Chapter 18
The Second Rocket Launch
On December 12th, I launched the rocket for the second time, but this time, I was inside it for the first time.
That's correct!
It was December 12th, and Xeyamia was there as well.
Well, it was early morning, around 9 AM, when the rocket took off again with me inside for the first time, while Xeyamia stood on the grass observing the launch.
And it's important to note that I had already informed her of the launch date after convincing her to accompany me.
So, we both arrived at the garage near the sea early that morning for the rocket launch.
Before I entered the rocket as an Astronaut to Pilot it, I showed her how the remote worked, just in case something went awry.
“Xeyamia?” I called out while we stood on the lawn outside the garage next to the parked rocket.
“Yes, Werley Nortreus?” She replied. “What else do you want to tell me?” Xeyamia asked.
“I just showed you how the remote control and computer function, right?” I replied. “Do you understand everything I demonstrated?” I then asked her. “Yes, I understand everything you showed me!” He answered.
“Are you sure?”
“Do you have any questions?” I asked. “No, I have no questions!” She replied. “Okay.”
“Good.” I said, kissing her on the side of her face.
“Listen carefully!”
“When you see me make the sign of the cross with my hands, you know I'm ready, and you must press the button immediately.”
“Do you understand?” I instructed her. “Alright, I understand.”
“No problem.” She responded with a smile.
As I prepared to board the rocket, which had only one seat for me, Xeyamia remarked, “Okay, it looks like I have work to do here,” while I settled inside the rocket, arms ready for launch.
Soon, she asked if she could press the launch button.
“Are you ready?” She called out loud.
In response, I made the sign of the cross with both hands to signal that I was ready.
Then, she pressed the button, and the rocket launched flying up. “Yupi!”
“You did it!”
“Oh my God! I am so proud of you!” She said loudly and she was jumping and pumping on the lawn so happy.
At last!
The rocket has launched!
As it ascended, both residents and tourists at the beach witnessed the spectacle, along with other city dwellers who also saw the rocket soaring once more.
“Wow, it happened again!” One person walking on the bridge exclaimed. “It looks like there's another rocket following the first one,” another resident remarked.
A passerby on the street responded, “Really?”
“Where?”
“Look up at the Sky!” The same person shouted again.
“Did you see it too?”
“What?” Others replied in confusion. “Everyone, look up at the Sky!” The person urged again.
“Oh my God! He's right!” Another exclaimed, this time a white individual.
Indeed, it appeared that someone had contacted a news station to report the event.
Without delay, television and radio stations, along with various Journalists and Photographers, hurried to the Urban beach to capture the unfolding event.
Moments later, as the beach became crowded, the Mayor—a white elderly man— was in his meeting room with City Board Members when, unexpectedly, they spotted a rocket ascending.
“Thank you all for accepting my invitation,” the Mayor addressed his guests. “Am I clear on everything I’ve said?” The Mayor asked the guests.
Naturally, the meeting took place in a skyscraper, since they appreciated the design of these structures in the City.
Then, as one of the guests glanced out the window, she noticed the rocket and exclaimed, “Wait a minute, Mayor! There’s something I want you to see.”
“Excuse me!” The Mayor yelled unaware about the situation.
“You need to look outside through the window, Mayor," she insisted.
Indeed, when the Mayor and the guest looked, they saw a rocket soaring above.
The Mayor quickly grabbed a portable telescope he had on his desk and gazed at the rocket.
“What? How can this be?” He questioned. “Is the Government aware of the rocket?” He asked his guest.
“No, not at all!” They responded. “I want answers immediately! We need to inform our fellow Authorities about this quickly!” The Mayor declared.
Minutes later, the Mayor, including Government employees, and Police Officers arrived at the Urban beach to observe the rocket closely from below. “Get out of my way, everyone!”
“I’m the Mayor! Let me through!” The Mayor shouted as he struggled to reach the front.
Suddenly, one of the officers announced, “Attention, everyone! Kindly allow the Mayor and the Government Officials to pass ahead!”, “Please, step aside and clear the way!”
As a result, the crowd that had gathered made way for the Mayor and the Government Officials.
It felt as though the Urban beach was bustling with people, while news and radio stations there were covering the event, and various photographers and videographers captured images and footage as well.
