Chapter 5

A date with Dave

I woke up feeling refreshed and happy to have had a good long sleep. The sound of my mobile had woken me. I looked over at the clock and it read ten twenty-five.

Grabbing my phone clumsily I noticed that I had a text from an unknown number. It read, ’Hi Alex, was great to meet you the other night, got time for a coffee today? Say 3 o'clock at Costa up on The Royal Mile? My treat. / Dave.’

I hadn't even given Dave a thought, come to think of it, which was strange because he was indeed handsome and very nice.

I glanced over at my painting, stared at it for a few seconds then shook my head and said out loud: “Get a grip Alex!”
