The city stretched out before them, sprawling and endless. The Spire loomed in the distance, its towering form both a beacon and a threat. No turning back now.

Lucien followed closely behind Lyra, his boots scuffing against the pavement. Harun walked in stride beside him, the bag slung over his shoulder clinking softly with its contents. The city was bathed in its artificial light, its cold capacitance failing to reach the narrow corridors between the tall structures.

Lyra turned to the group, her voice low but firm. “Stick together. Stay quiet. No sudden moves. We can ’t afford mistakes tonight.”

Harun gave a reassuring nod, adjusting his bag. “Don’t worry. We’ll make it. ”

Lucien wished he could share Harun’s confidence.

The city at night was a different world.

What once seemed pristine now felt hostile, the towering structures slicing harsh lines into the streetlights. The hum of surveillance drones overhead was a constant reminder of AstroSYS’s ever-present watch. Even when the streets appeared empty, Lucien couldn ’t shake the feeling of being watched.

His eyes darted around, catching small details that had always been there but had somehow escaped his notice before:
