Charlie Silvera – All Five Years
"I helped start the Yankee dynasty! I was buried, but I was there. There were eight of us who were on the team for the entire five straight years of championships from '49 to '53 — Yogi (Berra), (Gene) Woodling, (Hank) Bauer, (Allie) Reynolds, (Vic) Raschi, (Ed) Lopat, (Phil) Rizzuto and me. I'm the one they always forget." - Charlie Silvera.
Note – Charlie forgot Casey Stengel, Johnny Mize, and Joe Collins.
Charlie Silvera was born on Monday, October 13, 1924, in San Francisco, California. Silvera was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 29, 1948, with the New York Yankees.
