see an 300
overhang. There is a cliff and an indented place below it. They can’t go directly to it, so they are going up the right side to the top of the overhang. In the middle of it, there’s an opening. We are going down through it into a cave. The energy is very strong here. They are still being pursued. The energy is so strong that they are approaching it very carefully. There’s a lot of snapping and crackling and the smell of ozone in the air.”
Tanner said, “Stop. Say no more. Join circle again.” Amy’s eyes were still closed; her expression indicated she was receiving more information. Looking at me, Tanner said, “Woman does not stop.
Maybe Tanner will have to hit woman in head with stone.”
Smiling at his jest, I replied, “Perhaps she hears a different elder.”
He commanded, “Join circle! You speak from heart that all are one yet you stand outside circle. Why this so?”
“I think I am angry.”
“Do not let anger consume you. If you allow this anger, it will pursue you and destroy you. Reigning Dove cannot afford anger about the past.”
“I know.”
“If Reigning Dove will lead, you must choose a good path and look ahead at where you are going. If you look behind you will stumble on your path. You must look forward and lead your people well.”
“Yes. Do you know what Farina is?”
“No.” He looked at me with a puzzled expression.
She continued, “It’s made from wheat, a type of cereal. My aunt is on welfare and receives commodities. She was given some Farina. On the box, it says For Tribal Use, because it’s given to Indians who live on reservations to eat. I’ve been eating it and it’s terrible. It tastes like paper.”
Holding the ear of corn, Tanner said, “This is food from the Creator. Some days there will be plenty and that is good. Some days there will be little and that is good. Some days there will be none at all and that is still good. You are in days of plenty now, more than enough to eat, and in the future there will be plenty. Keep your eyes 301

on the path before you and do not look back. You are the leader.
Where you go, the circle will follow. Lead the circle. The circle does not need to go backward.” He withdrew. Amy said she was ready for bed and retired.

Chapter Nineteen: Adventures With Tanner And Amy
I was learning how to operate the new camera I thought we needed to make a video of the wrecked Alliance craft and the Viking Ship.
When Tanner channeled I gave him my full attention, waiting respectfully for him to speak first. After a moment of silence, he said, “What name shall I call you?”
“Man to Come.”
“We find stones, Man to Come. Where tortoise stone?”
“I don’t know.”
He pointed to the stone with the snake’s tongue from Manu Bijou. “This not tortoise stone?”
“That’s the serpent tongue. We found the tortoise stone when we were hiking back to the car.”
“Get tortoise stone.”
I searched the living room for it. Tanner took stones from a bag, saying, “Remember this one? Remember this stone? Teaching stones. We find another tortoise stone.” He patted me on the back, took my upper arms in his hands and shook them affectionately.
“We will find stone with…” he traced the infinity sign in the air with his index finger.
“Yes.”
Smiling excitedly, he bounced on his toes a few times before bowing his head and saying, “Tanner is grateful for your help.”
“I am grateful for the chance to help you, brother.” He withdrew.
The spirits of Red Cloud, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Geronimo and Cochise easily entered Marjie’s body on the cloudy morning of September 3, l997 as we prepared to leave for our westward journey. Amy and several other independent members of our interdimensional family joined us. Our destinations included 303
Error! No text of specified style in document.
Bandelier National Monument, Chaco Canyon and the Spanish Peaks. When we stopped for lunch, a red tailed hawk circled above our exit from I-40. Late that afternoon we checked into the motel at Cherokee, Oklahoma, and enjoyed browsing through the Native American crafts in the gift shop. We strolled down the hill to a small corral that contained a massive bull buffalo and two cows. After a few seconds Marjie said, “I’m feeling nauseous. One of the chiefs wants to leave and enter the bull.”
“Then let him go.”
She sighed. “Sitting Bull left.”
I laughed. “Of course, who else could it be? I wasn’t expecting him to leave so soon. I’m surprised that he entered a penned up bull. It seems too confining.”
