Glossary

Amerae, first, and therefore oldest order of angels, there are believed to be only two.
Fractured, these are souls who are left “partially eaten” by the souleaters. None appear to have retained any sense of their former selves and they can be lethal to ordinary souls
Imperatrix, ruler of the Icarthian imperium among the living
Memorolithics, the ability of a dead person, (mostly those who possess magic when alive) to manifest objects in Tharaxis by means of memory, energy, and visualisation.
Necromantic Thaumaturgy, refers to the study of magical abilities associated with the viral undead
Necropsychology, an obscure study of death, in particular the inability of certain souls to relinquish their former lives.
Shraeds, dark winged entities of Tartaros, and enemies of existence
Souleaters, mysterious double-jointed long-limbed winged creatures of uncertain origin, they possess no faces to speak of. They do have an enlarged mouth that can appear and disappear at will. Smaller mouths can also appear on their chest and limbs. They use these to feed on souls.
Spectral Thaumaturgy Resonance, refers to the advanced memorolithics abilities of Aiyana Todralan while she is present in Tharaxis. Her abilities in this area far outstrip anything any other soul can achieve and appears to be linked to the abilities of illusion she possessed before her death.
Temporal Disjunction, a study of time and its effects on both the living and the dead, convergences, and the wider inherent implications.
Transmaterial Dynamics, a study of the ability/inability of souls and other spirit-type creatures’ effect on the mortal world and their abilities to interact with it. For example, a dead soul passing through a solid structure such as a wall.
