STARLIGHT UNBOUND
5. The House of Expression
The air in the next section seemed to pulse with life. Swirling colors and chaotic brushstrokes dominated the walls, an eruption of movement and emotion that felt almost jarring after the measured perfection of the previous exhibits. Abstract paintings clashed and blended in wild symphonies, each piece a riot of feeling —unrestrained, unapologetic.
At the center of the room, a holographic installation responded to movement, shifting in bursts of color and light with every gesture. Leona waved a hand in front of it, her face lighting up as the display mimicked the arc of her motion in vivid streaks of electric blue and purple.
Soft bursts of sound accompanied the shifting holograms—gentle chimes, distant laughter, the faint echo of a brush against canvas. The room seemed alive, responding not only to movement but to the presence of those within it.
She grinned. “Finally, something that doesn’t feel like homework!”
Darius laughed, nudging Lucien. “Admit it, this is more fun than those perfect little farm scenes. ”
Lucien watched the colors dance, a flicker of something stirring beneath the surface —curiosity maybe. But it was fleeting. He turned away before it could settle.

Stepping into the next section felt like descending into a whisper. The lighting dimmed, the works more restrained —quiet, contemplative.
6. The House of Introspection
Paintings depicted empty streets bathed in fading twilight, lone figures gazing out over distant hills, rooms cast in shadow with slivers of light slipping through cracked doors.
A sculpture near the center drew Lucien’s eye. Two hands, smooth and weathered, clasped together. The lines of the fingers were worn down, softened, as if sculpted by the passage of time itself.
Beside him, Carter leaned in, his voice hushed. “This one makes you think. I like it. ”
Lucien studied the clasped hands, his thoughts turning inward. Introspection.
