Willem - Alexander convenes the tribunal with a silent gesture: a stack of index cards arranged in a Fibonacci spiral. Each card bears a single word; “Spectacle,” “Footnote,” “Entropy,”
“Tennis,” “Haunt.”
Oscar Pynchon arrives late, wearing a trench coat lined with rejection letters and muttering; “The subplot thickens.” He insists that “Infinite Jest” is a crime scene, and Wallace the prime suspect in the murder of linearity.
Albertina Agnes Mitchell enters mid-aria, interpreting the silence between Willem’s cards as a libretto of deferred meaning. She declares; “The book is an opera of parentheses. Its climax is absence.”
Queen Maxima Furrbaby descends from the Projection Room perch, tail flicking with sovereign indifference. She sniffs the Fibonacci spiral, then curls atop the card labeled “Entropy.” The tribunal takes this as a verdict.
Willem - Alexander scribbles a marginal note:
“Wallace, D.F. – Status: Ritual Adjacent. Requires scent based authentication.”
Oscar Pynchon objects. “You can’t footnote a feline’s gesture!” Albertina counters; “You can if it’s operatic.”
