ARE IN-LAWS BECOMING EXTINCT’’

Some terrible societal negatives were launched in our country immediately following the shining valor of the greatest generation. But the occasion for the rise of the greatest generation was also the cause of the slide toward anarchy. Think about it!

In WWII the U.S. population which had been as much as 90 percent rural began massive reversal. Soon it was more like 10 percent rural. When the men went off to war, the women moved to town to work in war support industries. They liked the modern conveniences of the cities, and would not consider returning to the country as an option. Then came the deluge of material advancements and more modern conveniences. But it came with a price tag. It would take two wage earners now to afford keeping up with the Joneses. So more and more, adults were busy getting ahead, and less and less attention, example, and consistent discipline were given to children. But the agnostic and atheistic professors were there waiting in the educational wings. Additionally, a major force driving youth to the hippie generation of the 1960s was the unwise political decisions that put military forces in Korea and Vietnam with no intention of using all available forces to win the wars. Young men saw it as a plot to put them in the ground and fled to Canada and other places while still others turned to drugs, and rejected the material rat race.

In this scenario moral and legal restrictions were abandoned as well. LTAs (Live Together Arrangements) began to make a large impact on society. Then, these began to give way to more sinful, irresponsible “stands” ranging from one night to a few weeks or months creating a sea of single moms incapable of properly caring for, and raising children, especially when having to work to provide basic necessities. Again, forces of ungodly elements in society were depended upon for childcare leaving little time for children with parent(s) other than sleeping time. Of course, these children, in the main, follow basic, sensual patterns as a natural result. They are aided in that direction as government welfare programs, and tax laws are geared to economically disfavor marriage. So, what is to become of in-laws? With the laws of marriage ignored and/or set aside, there soon will be no relationships in-law. It is more than a little disconcerting, but it is a tag of society in the twenty-first century. As society sinks, is the return of the Lord far away?? Remember I Corinthians 10:14,“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”
