They are fluent in the dialect of therapeutic capitalism. They speak in trauma metrics, in diagnostic hashtags, in the sacred tongue of "as someone who ..... " Their suffering is not theirs. It is leased to the platform, monetized by the algorithm, and repackaged for the next cycle of outrage.
And yet, beneath the choreography, beneath the disclaimers and the disclaimers of disclaimers, there is a flicker. A refusal. A glitch in the ritual.
It is the uncoached gasp. The unsponsored ache. The sacred blur that cannot be captioned.
This, perhaps, is the true rebellion: To suffer without spectacle. To ache without annotation. To bleed in a way that cannot be coached.
I. The Ritual of Onboarding
Before one may suffer publicly, one must be initiated.
Step One: The Naming Ceremony - The initiate selects their affliction from the sacred dropdown menu. Choices include: "Unresolved," "Triggered," "Gaslit," and "Other (please specify)."
