"But the harmony was not perfect. Faith gave humanity strength, but it also bred division. And as our knowledge grew, the heavens we worshipped began to feel distant, their light dimming in the shadow of human ambition."
The timeline slowed, shifting to a sharper, more modern era—the Industrial Age.
Towering smokestacks spewed plumes as massive gears turned with relentless precision. Trains roared across landscapes of steel and soot, and the first airplanes carved through the skies.
"The Industrial Age. A time of boundless innovation. We reached new heights of knowledge and power, reshaping the world with machines of our own design. For the first time, we believed we could command the forces of nature."
The crowd murmured softly, nodding as scientists toiled over inventions, railroads stretched across continents, factories roared to life, and airplanes zoomed across the sky promising a brighter future.
The images shifted, zooming into closer detail. Factories swelled, their interiors cramped and oppressive. Smog thickened in the skies, darkening once-thriving cities.
"But progress came at a cost. As our machines grew more powerful, so too did our divisions. We exploited the earth —and each other. And so began the slow descent into chaos."
The timeline pulsed, zooming into the era the Speaker named The Age of Discord.
Lucien watched as the world unraveled before him. Cities drowned in smog, rivers and lakes polluted, deserts forming in once lush areas of vegetation. Protests erupted in the streets, and governments toppled like dominoes under the pressure of economic and ecological disasters.
Skyscrapers burned. Markets crumbled. Refugees trudged through barren wastelands beneath skies thick with ash.
"The Age of Discord. A time when greed and division consumed our world. Technology advanced, but morality did not. Without guidance, humanity turned on itself, plunging into decades of suffering and loss."
Her voice lingered on the word loss, as if speaking to an old wound that had yet to fully heal. The holograms shifted again, displaying key moments of collapse —leaders shouting in council chambers, riots exploding into violence, and soldiers clashing with desperate masses.
