CHAPTER TWO
THE WHITE HORSE IN
REVELATION CHAPTER SIX
AND I SAW WHEN THE LAMB OPENED
ONE OF THE SEALS, AND I HEARD AS IT
WERE THE NOISE OF THUNDER ONE OF
THE FOUR BEASTS SAYING, COME AND
SEE. AND I SAW, AND BEHOLD A WHITE
HORSE, AND HE THAT SAT ON HIM HAD A
BOW; AND A CROWN WAS GIVEN UNTO
HIM, AND HE WENT FORTH CONQUERING
AND TO CONQUER. Revelation 6:1-2.
The word bow in the above scripture is derived from the Greek word “toxon.” In the English language the word “toxon” is translated as “victory and/or conquest.”
In layman’s terms the bow represents the power to be victorious in battle and in the “art of warfare.” In other words, the white horse is given power over the nations to conquer and to destroy.
Many Christians are taught that the rider on the white horse in Revelation Chapter 6 Verses 1 and 2 is Christ.
Christ does return to earth riding a white horse and He does come to conquer and be victorious over His earthly enemies, but He is not the one riding the white horse in Revelation Chapter 6.
The Apostle John wrote in Revelation Chapter 19, “I saw the heaven opened and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war. His eyes 13
were as a flame of fire and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in white linen and clean.
And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His vesture and on His thigh a name written King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.”
The rider on the white horse in Revelation Chapter 6
only wore one crown. Christ, the rider on the white horse in Revelation Chapter 19 had “many crowns” on His head. Therefore, we must assume that by that
“revelation” alone that they are not and cannot be the same riders.
All four of the four Horseman of the Apocalypse were described having different roles to play in their
“apocalyptic assignments” here on earth during the Great Tribulation period. All of them were given power to cause death, pestilence, destruction, and mayhem upon the earth and its inhabitants.
NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION
The greatest threat to mankind during these “perilous times” is the danger of nuclear proliferation. Nuclear proliferation today is not just a threat, but a certainty.
Every country that possesses nuclear arms have threatened to use them recently against their enemies or 14
their foreseeable enemies. There are nine countries that possess nuclear arsenals today. A few others are desperately working toward that goal.
All “Nuclear powers” have aggressively threatened to use their nuclear armaments against their enemies in the past and they are still using threatening rhetoric even more than they have in the past.
Today the nations of this world have been “weighed in the balance and found wanting.” The idiom “weighed in the balance and found wanting” is a term found in the Book of Daniel regarding the judgement God used against Belshazzar King of the Babylonian Empire.
The story of Belshazzar and his defeat of the Babylonian Empire is found in the Book of Daniel Chapter 5. In one night the Kingdom of Babylon was taken from Belshazzar and his people by the Persian Empire in 539 BC. Belshazzar was killed that night during the invasion.
The “writing on the wall” regarding the sins of the nations of this world have already been written on the pages of most of mankind’s hearts. The fate of the nations has already been determined and turned over to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
There is
more to come regarding today’s
“Apocalypse” in the following chapters.
