GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22.

The warm, latter days of February may be rushing the season just a little, but trees are beginning to bud, and soon the beautiful harbingers of spring: Jonquils will grace the defoliated landscape with their singular, God-given, beautiful clothing. Our hearts rejoice to see the whole earth awakening anew, and right on time. How long has this been happening? Since creation. How long will it continue? As long as the earth itself stands. The cyclic joy of seasons is an unavoidable and undeniable testimony of our Wonderful Creator God about life itself. When our springtime turns to winter, and we move about on the earth no more, it is far, far from the end. We live on in the marvelous world of our God, awaiting yet another springtime of life that we shall know right here on this earth. One that far exceeds what is presently known. We rejoice, because God is faithful! The prophet said it so well, “It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24. And God said to Noah, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

FOR THOUGHT: Have you heard that as the age comes to a close one will not be able to tell the difference between the seasons? Now you know that is not so, and you know what God has said. Do you believe Him? Have you believed Him about your soul? If not, won’t you trust Him?
