BELIEVERS ARE NO LONGER IN ABRAHAM'S BOSOM, BUT IN HEAVEN

Ephesians 4:8-10

"8 As the Bible says:

"When he ascended into heaven,

he took many prisoners,

and gave people capabilities."

9 But what does it mean that he "went up"? Well, it means that he first went down to the deepest parts of the earth. 10 And he who came down is the same one who afterwards ascended to the highest heavens, to fill the whole universe."

The dwelling place of the saved before Christ died for us was also known as "Abraham's bosom" in Luke 23:43 and Luke 16:22. The abode of the unsaved is called "hell" or "Hades" in Luke 16:23. The dwellings of the saved and the lost were separated by "a great chasm." —Luke 16:26. All the unbelieving dead go there to await the future final judgment. Did Jesus go to Sheol/Hades? Yes, according to Ephesians 4:8-10 and 1 Peter 3:18-20.

Luke 16:19-31 "23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torment..."