“I think he’ll eventually be sent to a herd somewhere.”
In the morning we were blessed with clear skies and expansive western vistas. At mid-morning, Marjie said, “We ought to collect some sweet grass for smudging.”
I asked, “Do you know what it looks like growing in the wild?”
“I’m not sure.”
I stopped by a patch of grass I thought was the right kind but after smelling it, Nuke said it wasn’t. He also rejected another kind of grass a short distance away. I said, “Why don’t we just ask Tanner to find it for us?” Tanner told me to stop at a bunch of grass like the first one we had sampled; after gathering some he had us sniff the sweet-smelling ends of the severed blades.
We spent the night at White Rock, New Mexico, and went directly to Bandelier’s Tsankawi ruins in the morning. Except for a small group of tourists, we had the place to ourselves. Avoiding them, we took a well-worn path along the base of a sandstone cliff which led us by small natural caverns that had been enlarged by their former inhabitants. We then climbed to a higher path using a series of foot and hand holds cut in the soft stone, arriving very close to the cave where Mishaka had once lived. On hands and knees, we entered it.
Amy was delighted with Mishaka’s deeply carved portrait.
Speaking through Marjie, he said, “Welcome to my dwelling. Take 304
as much of the spirit of this place as you need with you when you leave. Man to Come, Reigning Dove, Star One (Marjie), instruct Didiwahtay.” He withdrew.
Amy gave us several tiny cloth pouches filled with tobacco and told us to hide them in nooks and crannies inside the cave. She also hid a few tiny stone doves. Using her backpack as a pillow, she lay on the floor and placed her medicine bundle on her chest.
Channeling, Didiwahtay said, “Smoke is rising from her body.
How does she make smoke when there is no flame? Is she on fire?”
Perhaps he had seen a portion of her spirit rising from her body. I didn’t see it.
Amy said, “The flame is inside of me.”
After a few silent moments Didi floored me by saying, “This is my home. I must stay here. Your camera is dirty. Take it outside and clean it.” My mind was racing as I followed his instructions: Alta Sha had said Didiwahtay was not ready to leave us and would return from our trip with us, but I knew Didi was free to choose a different path. If he stayed, how could we take him to the Hopi Reservation? Was Tsankawi the home of ancient Hopis?
He said to Amy, “Instruct me.”
She replied, “I don’t know what to say.”
After a few silent moments I crawled back into the cave.
Didiwahtay said, “I must stay here, Dada.” I put my arm around him and said, “Are you sure?”
He began to cry. “Wakan Tanka says so. I must stay here alone.”
I held him tighter, unable to stifle my own tears. “Can you see your family?”
“Yes, I see my mother and my father.”
“We didn’t think you would stay here. Alta Sha said you weren’t ready to leave us.”
“I am not ready, but I must stay.”
“You have free will. You can choose to stay here or go with us.”
“If I have a choice, I choose to go with you.”
“If you turn your back on what Wakan Tanka wants you to do, you will not be happy. The way to be truly happy is to do what Wakan Tanka wants us to do.”

“Then I will stay.”
“You won’t be alone. All of your spirit friends and your family will be with you and we will be with you in spirit. We can come to visit you.”
He sobbed. “Didiwahtay will stay. Now go! Go!”
Heartbroken and weeping, I crawled outside with Amy and Marjie following. Also crying, Marjie sobbed, “I felt him leave.” We embraced as waves of grief assailed us.
After a minute or two Didiwahtay channeled again, wearing a big smile. “Didiwahtay not alone! Tanner here. Tanner’s friends here. Tanner will teach Didiwahtay!”
We also smiled. What a relief it was to know he could still channel through Marjie! “I’m so glad! Thank you I AM!” We embraced.
We resumed our tour. Near the mesa’s top, we stopped when Marjie said, “I feel a little nauseous. I have to let go of one of the chiefs here. There he goes. It was Red Cloud. He went into that raven.” Three ravens flew very close to us, greeting with loud caws.
