56 AN ULTRA VIOLENT FAIRY TALE

“I can’t believe my club is gone.” Luke said.

“What? What did you say?” asked Eric.

Luke’s head was between his knees while Maureen rubbed his back, both of them looked up at him like small children at an angry parent.

“What the fuck did you say?” Eric asked again.

“...t-thu-the club, Crow’s Nest, muh-I mean our...”

“What you mean ours?! I built it with my own mother fucking hands.” he shouted.

“He meant ours, it’s Luke’s too.” Maureen said.

“Who the fuck asked you, you god damn hippo? Your four hundred pound ass is just as responsible for all this. Now don’t open your mouth again unless it’s to eat a fuckin pie.”

“Hey lay off.” Luke said.

“Mother fucker!” Eric said grabbing his brother by the front of his shirt with one fist and putting the knife to his brothers neck with the other.

“Stop, please.” Luke said as Maureen whined.

“I swear to fuckin Christ even if I live I’m gonna slit your throat, do you fuckin hear me?” he said and tossed his brother.

He got up quickly and fell backwards towards the window lined wall before regaining his balance. He snorted an angry guffaw at Eric.

“You didn’t build shit, dad did.”
