CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

WHO SHALL SEPERATE US FROM THE

LOVE OF CHRIST? SHALL TRIBULATION

OR DISTRESS, OR PERSECUTION, OR

FAMINE OR NAKEDNESS, OR PERIL, OR

SWORD. AS IT IS WRITTEN, FOR THY

SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALLTHE DAY LONG:

WE ARE COUNTED AS SHEEP FOR THE

SLAUGHTER. NAY, IN ALL THESE THINGS

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED US. FOR I

AM PERSUADED THAT NEITHER DEATH,

NOR LIFE, NOR PRINCIPALITIES, NOR

POWERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR

THINGS TO COME. NOR HEIGHT, NOR

DEPTH, NOR ANY OTHER CREATURE

SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM

THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST

JESUS OUR LORD. Romans 8:35-39.

In Romans 8:31 the Bible tells us that “If God be for us who can be against us?” All the turmoil that is in the world today will not affect us if our faith and trust is in the Lord and the promises written in His word. There is nothing in this world that can separate us from the love of God but “ourselves.” Self must die so the life and love of Christ can be resurrected within us. God loves us more than we can imagine. If His life and love are rooted 96

and grounded in our hearts, they are all we need to walk in harmony with Him.

Through the power of love Christ conquered sin and death for us at the cross. His love was/is so immense and

“complete” it knows no bounds and there is nothing that can separate us from the power of His love.

In this world we may face many challenges, however those challenges are merely steppingstones to a greater faith and a closer walk with Christ. Because of all the turmoil in the days which we are living in Christians are going to require a greater faith and a greater love for our Lord.

If we are going to be able to endure the “shakings” that the whole world will be and is experiencing, we must be rooted and grounded in faith. Our faith must lie in Christ and not in the adverse circumstances which we may see surrounding us.

If we are born-again our life is hidden with God in Christ and “circumstances” can be a pathway to opportunities to be blessed and to bless others.

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

The word “conquerors” is derived from the Greek word “kataktntes.” It means to “conquer or prevail.”

The word “conquerors” is found only one time in the Bible.

We cannot be more than conquerors without Christ who is the hope of glory within us. Christ within us cannot and will never fail us. We may fail Christ at times; however He will never fail us as long as we are 97

dwelling under the shadow of His almighty wings. Christ promised never to leave or forsake us.

As long as we are following in the footsteps of Christ, He will always be with us even in the darkest of days.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God as long as we are continually, confidently, and faithfully walking in Him and communicating with Him.

Jesus promised that we would face troubles in this world. (See John 16:33). Troubles can be

“opportunities” to draw closer to the Lord and strengthen our faith. On the other hand, troubles can be opportunities for failure if we take our eyes off of Christ and onto the “troubles” which may be all around us.

Pain and suffering are some of the things that all

“earthlings” will experience at one time or another.

However, we can take solace in knowing that when our faith has been tried, we will become “purified” and

“justified” in Christ if we endure to the end.

ENDURING WITH PATIENCE

The Bible tells us to “glory in tribulations knowing that tribulations produce the fruit of patience within us.”

The Bible goes on to tell us that patience produces experience within us and that experience produces hope within us.” (See Romans 5:3-4).

James wrote “Let patience have her perfect work that you may be complete and entire in need of nothing. (See James 1:4). Jesus said that “In our patience we possess our souls.” (See Luke 21:19). The Bible also tells us that 98

“We inherit the promises of God through our faith and patience. (See Hebrews 6:12).

Without patience hearts and minds will remain unfruitful and in spiritual bondage. Christians without patience can be like a “loose cannon” rolling “carelessly and precariously” out of control down a hill destroying everything in its path.

In our patience we possess our souls. In our patience we become “more than conquerors” through Christ Jesus who strengthens us and gives a better

“perspective” on life and the tribulations life brings. The

“power of patience” will keep and guard our hearts in Christ Jesus.

Standing strong in the face of tribulations and adversity is a much-needed virtue for all Christians. As Christians the troubles and trials we face in life can be used as opportunities to become more Christlike.

The “Great Tribulation” should be an even greater opportunity for Christians to draw closer to Christ and become more in tune with His Spirit. Walking by faith during trials and tribulations is preferred over the fear that the Devil is and will be trying to instill in the hearts and minds of believers.

IN CHRIST

In Christ we become more than conquerors. We become conquerors over Death, Hell, and the Grave through the Blood Jesus shed for us at Calvary.

There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God as long as we “remain faithful “to Christ. In Christ 99

we live, and move, and have our being. Outside of Christ we are nothing.

When our spirit and the Spirit of Christ are united together and the “old man” dies we become born again.

Our sins are washed away, and we become a “new creation” in Christ. We are washed in His blood and clothed in His love.

We become more than conquerors through Christ

“during” the trials and tribulations we experience in life.

Once we have faithfully and victoriously endured the temptations and trials we experience in life we can say that we have become “more than conquerors” over them.

It is the trials and tribulations of life that we faithfully endure which mold and make us into the divine image of Christ.

Christ “in us” is greater than any circumstances we may face in life. He is more powerful than the Devil and all the principalities and powers that today are provoking and invoking their will upon people around the world. The finished works of the cross is evidence that the Devil has been placed under His feet. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY

People sailing by boat up the Hudson River and entering into New York Harbor can look to their right and see the Statue of Liberty sitting there on Staten Island.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift to America by the people of France. I wrote earlier that they could look to their left and see the name BABYLON NEW YORK on

a giant sign.

I have read that the statue was originally meant to represent the Roman goddess of freedom and liberty called “Libertis.” The French sculptor Frederic Batrholdi created and built the statue in France. It was later disassembled and shipped to the United States by ship in crates.

The Statue of Liberty holds a torch over her head by her right hand and in her left had she carries a tablet where the date of July 4th 1776 is inscribed in Roman numerals. The date of July 4th 1776 is the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.

After the statue was dedicated in 1886 it became an icon and symbol of freedom and of the United States.

The statue welcomes immigrants that are entering into the city of New York by sea.

MYSTERY BABYLON

We saw earlier that Mystery Babylon represented a city and also a system. It is a geopolitical, geo-economic system that is represented by many different religious entities.

Regarding Mystery Babylon the Bible tells us, “And the woman was arrayed with scarlet and purple color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a “golden cup” in her hand full of abominations: And filthiness of her fornication: and upon her forehead was a name written MYSTERY, BABYLON THE

GREAT.

MOTHER

OF

HARLOTS

AND

ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the

woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her I wondered with great admiration. (See Revelation 17:3-5).

The colors scarlet, and purple, the precious stones, the gold, and the pearls all represent the “wealth” of the system. We also saw that the system was tied to the Untied Nations which is located in New York City.

The blood of the saints and martyrs has been and will be shed by those in the system that have been and are

“confused” by God of this world—Satan.

The torch “or cup” the Statue of Liberty in New York City holds over her head has 24 karat gold leaf on it, seemingly like the cup Mystery Babylon holds in “her”

hand.

I believe that anyone with any knowledge of “the prophetic can see that New York City is the the City of Mystery Babylon John wrote about in Revelation Chapter 17. The similarities between the two are just too obvious to ignore.