Marjie said, “It’s them! Tanner, Didiwahtay, and Red Cloud!” We joyfully laughed. As we proceeded along the path, and throughout the day, the ravens flew close to us from time to time. I wished I could join them.
Nuke began to channel during our exploration of the mesa top ruins, many petroglyphs and other enlarged caves. We enjoyed the spicy odor of pinion pines and the beautiful vistas as we climbed ladders, examined pottery shards, and caught glimpses of lizards, squirrels and chipmunks. One of the many pictures I took included Nuke squatting beside a signpost marked with the number 8. He was particularly fond of a horned toad he caught and released after we all got a good look at it.
A few hours later we headed for Taos, New Mexico, where we intended to spend the night. Still within the raven, Didiwahtay flew beside us at intervals and perched nearby when we took breaks. At Taos, we rented one of several adobe cabins facing an attractive courtyard that contained large bronze statues of animals and people under a huge cottonwood tree. The setting reminded me of 306
an ideal Mexican village.
After a delicious supper of Mexican food we drove into the hills in hopes of witnessing a spectacular western sunset, a star filled sky, and the night lights of Taos. At the crest of a hill, two colts were standing on the shoulder of the road instead of behind a sagging barbed wire fence. One of them affectionately nipped at a grown mare inside the fence while the other one pranced around as if ready to race. Fearing they might be hit by an unsuspecting driver after dark, I got out of the car and attempted to herd them back inside the fence with raised arms, but they had other plans and galloped across the road and into a deep arroyo, where one celebrated his freedom with a loud whinny. As I got back in the car, Marjie said, “Crazy Horse went into the black one just before it whinnied.”
I replied, “Everything is happening so quickly! Sitting Bull, Red Cloud, and Crazy Horse are already gone.”
After dark we saw flashes of light behind the mountains to the south. I asked Nuke if he knew the cause. He said some of his colleagues were having fun with interceptors that were scrambled when they “messed with” the transmissions from the Dulce base.
No one was being killed, but his friends were demonstrating their superior defenses.
We headed north toward the Spanish Peaks in the morning. As we reached U. S. 160 near Mount Blanca, the fourth tallest peak in Colorado, we saw a silver, spherical UFO above it. Nuke said it was one of his escorts.
Didiwahtay occasionally flew beside us in a raven while we drove over La Veta Pass and turned onto scenic Colorado 12, which winds north and south between the Sangre de Cristo Range and the Spanish Peaks east of it. Around noon, we rented a cabin at the Picketwire Lodge near Stonewall, Colorado, and took another spectacular drive south through the lush Tercio Valley, bordered on the west by several mountains over 12,000 feet high. A brief shower made the clay road as slippery as ice, causing us to slide into a shallow ditch, but the Suzuki Sidekick’s four wheel drive pulled us right out.

We were exploring a back country jeep trail leading up one of the mountains when Amy asked for a pit stop. After relieving ourselves, we gathered at the Suzuki. Amy was delighted when I gave her the small deer antler I had found. After a few minutes of meditation, we all walked up a foot trail, enjoying the sounds of nature, the glistening raindrops on the trees and brush, and the rosin scented, wonderfully clean air. It began to sprinkle and I carefully drove back to our lodging to avoid another mishap on the slick road.
The next day we enjoyed perfect weather driving to the top of Cordova Pass. I believed that I AM wanted us to find Rapsar’s wrecked craft and the remains of Tanner’s kinsmen somewhere above timberline and eagerly began the long uphill hike with Marjie and Amy. We were about halfway there when Marjie said she could go no farther. I didn’t want to leave her alone but she insisted that Amy and I should keep going while she waited for our return. I warned her it might be hours before we got back and urged her to take the car keys so she could wait in comfort, but she wouldn’t take them.
