Ice skating is so much easier

when you're holding my hand

Blue bruises hurt much less

when I hear the sound of your laugh

And I could go round in circles

I could jump over hurdles

You make familiar sights feel new

And I would see the evergreens

played on repeat if I could be with you

Picking up the pace

Like we own the place

Flying even when falling

We're celebrities

On our own TV show

that nobody's watching

It was smooth sailing

In the roughest of times

And my heart's racing

As we race through the night

Ice skating is so much easier

when you're holding my hand

Blue bruises hurt much less

when I hear the sound of your laugh

And I could go round in circles

I could jump over hurdles

You make familiar sights feel new

And I would see the evergreens

played on repeat if I could be with you

When springtime is finally around

And they're closing the skating rink down

'til the next year

We'll celebrate all the mistakes

The ice melting under our skates

We'll jump in the puddles they make

Ice skating is so much easier

Blue bruises hurt much less

when I hear the sound of your laugh

And I could go round in circles

I could jump over hurdles

You make familiar sights feel new

And I would see the evergreens

played on repeat if I could be with you

Oh I would see the evergreens
