WE’VE BEEN THERE BEFORE

Powerful forces relentlessly work to undo systems and order of life, particularly in those governmental systems founded upon the Judeo-Christian tradition. Popular songwriters encourage lawlessness favoring selfishness, particularly those of momentary pleasantries regardless of whomever may be harmed. Many Financially powerful forces bankroll anarchists whose purpose is to kill and destroy in order to have brief reveling in the quagmire and cesspools of sin. Powerful political forces seek the demise of the rule of law and order while the people’s representatives, gatekeepers of constitutional foundations, acquiesce to protect their place, exorbitant salary, and retirement benefits, not realizing that this will be their undoing as well. Where will it end? Where is it all headed? Is there a Shangri-La of lasting goodness free from any encroachment of law and order for sinful men? The truth is NO! WE HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE!

Solomon declared that there is nothing new under the sun. Should anyone say here is something new, it has already been of old time.

God destroyed civilization in the days of Noah because they achieved their sinful mecca which was so rotten it repented God that He had made the species. Then, in a short time an island of that very philosophy was established in the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. It, too, was destroyed by the Lord. Again, it was not long before that same philosophy prevailed among God’s people, Israel. Judges 21:25. Their submersion into the personal rule of their fleshly nature consistently led them into slavery to other nations until their sense of rightness and repentance returned. Jesus prophesied these very conditions would, in time, return. Indeed, we have been there before.

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes…” Prov. 12:15. As America sinks in the cesspool of personal desire, it is an environment eliciting the finest hour for the true churches of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a time to draw closer to God; to stand; to pluck the last gleanings of harvest from the fires of hell; to witness of impending doom, and this doom will be the last doom of the age. It will be Armageddon. We have not been there before, but know of a surety, it is just around the corner!

FOR THOUGHT: Do you see what is has already been? The question remains, will you fall in the impending doom, or will you turn to salvation and life in Christ Jesus? Do you think Solomon was correct in his