I knew that without a chair to sit on, Marjie was probably uncomfortable, so Amy and I rushed to reach timberline, which took longer than expected. When we were there we rested beside the trail in what appeared to be a man-made hollow about twelve feet across and three feet deep. Just above us lay a long field of unstable, shale talus. To keep hiking upward and still get back to Marjie in a reasonable period of time was impossible. With her back to me, Amy was silently doing her thing with bits and pieces she found on the bank of the hollow. I imitated her habit of not communicating her intentions and headed for a low stone wall about thirty yards away, thinking I might be able to see the crash site from its top. I thought Amy would notice my movement and ask if she wanted to know where I was going but she didn’t say anything. She knew I intended to return to Marjie as soon as we finished resting.
The view from atop the dike wasn’t helpful, but three noisy ravens flew by. Thinking they might be inhabited by our beloved 308
Indian spirits, I said, “Where is the cavern? Show me where to look.” They circled me and took off in single file toward the eastern side of the mountain. I decided to search in that direction if I ever came back.
Amy wasn’t in the depression when I returned a few minutes later and she didn’t answer several loud shouts of her name. I couldn’t understand why she had not waited for me and had not shouted my name before leaving. I hollered her name several times without result and thought she must have gone down the trail toward Marjie, so I walked fast to catch up with her. Neither she nor Marjie were waiting at the place where we had separated. I shouted their names several times and gave them a few minutes to respond. As I waited, a pair of camp robber birds approached. One flew directly at me, turning aside at the last possible moment to perch on a branch less than a foot away. Its mate joined it. They calmly watched me as I said hello. Then I heard Marjie shout my name and I answered. She and Amy walked up the path toward me. Marjie complained, “You’ve been gone for almost three hours!
I was worried about you. What happened?”
“I’m sorry you worried, but I told you it might be several hours before we got back. I tried to give you the car keys so you could wait there.”
“That isn’t all that’s bothering me. I don’t like the energy on this part of the mountain at all. I feel a lot of sadness in this place. It makes me want to cry. It’s not like the other areas we’ve been to.”
(Could this be where the Indians massacred Uncle Bob and Jessica?) Amy said, “I thought you went down the mountain without me.
I practically ran down the trail trying to catch up with you.”
“Why did you think that? We agreed to go down together, but even if we hadn’t, I’m surprised that you think I would actually leave someone I was with behind. I would never do that.” We exchanged apologies and headed for the car.
We were eating lunch at the trail head when I remembered we were also looking for the infinity stone, so I said, “Hey Tanner, where’s your rock?”
He pointed to one of the large rocks circling the ashes of an old 309

campfire and said, “There it is.”
I laughed. “You mean to tell me I climbed all the way up that mountain looking for your rock and it was right here?” I walked over and took a good look at it. “This isn’t the one we’re looking for. It doesn’t have the infinity symbol on it.”
“You asked where is my rock, not where is my stone.”
“This one’s too big to take home anyway. It needs to stay here.”
That afternoon we enjoyed sightseeing but had no talks with Indian spirits.
We returned to the meadow of sacred stones the following day looking for Tanner’s infinity stone and others which he said represented an animal, a bear paw, a teepee and a capital T. Hoping his spirit friends had returned the infinity stone, we fruitlessly searched the place where Marjie had first seen it and shouted,
“Cerenos, Zomolok, Aradiia! Where did you hide Tanner’s stone?”
Marjie said, “They’re laughing.”
We kept searching. I thought it was a lost cause when Marjie approached me and Tanner said, “Tanner find stone.”
I said, “Let me see.”
“No. You not believe. You will laugh.”
“If you say it’s your infinity stone, who am I to deny it?”
As if flaked from a much larger stone, the black, hand-sized and relatively thin stone had a rounded side and a flat side. He circled two adjacent bumps on the flat side with his finger to form a figure 8 and said, “See, eight. Worn down. Two years in snow. Not taken away. Snow moved it down mountain to there.” He pointed to a place about fifty yards away. I thought, No wonder the Utee spirits were laughing. On our first unsuccessful search for the infinity stone, Tanner had said Mother Earth had hidden the stone from him and later, Adam said it would turn up. They were both right.
