a foreword
Growing up, we had a family tradition. Every evening during Christmas time our father would read us classic Christmas stories. We would all gather up by the warmth of the fireplace, tucked into cosy blankets, a hot drink in hand… all lost in lands of our imaginary worlds. The joy, the togetherness, the nostalgia of it all is just irreplaceable. So, whenever I am down, I think of those moments. The comfort it brings is like no other. I pick up a Dickens or something similar and escape. I slow down. I stop for a while. I feel warmth in the heart, and in the soul.
So, for this festive season, I have compiled some of my favourite short stories together, both in written and spoken forms. I hope they bring you some warmth, comfort and joy.
