Stevie's eyes sparkled with excitement as he approached Jane,
his tail flicking with delight. "I'm Stevie, and I've come to
keep you company," he seemed to say with a gentle meow.
Jane chuckled softly and reached out to pet Stevie, her touch
gentle and soothing. "Well, Stevie, I'm glad you're here. I've
always wanted a kitten to keep me company during my time here."
From that moment on, Stevie became Jane's constant companion. He
followed her as she went about her duties as a governess,
bringing joy and comfort to her days. Stevie's playful antics
and affectionate nature made him a beloved member of Thornfield
Hall.
Stevie loved to curl up on Jane's lap as she read by the fire,
his purrs providing a soothing background to the crackling
flames. He listened to Jane's stories of her past, her hopes,
and her dreams, feeling a deep bond with her. Stevie sensed that
Jane had faced many hardships, but her resilience and strength
inspired him.
One day, as Jane took a walk through the gardens, Stevie trotted
beside her, his eyes wide with wonder at the beauty of the
flowers and trees. They came across Mr. Rochester, the enigmatic
master of Thornfield Hall, who took an immediate liking to
Stevie.