As usual, Amy had wandered off to meditate and perform an exclusive, silent ritual. I believed she was communicating with the spirits of that place and was very frustrated by her secrecy. Like Tanner, I wondered why she did not stay within our circle. We had freely shared our spiritual experiences with her, but she often did not reciprocate.

Happy with our success, Tanner and I walked across the meadow. He stopped at the place where Amy had performed her ritual and said, “This is holy place.” He sat down, began rocking back and forth, and gestured for me to join him. I rocked in tandem with him for a minute before lying on my belly to embrace Mother Earth. He joined me and gathered some tiny alpine flowers, baby pine cones and other miniature plants that he gave to me. “These for your medicine bag. Help you remember this day.” I didn’t have a medicine bag with me and put them in an empty mini-cassette box, knowing I would never forget this day with or without them.
While driving down Apishapa Pass I expressed my frustration over not finding the crash site to Marjie. Tanner heatedly said, “The vessel is there. When it crashed the land of the mountain was good.
It is no longer good. Stones have fallen down. You cannot see it.”
I angrily said, “If I had known that before we made this trip I would not have spent six hundred dollars on a camera in order to film it!”
He raised his voice. “It is sacred place! It does not need to be filmed! You only want to be famous! You want to write a book so everyone will know you found the cave!”
“I have never sought publicity for myself!”
“Many times you say you will write a book.”
“Writing a book wasn’t my idea. Alta Sha told me to keep a record of everything because I would write a book about it. I didn’t ask anyone to tell me about the crashed vessel or the Viking ship!
You’re the one who made Candace read the stones and you wanted me to hear what she said. I don’t understand why I was allowed to think for months that I was going to find those things and allowed to spend hundreds of dollars for a camera I don’t need.”
“Tanner cannot read your mind.”
“I know you can’t, but there are others around me who can. Alta Sha observes everything Marjie and I do and knows my thoughts even when I don’t speak them. I don’t like being allowed to believe I’m supposed to do something and to get ready to do it when it isn’t true.”
“Stop! Give me looking glass. I find cave, show you!” I stopped 311

the car.
“It doesn’t matter if I can’t find it. I believe it exists and it’s something you hold sacred, but apparently it has nothing to do with me.”
“If a place is sacred it should be kept secret.”
“What is the point of something being sacred if no one knows it exists? If it’s sacred it should be shared. People want proof.”
“Then everybody come and walk all over it and not treat it as sacred.”
We got out of the car. Amy went off by herself again while Tanner and I walked toward a creek. I was deeply hurt by his words. “Do you really think I would encourage anyone to mistreat something you hold sacred? Alta Sha approved of it when I contacted that National Geographic photographer about joining us, so I naturally thought finding and filming the wrecked vessel and the Viking boat was a primary reason for making this trip.
Apparently I was completely wrong. So be it.”
He sarcastically said, “Tanner feels sorry for you.”
We walked back to the car. A large stone that was not there before was sitting on the road in front of it. Tanner pointed to it and said, “See? Reigning Dove find. Perhaps you can see teepee on rock.” I picked it up and saw marks resembling a tepee etched on a flat side of the gray, foot long stone. He waved goodbye to Amy and said, “Reigning Dove, Tanner see you in the next world,” and left.
It was devastating to think my complaints might have caused Tanner to permanently withdraw. Marjie looked anxious but said nothing. The failure to find the amazing discoveries I had been anticipating for months had instead become an emotional roller coaster leading straight to Hell. I had again been burned by freely expressing my feelings and resolved to keep quiet about them.
Near the bottom of the pass, I parked in a picturesque turnout by Apishapa Creek so we could stretch our legs. Marjie and I sat on a log next to the stream while Amy walked off by herself again. I grieved over possibly losing Tanner for good and timidly asked Marjie, “Is Tanner with us?” I was tremendously relieved when he 312
