Epilogue

The age of the owner companies had ended and replaced with something fairer. The domes were renovated, dark plastic cleaned, systems fixed, buildings rebuilt.

Human conditioning was banned and broadcast media such as the goggle was limited to entertainment. Education was free and by citizen request only. They founded the new state with a duty of supply, not only of education but also of healthcare and nutrition. Citizens travelled freely and many settled in the lands surrounding the city. Some chose to stay in the domes, incentives given to those that wished to stay and produce essential goods.

The exenviro had open access to the domes and travelled as they wished. Some chose to learn the skills of the wizards and live in the domes, others chose to live in the city lands or even stay exenviro. As citizens of the new state, they were entitled to help towards upgrading their halls using tek for heating, lighting and farming if they wished it.

Trade continued with a difference, it was now by ‘choice’. All citizens had the same rights and advantages. High inequality was frowned upon, there was no appetite to repeat the mistakes of the Owners and wealth was capped, although moderate inequality was allowed as an incentive to production.

The so-called synthetics prospered. They gravitated to positions such as teachers, scientists and artists and avoided politics and positions of power. They understood human nature enough not to separate themselves from humanity. Their influence was subtle yet beneficial. Nera taught the early synthetic groups that their role was to live amongst humans to assist and teach, never to control, this was the way of warfare. Humans did this enough to one another.
