Dearest Reader,

    After all this time we’ve spent together, me writing for you, you reading what I wrote, I have a secret to tell you.  Lean in, so you can hear me whisper.

    I’m an independent novelist.  

    I know.  How could I admit to such a thing?  How could I admit to being without the resources of a publishing company?  How could I admit to designing my own cover?  Hiring my own editor?  There’s no acknowledgments page because the only person I need to acknowledge is my editor and she is getting paid more than I am.  It’s super embarrassing! 

    Now that you know I did not receive a royalty advance and no one is paying for my advertising, could you do me a little favor?  Pretty please.  If you enjoyed my book, could you put a post on your social media saying you liked the book and get the word out?  If you have a blog, you could write about my book on your blog.  You could post a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or anywhere.  You could follow my blog (https://stephanievanorman.blogspot.com) or on Facebook (svoauthor).  That way you would know when I come out with a new book.  If you liked reading this book, you might like my other books.  Not that I want to jab them down your throat or anything, but ya know… if you were looking for something more to read.
