Olive confronted Agnes and Carl at Harris Enterprises in Sidney’s office the next day. She fired Agnes but kept Carl employed, as she figured it was not his fault that the affair had taken place. She told Carl the news that Sidney was his father.
Agnes sobbed and nodded in agreement with Olive’s news. As Agnes told him that his birth father abandoned them when Carl was a year old, Carl was furious.
He moved out of her house the next day.
Olive was still distraught over Sidney’s death and other infidelity news two weeks later. She had his cell phone in her hand and looked through all the text messages he had sent and received.
A new text message arrived. “Sidney. Where the hell is my money for the escort I sent to your son-in-law’s hotel room? You never stiffed me in the past for helping you out with your situations. I want my money!” Bruno’s text message stated.
Olive was pissed. “Mister Bruno. This is Sidney’s wife. He died last week. You won’t be getting your money. Feel free to call the police,” she typed in her reply text message.
She never heard back from Bruno.
After checking out Sidney’s cell phone some more, she discovered Howard’s message about the balance of his payment. Olive called Howard to learn more about his vague message, and he told her everything. Olive paid Howard his balance for his spying on Brett. She did not find fault with Howard because Sidney was a sneaky jerk.
After hearing about Dorian shooting Brett and Dorian being shot by the police, Howard gave up on the idea of being a Private Detective.
Olive sold Harris Enterprises and moved to her dream home in Hawaii six months later. She started dating a lovely man who was two years her junior.
The new owner of Harris Enterprises terminated Carl, as he wanted to have her own management in that position.
Meanwhile, back in Columbus, Brett finally grew his mustache.
Bret sold his house in Fort Wayne and brought Abby down to Columbus. He began his job with Sky King Aviation and was able to secure a position for Bruce in the finance department.
Brett and Corrie got married, and Olive showed up at the wedding, to his surprise.
Olive gave them a check for three hundred thousand dollars as a wedding present, as her way of saying she was sorry for Sidney’s behavior. She also ensured that he received all his retirement funds and assisted with selling his house in Fort Wayne.
Because of Olive’s generosity, Brett quit his job and worked full-time with Corrie’s business. They used the $300,000 wedding present to enhance Corrie’s business.
A month later, at the Columbus airport, a new Piper Warrior was on final approach for runway 14.
The Warrior made a smooth landing.
The Warrior taxied over to the flight line and proceeded to Corrie’s building.
The Warrior parked, and the engine was shut down.
The door of the Warrior opened, and Brett and a young woman, about twenty-five years old, got out and they walked down the wing.
They walked around and tied down the airplane.
They walked over to the building.
“You did very well with your third lesson. Keep this up, and you’ll be soloing before too long,” Brett told the young woman.
“I’m going to love flying,” she replied with a smile.
“It’s the only way to go,” he replied.
They walked to Corrie’s building with a new sign that read, “High Flying Adventures – Brett and Corrie Woods Owners,” hung above the door.
Parked near the door to their new business was a brand-new 2013 red Nissan Z. Brett finally got the car that Dorian had not allowed.
Brett held the door open for the woman. They went inside.
Inside the High Flying Adventures building, the lobby walls were decorated with all kinds of new aviation memorabilia. Also on the wall behind the counter was a framed picture of Brett and Corrie at Irwin Gardens, a copy they had taken of the 1918 Irwin Gardens picture, next to a beautifully crafted pencil sketch of Corrie.
Britney worked on some paperwork behind the counter.
Brett and the young woman sat down at a briefing table inside the redecorated pilot’s briefing room. He took her logbook and filled in the entry for today’s lesson.
He gave her logbook back to the young woman.
“I guess I’ll see you in a couple of days,” Brett said.
“I’m looking forward to another lesson,” she replied, then got up and left the room.
Inside Corrie and Brett’s office are two desks; one for Brett and one for Corrie.
She worked on some paperwork.
Brett entered their office.
“How was the lesson?” she inquired.
“She did great. Might be as good as you one day,” he replied with a smile.
Abby lay on the floor near Brett’s desk. She wagged her tail, noticing Brett.
Brett and got up. “Are you ready?” Brett asked Corrie, petting Abby.
“Yep,” Corrie said. She got up from her desk.
Brett and Corrie approached the counter in the lobby. Abby followed.
“Britney, could you watch Abby?” Brett asked.
“I would love to,” she smiled. “Come here, Abby,” Britney called out.
Abby walked behind the counter and sat down next to Britney.
Brett and Corrie walked out to the front door, holding hands.
Later that day, high above the sky in the eastern area of Columbus, the Stearman flew forty-five hundred feet above the Columbus countryside.
Corrie sat in the front. Brett piloted from the rear.
Brett flew the Stearman into a loop. “Whoaa!” Corrie cried out during the loop.
