PSALM 90:13-17: A Prayer of Moses (Con’t)

“13 ORD Return, O L, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. 14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17 And let the beauty of

the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”

Verse 13, “Repent” is “Nacham,” to console or comfort Verse 14, “Satisfy” is “Saba’,” to be sated, filled to capacity to receive Verse 15, “Afflicted,” is “‘Anah,” to be humbled, brought low

Verse 16, “Appear,” is “Ra’ah,” to see, be seen, exhibited, discerned. Verse 17, “Beauty,” is “No’am,” kindness, pleasantness, favor, beauty. “Establish,” is “Kuwn,” firm,

fixed, stable, secure, accomplished.

AMPLIFIED TRANSLATION

13, Turn back, O LORD, how long (must it be)? Thus console and

comfort thy servants.

14. O, satisfy [fill to absolute capacity] us with thy mercy [kindness], that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15. Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted [humbled, brought low] us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16. Let thy work appear [be seen, exhibited, discerned] unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17. Moreover, let the beauty [kindness, pleasantness, favor] of the LORD our God be upon us; and establish [fix firmly, securely and sure] thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.”
