“Are they gone?” Alyd asked, climbing the stairs. She looks like she has been sleeping for hours.

“Yes but we are leaving,” I said.

“When?” she asked, surprised.

“Now” I commanded. “Officer Gary is a werewolf. He knows you’re here, your smel was al over the place”

“Who is Gary?” She asked.

As he pul ed me up I wondered what we were gonna do now. He had to leave very fast. He didn't even taste the dinner I had prepared for him. My love. My hero.

We were running on the streets at night. Cee holds my hand. What’s the plan now? Where are we going? There are only stars and a ful shattered moon in the sky. I could see the shadows fol owing us with their eyes from the rooftops as we were more and more inside the city’s bit tal wal s. Frightening concrete jungle. Where your soul could get lost. “How long are we running?” i asked

Stil surprised by what I just heard inside my head, I quickly went into the kitchen. It was hard moving fast in our tight black and white maiden dress al of us girls were wearing. Then I heard him again in my head. “look for the ful moon at midnight”

That night I couldn't sleep. My lady sends us girls to our dorms at 9 O'Clock every night. It was a very long wait until midnight. I thought about going outside but if My Lord or My Lady saw me leaving my room at night I would be in trouble. My Lord had touched us girls before in private places and hit us as punishment before. So I looked for the moon through my window. Had to wait a few hours until it appeared in front of me and there it was. Shattered Moon was red and I saw a beast standing in front of it, not the man that talked to me through his eyes, but a beast.

He walked towards me. I felt safe. He took me. I woke up inside his house and had never left it until tonight.

“We wil not hide tonight, he found us” Cee said

He pointed me at the rooftops where I could see a hairy beast fol owing us. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop while we ran in the streets evading people.

“He ain’t coming down yet, too many people, but we need to hide” He said to me. He was stil holding my hand at a fast pace. We had been running for hours by now. Moon was also red tonight as the night we met. Coincidence maybe? I don’t know, i don’t care.

One day sitting in my rocking chair on the porch, it hit me. That scent. I had smel ed it before.

But where? In the dream. The scent I could smel when the red girl sent me a blowing kiss in my dreams.

I fol owed the scent. I went through the mountains and climbed a tree, the highest one I could find. That's when I saw her. She was working on the field outside the mansion. Picking up carrots, reaching them into a bag. going inside and outside to do it al over again.

I didn't make my approach that day. I waited. Wolf instinct. let everything settle down. But I came back many times just to see her again. I was fal ing in love. Everytime, she was more beautiful, like the universe was getting ready for our meeting and I would always be waiting for the perfect moment in the tal est tree.

The day arrived. The routine broke. She walked down through the mountain trail with a bag ful of carrots. I decided to close in. I appeared in front of her as the beast I am. 4 meters tal . hairy and scary against her barely 1.5 meters.

“What do you have there?” I asked.

She saw me. She was not surprised. I could smel her sweat.

“My lady sent me on a quick trip” she answered

“What kind of trip?” i asked.

“I have to deliver these carrots to Lady Grandma up the hil , she is sick and needs the food.'

She stared at me without moving a muscle. It was clear to me that a higher power of love wanted me to take her away from her captors but I decided to wait again. Wolf instinct.

“Good,” I said. “be useful to… your Lady” I walked away into the forest.
