skyline, their polished exteriors cracking under the disbelief.

“This has to be a hoax,” a man whispered, his voice trembling. “AstroSYS would never—”

“Shut up,” a woman hissed, eyes darting around in panic. “Don’t say that out loud. Just... wait for the Order to respond.”

The carefully curated harmony of the upper districts had fractured, uncertainty rippling through the streets like a fault line ready to split wide open.

In the lower districts, the reaction was anything but quiet. Crowds flooded the streets, voices rising in a chaotic symphony of rage and vindication.

“They’ve been erasing people!” someone shouted, their voice tearing through the roar. “Recalibrating them—like they’re nothing!”

Another voice, hoarse but resolute, rose above the noise. “I knew something was wrong. I always felt it. ”

It spread like wildfire, igniting every corner of the city. For some, it came in the form of paralyzing disbelief; for others, it was a spark of rebellion. And for many, it was fear—deep and all-consuming.

Drones hovered lower over the streets, their searchlights slicing through the crowds, their mechanical whirring a constant reminder of the Order’s presence. Stewards patrolled in larger, tighter formations, their movements clipped and deliberate, their authority pressing down on the people like a vice.

But despite the increased presence of control, something new stirred in the air. In one of the lower sectors, a group of young citizens broke away from the main crowd. They raised their fists to the sky, their voices ringing through the night with unshakable defiance.

“Starburst! Starburst! Starburst!”

The chant grew louder, spreading from street to street like an anthem of rebellion.

In another part of the city, a Steward confronted a group of protesters. His grip tightening on his weapon, the familiar instinct to suppress and contain kicking in. But as the crowd pressed forward, their faces raw with determination, something flickered in his eyes—hesitation. And instead of raising his weapon, he stepped back, uncertainty cracking through the rigid training ingrained in him for years.
