MOTHER EVE DID NOT BIRTH JESUS

“And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from [even] the LORD.” Gen. 4:1

Following the tragedy of our federal parents in transgressing God’s word and bringing sin into the nature of the human species, they were informed of God’s plan of redemption. While a lot of details are not recorded for us, we understand that the first symbolism of Jesus and His cross-work is depicted in Genesis 3:15. Proper instructions for acceptable sacrifices were also given. Is it any wonder then that the first couple began immediately to look for God’s salvation in Whom He would send? It would appear that the time element of His coming into the world was no more divulged to them than is the time of His second coming to us, in fact, not as much since the signs of His nearness is given to us in many scriptures.

To further the point of this article, translation must come under scrutiny. The suspicious translation is the word, “from.” There is a Hebrew word commonly translated “from” but it is not in play in this verse of scripture. In fact, the graphic translated “from” is the untranslatable sign of the definite direct object of the sentence. So, the verse would more properly read, “. . . I have gotten a man, Jehovah.” If a translation were to be assigned to the emblem of the definite direct object, it probably would be, as precedent shows, “even” rather than “from.”

Doubtless, there was much Eve did not know regarding the appearance of Jesus (Jehovah), including the necessity of His being born of a virgin. She was yet to learn the far reaching effect of sin that she and her husband had just admitted to the species. How could she conceive that it would be another four thousand years before His appearing. The challenge was to them and to their offspring to wait and look with patience even if it were not to occur in their lifetime.

While more fully informed today, it is still a challenge to the people of God to keep on keeping on to the coming of Jesus to end the present age and initiate a new one. For the last two thousand years, men have looked for His appearing in their lifetime, even as do we. Even though there is much greater reasoning from the scriptures to believe His coming is at the door, it is still our challenge to keep on keeping on until He does come, or until the race for us is finished.

No, Eve did not give birth to Jesus. If so, He would then have been the offspring of Adam and a sinner. Thank God that Mary did give
