One can only surmise that when picking the greatest dynasties of all time that official Major League Baseball does not have winning very high on their criteria list. Their number one pick the Brooklyn Dodgers of 1947-1956, lost the World Series to the Yankees five of six times, three of three to this 1949-1953 Yankee team. Fans nicknamed them “The Bums” for a reason. CHOKE!
It also seems interesting that the #5 Cincinnati Reds overlap with the #6 Oakland Athletics. They met in the World Series only once in 1972 and Oakland won.
But, so much for winning.
This is no science. The discussion of “greatest of all time” has been enjoyed by multitudes, though it is impossible to make accurate assessments between people and teams playing under different rules, having access to different methods of training,
different parks, and performance enhancing drugs including steroids. I mean, in the smaller parks of today, Babe Ruth and/or Mickey Mantle on steroids would have hit 90 home runs in a year, a thousand over the course of their careers.
But, the fun comes in viewing your favorite picks. Pick your own. These are apparently only mine.
